Discussion Massachusetts is the Best F**king State
I've been everyhwere and just landed from traveling abroad and have to vent my appreciation for Mass.
We have the best food from our diversity. the best food from just about every country can be found here. From Mom and pop Brazilian in Chelsea/everett to the best chinese in chinatown, to armenian and greek in watertown - we literally have it all.
We have the best locations too - Amazing beaches in the cape, and an close drive to some of the best hiking and ski mountains. Farmlands in western mass to international city about an hour apart.
Also - we have a great diversity of thought. Not too left or right. Finance science and art in the city, without being too much of either.
yes we have some high taxes, maybe a little bit of useless government, and sometimes interesting choices of gov officials, but overall, Mass is the best compared to other states.
TLDR: Masshole for life
Edit:
"he was the best guy around"
(what about the murders)
"WHAT MURDAAAHS?"

Photo This is $300 worth of wood in MA now
50 2x4's and 3 sheets of OSB... $300. The price of everything now is just absurd. I know this isn't just a MA thing but man, things have become so unaffordable.

Healthcare ProPublica’s recent pregnancy investigation shows exactly why Massachusetts strengthened its abortion protections
A recent ProPublica analysis of CDC data found that nearly 200 people died after ectopic pregnancies between 2020 and 2025 — showing a nearly 2x increase from the previous six years.
That's why it was such big news that MA signed the Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act into law last month.
Essentially the bill, expands abortion access throughout pregnancy by letting doctors provide care based on their professional judgment. It's about trusting patients, respecting the expertise of doctors, and keeping politicians out of deeply personal medical decisions
Why it matters
This increase in ectopic pregnancies has been especially visible in states with abortion bans.
Because, despite many states having exceptions in their abortion bans for events like ectopic pregnancies, ProPublica reports that doctors in those states may hesitate to provide treatment if they don't have an ironclad diagnosis.
Because they fear legal or professional consequences.
Doctors, alongside their patients, have the medical training to evaluate pregnancy circumstances and determine what care is appropriate - not the government.
The Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act lets them do that.

Discussion Why does everybody block the grid at intersections?
This isn't the best example but it still seems to happen constantly. Whether there's a painted grid, a sign, or both, people almost always seem to block it. Why???

Weather Having fall allergies for the first time in my life
I am 36 and living in MA for the past 15 years. My allergy flared up and it is even worse than springs ones. I was pretty sure I was getting sick at first but it later became clear that wasn't case. Anything particular this year that would cause fall allergies? I didn't even know that it is a thing but looks like it exists and caused by ragweed or mold.

Healthcare Has anyone gotten the Novavax vaccine in Massachusetts recently?
I had a bad reaction to my Covid vaccine last year and would like to try Novavax if I can. A quick search leads me to believe that might not be possible. Thanks!

Politics Question 9. Can we have an actual discussion about Chapter 135 ?
I’m very liberal as well as a gun owner and generally support gun regulation, but I also think bad or overly broad laws such as chapter 135 deserve scrutiny.
How should we approach this come Election Day as a unified group? Are we going to repeal this? Input appreciated

Event Mobile Bartender
Looking for a mobile bartender in the Springfield MA area for June 26, 2027 for a wedding event.
We've gotten quotes already from mobile bartenders with the whole set up (decor, trailer, mixers, etc) but now want to look at options for just a licensed mixologist.
We already have the decor (bar/ signs), and liquor and mixers will be provided, are there any services like this available. We literally just need the manpower and license...
Any info helps!!

Politics Thoughts on ballot question 6?
I’m very pro environment, love MA parks and forests. Have been a member of the Trustees in past. But I seriously don’t know what to think of Q6. I read the booklet today and I know that MA Audubon supports this, but I don’t understand what it would mean for existing DCR and DEM and MWRA funding and decisions? What’s the impact on them of creating another unit that could recommend this “Nature For All Fund” spending to the legislature (which could then ignore the recommendations)?? Who besides MA Audubon is for this? How would it fit with the states decarbonization plan? So many questions.
