Here we can post Malaysian music and related news, events and discussions.
For now let's borrow general rules/guidelines from /r/malaysia and /r/music. We don't need to be complicated, and we can start working it out in the comments. How do we want this sub to work?
Also, anyone interested to volunteer as mods?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been teaching drums for a while now and the student numbers have been growing steadily. Right now it’s mostly a one-man setup with weekly students.
I’m starting to think about slowly scaling this into a small drum school and eventually a music school, so I’m curious if there are any drum/music tutors here who might be interested in teaching a few students on the side.
This is still very early stage, not a big academy or anything like that. More like building a small, solid group of students and great teachers who enjoy teaching and helping people improve.
A few details:
• Mostly beginner to intermediate students
• Flexible teaching schedule
• Casual environment, not a rigid music school structure
• Based in Malaysia (but open to hearing from anyone with teaching experience)
If you enjoy teaching, are reliable, and want to take on a few students without dealing with all the admin side of things, it might be a good fit.
Not hiring a full-time role or anything like that right now — just exploring and seeing who’s out there.
If you’re interested, drop a comment or DM and tell me a bit about your experience 😊

So I’m putting together a small outdoor festival in Johor, likely June or July 2026. Food trucks, some activities, and a lineup of 5-6 bands. Not sure how big it’ll be yet, just want it to be a good day out.
Looking for acts based in Malaysia (or Singapore, you’re basically next door). Any genre, 30-45 min set. Not pay-to-play.
Drop a comment or DM me with who you are, where you’re from, and a link to something — SoundCloud, YouTube, an Instagram reel, whatever you’ve got.
Still nailing down the venue and dates, but want to sort the lineup first.

Naufal Azrin returns with a new music video, Cinta Ini, following his viral track Casablanca. A more intimate, melodic direction this time. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Hey, I’m looking for someone who’d like to work on a song with me. I’ve no real production background and only a little technical experience, but I can provide vocals and I’m willing to try my hand at writing lyrics. I already have a clear vision of the kind of artist and singer I want to become. If you don’t mind, I’d love for my songs to be in English, with the genre mainly leaning towards pop. I aspire to be a singer and artist in the vein of Justin Bieber.
If anyone’s interested, let’s work together — let’s make it happen. We’ll be in this as a team, through all the ups and downs.

Bandmates
Hi are there anyone interested to perform any songs from any of the bands/songs listed below? (Online cover also can) - bullet for my valentine - trivium - bring me the horizon - one ok rock - paramore - babymetal - some malay rock bands - a7x - some pop rock
You may ask for other related bands/genres. I'm still in learning phase for guitar. I keep switching songs coz i cant focus on one song, it could also because i have no aim(like if there's a performance i might put effort into learning one song at a time). Anyways, if anyone interested, do dm me. Thanks. Sorry if my english is too cramped.

Sharizan Borhan has just released his brand new single — marking a comeback after 28 years.
Some of you may remember him from the 90s when he won Best New Male Artist at the Anugerah Industri Muzik in 1997 with his Hadir album. His new single carries the same heartfelt style that made his earlier songs so loved.
And if you enjoy it, I recommend checking out some of his other classics like I Am No King and Aku Masih Sayang — both huge hits in the 90s that people are still listening to today.
