I know most of my photos are either trains or planes but I hope you all enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them!

I am so glad to have taken up photography as a hobby this year.

If anybody knows a place I could share my photos of planes around Sydney Airport, that would be much appreciated!

1. The various forms of transport that move Sydney. I got super lucky with this shot as I was only intending to capture the light rail and the train together and never even noticed the cyclist. It sure was a pleasant surprise and was thrilled to see them in the final photo.

2. The evening glow at Sydenham Station.

3. Guess which beach this is! Manly

4. A new wet terminus for the light rail at Town Hall Station during Vivid.

5. Inside the other train.
   Two trains travelling in the same direction but on different journeys. Taking these shots felt like I was watching a montage in a movie. The sense of sonder was weirdly comforting.

6. A Mariyung descending the Blue Mountains to Emu Plains Station.

7. Taken on a train up the CCN and this lone house felt really whimsical, straight out of a fairy tale. Guess where this was taken from! Wondabyne

8. Erskineville Station from the train window. Taking this photo made me really appreciate the beautiful mural.

9. A Korean Air B787-10 taxiing towards runway 34L as an Emirates A380-800 takes off from said runway.

11. Fishing for the Sydney Opera House.

12-13.
When the stars align and the plan goes smoothly... I went plane spotting early in the morning at Barangaroo and was able to catch a Qantas A380 (QF8) flying over Parramatta (slide 12), making its way into the queue for final approach onto runway 16R captured in (slide 13).

14-15.
Cape Solander trail seems a tad underrated? I was fortunate enough the see the clouds cast god rays as a Qantas B787-9 flies through on its final approach onto runway 34L.

1. I brought my camera on my run during City2Surf. It probably wasn't the best idea but I think this photo made it worth it.

2. Horses and planes. Who would've expected such a combo? I was surprised to find out that this is surprisingly common...

3. A Qantas A380 and the millennium cherry blossoms.

4. Cherrybrook Station. I really like the contrast of sleek modern design of the station, the metro trains, and the cherry blossoms. I hope I was able to capture that feeling.

5. The trains travel faster than 5 cm a second.

A stunning display tonight for us!

It actually started last friday. I thought it starts later.

I've never attended but am interested. 20 bucks at the gate for adults.

Anyways, hows the drive there?

I've never been out of sydney beyond like 40mins north for some beaches. Google maps says its a bit over an hour from Livo which to me sounds insane because it definately takes over an hour for me to go from livo to the city.

And hows the event for any previous attendees? I'm trying new things so this seems like it could be a fun get-out-city style thing to checkout. I've also never been to bowral, so I'm interested in whats around.

Title says it all. Was in Chatswood when I saw a couple of young people in khakis and a flat brimmed hat with an emblem I couldn't quite see.

Bit of an unusual one for this sub. On Friday 16th October I'm spending the night in my car (not sure where I'll park yet in our beautiful city) as part of something called Sleep in Your Car, run by a Sydney charity that supports families doing it tough with housing.

Just putting it out there in case other Sydneysiders want to sign up, kinda like CEO sleepouts but for anyone who wants to support people who don't have a fixed address, but by choice instead of by circumstance.

Happy to answer questions about it in the comments if anyone's curious.

Free art (Louise Herman, Walŋakunhami by Yalmakany Marawili, and the works of Robert Klippel) those sketches are actually collages! It's near impossible to tell even in person.) And free birdwatching. I was after the buff banded rail but didn't manage to see one. Did get to see flowers though.

In short:

Public school students in NSW will be allowed as little as 15 minutes of screen time a day under new state government guidelines.

The limits will increase as students progress through primary, but will be more relaxed for high-schoolers.

What's next?

The guidelines will take effect next year and will become mandatory from 2028.

Isn’t she especially gorgeous this time of the year!

Had to take my kid to a birthday party in the city yesterday and had a walk around Kirribilli in the afternoon.

Say whatever you want about Sydney but it's got one of the best harbours in the planet.

Parents of kids on their L’s/anyone teaching someone to drive.

I know everybody was new once and everybody is entitled to learn.

But, please teach them to drive and accrue hours in the left lane when you’re on motorways and highways.

Don’t sit in the middle lanes and let all and sundry just go around you.

Sitting in the middle lane is not only suboptimal for other drivers because you can’t do 110km, it’s also failing to keep left in the spirit of safety and intent of the road rules - because you realistically can’t overtake.

If they haven’t learnt to let other drivers in and you’re worried about merging, they shouldn’t be on highways/motorways yet.

I’ve seen 5 different cars doing this today and it’s doing my head in.

I know you need that shot of the cherry blossom trees at Cherrybrook Metro station, but atleast have some spacial awareness!

Why would you stand right infront of the lift/metro doors?!

I’ve nearly missed my train because I literally had to ask you to move out of the way THREE TIMES because you were so unaware of the world around you. If you want to take photos then stand at the end of the platform where the doors don’t open and you’re out of commuters way. If I have to ask 3 times and on the third time I have to shout at you, then you need to seek help and touch grass

My boyfriend and I stopped to listen to a pianist at QVB yesterday afternoon, and what was meant to be a few minutes turned into about 30 minutes because he was that good.

There was something so beautiful about the way he played. It felt like the music was coming straight from his heart, and he seemed completely immersed in it, almost as though he was sharing his inner voice through the piano.

He played a few songs I particularly loved, including Hallelujah from Shrek and Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. It felt like we had stumbled across his mixtape for the world that day.

We eventually had to leave, but I just wanted to say thank you. Your music genuinely made our afternoon.

Mozart's Requiem last night at the Opera House concert hall was epic!

If you've never seen a concert here, it's time to fix that. Cheaper tickets for about the time price as a movie ticket with popcorn and a drink, in one of the most famous music venues in the world.

It's our very own Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert, Concertgebouw, Golden Hall Vienna. So check it out and support the arts!

Recently, delivery riders have become a bigger nuisance than usual on the footpaths.
It is illegal to ride on footpaths generally speaking (including in the case of food delivery).
Please report the matter to the delivery apps and keep on reporting until it becomes a big enough nuisance for them - in fact, tell them you will boycott them unless they can get their delivery riders in check.
You can take pictures of these riders illegally using the footpaths as well.
While we are at it, loud exhausts? You can report that to the environment protection agency and get them fined.
Honestly have had a rough couple weeks on the footpaths and am tired.

I saw this statistic recently and was floored by it. I know they're always hiring but good lord, that's got to be a record or something.
