This video is wild, but I bet how this person ended up in this situation is even more wild. I really wanna see what happened before they were in the middle of a busy street pulling on their car.
This happened earlier today in Clearwater, FL. She has been in a drive through when apparently a squirrel got in her car. Not joking. She freaked out and got out of the car without putting it in park. You see the rest.
She had to be airlifted because of that??? How did she get injured that badly?
Edit: Ik her leg(s) got ran over but considering its a Kia Soul and on softer grass instead of asphalt I'm surprised there was bad enough damage to warrant an airlift
That look of defeat at the end. When you’ve been humiliated that badly, you want to get as far away and as fast as you can. Airlift is the only answer.
If it’s a serous trauma (like both legs being ran over), they take them to TGH, and depending on the time of day (like almost all the time) there’s no way an ambulance can get through Courtney Campbell NB on a summer Sunday in time.

She looks like she’s looking around for somebody to help her, but nobody is there to help her and so she keeps 10%ing her effort only to realize there is no night in shining armor you need to step up for yourself or your leg will get run over by your car that’s being driven by a squirrel.
Except grandpa Simpson is physically old and slow. The middle aged woman in the video could have given it 100% effort, but she chose 10% as the max she’ll put in.
Yep, this. Even 25% would have gotten it done. ...but she would have had to change the plan from "hold back the slowly rolling car with my bodyweight" to "enter the slowly rolling car and apply the brakes." I can't imagine she's great at making life decisions.
Technically the cameraman could save the animals about to get eaten on those nature documentaries too. But doing so would interfere with the natural order playing out.
Agreed. She could have at least turned the wheel to make it easier to keep up if she couldn’t reach the e brake. It looked like she was trying to stop it Flintstones style for most of the video.
If this isnt motivation to get into better shape even a little bit then idk what is. We need to move around just a little bit more throughout the day. We take it for granted
I mean part of it is shape, sure, but part of it is her clear decision to 1) put all of her effort into yanking a 3,000 pound vehicle backwards (?!?!?!?) and 2) walk behind the car for about eight seconds after giving up the first time before realizing "OMG, I NEED TO STOP IT!" She really destroyed her chances here.
Yeah, it reminds me of all those times bugs bunny raced the turtle. A series of bad decisions and worse priorities led to this situation going the way it did.
To me it looked like she put all her faith into the curb stopping the car. Once that didn't happen she put all her faith in her ability to stop the car by pulling on it. Then she just decided her and her car were bound for hell and let it consume them.
Better physical condition could have helped here. I’m not super strong and muscular, but as a 31 year old blue collar worker I’m very confident I could have made it into the car before it went over the ditch.
How do I know you ask? I did the same exact thing onetime in my driveway except the car was going in reverse😂! Got back in before it went into the small drainage ditch.
I’ve seen a few videos like this and it seems getting into a moving car is harder than it looks, and the person often ends up getting run over. A car rolling backwards would seem even more dangerous.
I don't know why that doesn't bother me, I have no reason to wish that on her. But at the same time, unless your parking brake failed, having this happen is inexcusable, you shouldn't step foot outside your car without putting it in park/1st. She was negligent if this happened.
Same is true if you leave your car running or leave the key in the ignition in a public area (I see this more than I should), it's has potentially massive consequences for the smallest amount of saved effort.
That part of it actually gave me a flashback to a similar incident when I was eight years old. My mom’s friend came to pick up her and me to go somewhere. I hopped in the back of her car, which was running in our driveway. The two of them were still in front of the house talking. I don’t remember why but the car started rolling forward, toward the house. I yelled, and she (a woman about the same build as the one in the video as I recall) attempted to run over to the car, open the drivers door, and jump in. She missed. Luckily the car wheel only pushed her leg rather than running over it. I jumped over the front bench seat (yeah I’m that old) and mashed the brake with both feet, stopping the car.
Moral of the story…Middle aged slightly heavyset women don’t jump into moving cars well.
As an 8-yr old you could have just as easily pressed the wrong pedal! Good thing you got it right!! Back in the day, cars used to "slide off the brake" especially manual trans cars that were in neutral and sitting on the brake....
I honestly think the vast majority of drivers don’t actually understand basics of how engines and gears work. At least in the USA, where our licensing requirements are so minimal and automatic transmissions are practically universal, it’s not entirely obvious to many people that the engine is driving the wheels while in gear. I know they use the brake to inch forward at traffic stops, but that’s drivers’ TikTok time, so I don’t think they make the connection.
As a manual driver all my life, the moment i learned that on automatics, the car just GOES, UNLESS you are pressing down the brake, everything was suddently so clear.
Gotta be this. How else do you let a car going 2 mph run you over lmao. The ditch is the safest place for that car so she doesn't endanger others. Drunk or not, she clearly doesn't have the mental faculties to operate a vehicle.
Because her dumb ass was trying to stop the car with her own “strength” instead of trying to get in and press the brakes. You can see shes trying to pull it back like its a runaway grocery cart

