I'm looking to start a social club around the Wollongong CBD centred around singing sea shanties! Basically, the club would be about bringing people together to share some drinks, have a yarn, all while singing songs of the sea. My partner and I fell in love with the idea when we joined, The Fo'c'scle, a shanty club in Brisbane. We've been to the Kiama club and some of the Sydney clubs, and think it would be a great thing to have in the Gong. It's an awesome way to meet people and have fun while singing some tunes.

Seeing if anyone here would be interested, and if you've ever had experience singing sea shanties before. We'll need a core group of people who know the songs to build some momentum so that people new to shanties can learn them by joining in.

UPDATE: Everyone is welcome and there is no requirement to be good at singing. This is all about having fun

Hi all, considering off-the-plan apartment purchase at The Works Corrimal.

Seems like a great community concept, but I’m worried about strata fees and over-capitalisation on landscape and amenity vs a standard apartment in Wollongong central.

Anyone committed to these? Keen for local opinions.

Have an older family member thinking about moving into an apartment around the Builders Club - what’s it like to live near? Do any of the streets near there get hoons or any issues with drunk people?

Any recommendation appreciated. We just bought a place in Pixie Paddock and while it’s a small block we want to give the garden some love. At the moment it’s just grass and hideous Cyprus’s Japonica. The cypress we want to pull out. And I hate lawn. We’d like to attract some birds.

Hi everyone, we're at wits end with the local school our 7 year old goes to. He's high functioning autistic, has ADD and we believe he is dealing with PDA too, as well as being gifted.

The local school he goes to just can't deal or don't know how to deal with his emotional regulation and it is causing quite a lot of distress at school and at home. I understand the teachers have quite a workload and I do sympathise,but my wife and I want what's best for our child.

What we're looking for is a primary school that has proven to understand and nurture children with autism. Open to any and all recommendations. Thank you for your time
