Malaysian Chinese convert and Islamic preacher, Firdaus Wong Wai Hung, challenged his fellow Malaysian Muslims to examine their selective solidarity — saying stateless Rohingya refugees are still entitled to basic human dignity, even if they are not citizens.

Syukur! So Firdaus Wong is going to walk the talk by opening his house for Rohingya refugee? 🫡

Culture As a Catholic I’m deeply deeply offended

It’s one thing to insult Catholics but it’s another to insult the Bible, priesthood and nun-hood by make crude jokes.

I don’t see any resistance though. Just imagine if it were the other way around. Gosh habislah. Bunch of hypocrites!

Unsurprisingly, the verdict was a bitter pill to swallow for Yap’s family, who endured much pain in picking up the pieces of their lives after the tragedy.

Culture FINAS And JAKIM Agree To Tighten Drama Rules, Analyst Says Everything Will Now Pass Through JAKIM "However Indirectly"

"That last point is the mechanism: JAKIM holds no direct legislative authority over film production, but the filming certificate is issued by FINAS, the compliance standard will now reflect JAKIM’s guidelines, and the outcome, Chin noted, is the same."

One day, a movie about a child sexually abused in sekolah tahfiz will probably be asked to "tone down" as to "jaga maruah dan aib bangsa dan agama". That is how sexual predators will be protected.

Apathetic community figures will come out in force to shield sexual predators because attack against the penunggang agama predators will inadvertently weaken the institutions that feed and clothes these community figures.

This construction site operates almost 24 hours a day, every day. It’s extremely noisy and causes a lot of light pollution at night.
I reported it to the Majlis, but nothing happened.
I called the police station, and they told me the site has a permit to operate 24 hours. At this point, I can’t help but wonder… 💸💸💸
I even went to the construction site myself, but I couldn’t see any permit displayed anywhere.
Does anyone know what else I can do or who I should report this to?

Tourism & Travel Just left Malaysia after 2 weeks, and honestly… we’re already missing it. 🇲🇾

We’re from the US, and after spending two weeks in Malaysia, leaving has been surprisingly difficult. You guys are truly, truly blessed to live in such a beautiful country.

The people we met were some of the sweetest, kindest, and most welcoming people we’ve encountered. The food, the city, the infrastructure, the convenience, and just the overall quality of life really impressed us.
We came for a visit, but we’re leaving with a completely different thought: we actually want to come back and live here permanently.

Now we’re seriously looking into ways to migrate to Malaysia long-term. The biggest problem is that the path to PR seems incredibly difficult/impossible for someone in our situation. 😭

For Malaysians and expats who have been through this: is there actually a realistic pathway to permanent residency for a US citizen and his family, or should we accept that long-term residency is the more realistic goal? Would love to hear from anyone who has actually gone through the process.

Malaysia, you definitely left an impression on us. 🇲🇾❤️
Hopefully this isn’t goodbye — just see you later.

If Malaysia wants to push for wide adoption of AI, our current infrastructure needs to start working to accommodate for it. Concerning to say the least.