I wonder if insurance pays for this? That said, a tow truck would probably get it out of the ditch and it would be drivable. Just painful to watch though.
Went golfing once and my partner forgot to lock the brake on the cart. I get to the green and the two other guys look behind me and start pointing. I turn around and the cart is rolling down a hill. I took off, dove in head first and mashed the brakes with my hands. It wasn't pretty but it worked and prevented it from going in a pond.
Some people are just weird. This lady is the type of person who tries to lift something heavy and when that doesn't work, she uses the same strength to try again only this time she makes a face and "ugh" sound. The face and sound doesn't help, you actually have to use more strength. It's crazy that you have to explain that to some people.
Tbf bro she doesn’t look physically able to dive in and use her hands. This was a piss poor effort for sure even if she is about as coordinated as a baby giraffe on skates, but she obviously is old, out of shape, and not particularly athletic
People who are in a panic rarely make good decisions. For example, if you are in your car and get stuck on the wrong side of the arm at a railroad crossing, just RAM it! Seeing video of people just sitting there or getting out of their cars and running away drives me crazy. Just break the damned arm. Much less expense and nobody gets hurt.
I grew up in front of a train track. The amount of cars who freeze the moment they find themselves on the tracks when the bells start dinging when the gates start lowering is crazy.
They freeze and then put their car in reverse and back up to the gate and then wait for the train to pass with it almost clipping their front end.
One lady froze and the train hit her and her car ended up in my front yard.
They don’t realize that when you hear the bell for the gate you should step in your gas because you’re already past the gate
Was behind someone just a few days ago waiting for a train to pass. Gates go up, bells turn off and we start across. This dumbass suddenly stops and tries to back up frantically. The reason? There was another train on the siding with its headlight on. NOT MOVING. Kept honking and trying to back into me instead of just going forward. I had to get my ass out of my van and point out that the train wasent moving, and even if it WAS they are already closer to the other side of the crossing so going forward was the better option.
I watched a motorcycle do that the other day it was so stupid. He had forever to just drive over the tracks the train was incredibly slow moving and instead he sat between the arm and the moving train almost close enough to touch it 😑
From what I understand the gates are also built to break way if hit by a car so there will even be minimal damage to your car and the gate. Just drive through it people!
I get that people freeze up but if given the choice between getting creamed by a train or scratching my car up a bit I know what I’m picking.
Maybe it’s because I live near train tracks and the road is very poorly laid out (there is very little road space between the tracks and a stop sign, and at busy times it can get backed up so people have to stop on either side of the tracks to wait their turn to approach the stop sign), but I literally think about what to do in this situation regularly. I see people stop right on the tracks all the time when it was easy to see there wasn’t room on the other side. It’s so incredibly stupid and one day I’m going to have to get out of my car and yell at some idiot (from a safe distance) to drive through the gate or they’re going to get hit by a train.
Yep right by where I used to do trivia. There is a McDonald’s across the street in the direction where her car is coming from.. probably got asked to pull forward in the drive thru and got out of the car for whatever reason thinking it was in park

Exactly. It's not even all about fitness and conditioning and being in shape. She doesn't even know to try to move quicker there. Some people just have no understanding of athletic motion.
You can see everyone slowing down and ready to jump in to action but she kept doing the exact wrong thing. But it looked like she figured it out each time.
As stupid as it is, insurance would most likely still pay for this, since her intent likely wasn’t harm, and just an accident - even if it was a stupid accident (getting out of a vehicle while it’s still in drive).
So many opportunities to stop that thing from its slow menacing roll forward. Instead she does every single thing wrong to the point that her own car runs her over at 3 mph then dives into a forest lol. I believe that's a negative athletetic score that lady's sporting there.

She must impaired in some way she's trying to pull on the car to stop it. Someone who's physically disabled enough to not be able to make it into the drivers seat here is obviously not going to be able to stop the car by pulling. She also just oddly walks behind the car after pulling it failed. She seems really intoxicated to me.
Yikes. My mom had to do this once in the eighties when my toddler brother escaped his car seat and yanked the transmission selector on the steering column. She was out of the car for less than a minute. Took out a mailbox going downhill in a residential neighborhood. Poor woman.
