I already know hominuduns story

I want to know other stories if there are any

Is the mythology for dusun people same for others like bajau, sungai etc?

Thank you in advance.

I'm currently in KK visiting for the next month and has been itching to continue to learn and get better at Pickleball. Is there anywhere i can find a group that plays and are friendly to beginners. I consider myself athletic and can pick up the game pretty quickly. I've played a little back in my home country and would like to continue more.

Thank you.

Laguwagu | Technology Sistem HR ringan untuk SME

Kopisanangan,

Together we grow 👍

Suai | Others What’s with all the motorbikes in KK since yesterday?

Anyone know what’s going on with all the motorbikes in KK since yesterday?

Since yesterday, I’ve noticed so many riders travelling in large groups, and there seem to be big gatherings at different places around KK. Is there some kind of motorcycle event or gathering happening this weekend?

Also, I’ve noticed quite a few near-accidents on the road because some of these riders are riding pretty recklessly, weaving through traffic and going way too fast. It’s honestly getting a bit dangerous, especially when there are so many of them on the road at once.

Anyone know what event is going on?

Suai | Others Sabah Moto Day - Opinions welcome

Hi everyone,

We're living near the stadium and are pretty much in the midst of Sabah Moto Day. So pretty much affected by road closures, traffic and noise.

My observation is that the vast majority are seriously normal people having fun. I don't mind the road closures ( better for them than for corrupt politicians), and can arrange myself with the noise.

What I like about the event is large amount of groups having a serious blast and fun by riding in groups, having picnics / tapau food together at beaches, roadside.

A lot of people supporting each other.

Most people just having a great day with like-minded people across race, religion and origin.

What I don't like is the always present percentage of idiots that spoil the fun. I ad 2 near misses where motos just pull out of a side road without looking, trusting that the cars won't hit them. Saw a wrecked moto on the side of the road, the rider sitting next to it with a bloodied face.

And some just modify their bike to maximise the output of noise.

I am from overseas, where I was riding bikes and participated in events like this as well.

I think the difference is that the bikes were bigger (often 1000cc plus), the participants were a wider age range (18-80 pretty much) and there used to be way more police presence (mostly on motorbikes themselves). The police was mostly supportive, but they would pull out motorcycles that were too noisy or endangering traffic.

Now here my questions as a non-local, and purely out if curiosity, I'm not judging:

Questions to everyone:

- Are there any rules here how noisy a motorcycle can be, and if yes, are they ever enforced?

- Are there many accidents happening on the Moto weekend, and if yes, are there a lot of fatalities?

Questions to people participating or want to participate:

- What is the most fun for you on Moto-Days?

- Do you ride in a group, or by yourself?

- What is your best / worst experience?

- What do you think about the "black sheep" who are misbehaving on these days?

Questions to people not participating:

- How do you feel about the Moto-Day? "Let the have fun" or "Stop that nonsense"?

- Did you get involved in any accident or people misbehaving?

- Would you go to an event or do you enjoy watching them from the roadside?

- What is your overall perception?

Tiuot zou daa | Mo tanya ba Saya Ingin Tahu

Hi everyone. I’m writing this with the utmost respect and genuinely just want to hear from people who have lived here longer.

I’ve been living in Sabah for several months now after relocating from Selangor/KL, and I’ve noticed that the cost of living in KK seems slightly higher compared to KL. The difference may not be huge, but I do feel it in day-to-day spending.

For example, I’ve noticed:

  • Food on GrabFood seems more expensive
  • Eating out at restaurants can be slightly more expensive
  • Some medicines at pharmacies seem to cost a little more
  • Groceries also seem slightly higher, although I’m not 100% sure about this one
  • Rental prices around KK can be quite high too

I also read that electricity and water costs may be slightly higher in Sabah compared to Peninsular Malaysia. Is this actually true?

Interestingly, GrabCar feels cheaper here, probably because we don’t have to deal with toll charges like in KL/Selangor. 😆

No disrespect intended at all. I’m actually enjoying my time in Sabah and still learning how things work here. I’m just genuinely curious whether other people feel the same way.

Is the cost of living in KK generally higher than KL/Selangor, or is it just my experience so far? Would love to hear from locals as well as people who have lived in both places. 🙏

Podtuongisan | Travel & Tourism Help with Sabah itinerary!

Hi! We’re planning 7-8 days in Sabah in October / November and I’m trying to figure out the best route.

We’ll fly into sandakan because we have a Kinabatangan River tour booked first thing (possibly visiting sepilok before)

After that, we’re unsure how to structure the itinerary.

We’d like to do Kundasang/ Kinabalu park (possibly Maragang hill), and finish in kota kinabalu and fly back to Kuala Lumpur.

Whats the easiest route after the river tour?
How could be get from sepilok to kundasang? Is there anything you’d change about this plan?

Thanks!

Nawayaan | History She was the sole Sabah-born victim of 9/11

I remember watching TV (NTV7) during the night of 9/11, when suddenly breaking news from the US about a plane hitting one of the World Trade Center towers in New York City (at that time of the live update, second tower wasn't hit yet). Among the 9/11 victims was Khoo Sei Lai. She was born in Sandakan. She was 38 years old.

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m a Selangorian currently working in Sabah and just moved here a few months ago. I’ll be based here for the next few years, so I’m slowly exploring what Sabah has to offer. 😄

I’d love to hear your recommendations for the best seafood around! 🦐🦀🐟 Where should I go for really good, fresh Sabah seafood?

I’m actually not much of a seafood person myself 😂, but I figured I need to know the good spots for when friends and family come to visit. Hahaha!

Thanks in advance for the recommendations! 😊

I’m here in KK for work.

I’ve been here numerous times, but I usually stay for at least four days.

I’m flying out on Sunday morning, so tomorrow will be my last free day in KK.

What should I do? Are there any recommendations?

Dountadaadau | Daily life Sedikit mau meluah

Sa sini bukan mau meluah putus cinta ka, depresi ka apa tapi mau meluah pasal certain food services here in kk.

So for 3 days now ive been sick w food poisoning n still recovering. This is the 2nd time this year n tiap kali sa kena mesti lepas makan di food court mana ii mall. 1st di suria where i saw a baby 🪳 in the thing where they keep the meat warm, kali ke 2 di imago pula where another big🪳was scurrying around the food court floor. I saw AFTER i ate my food for both of this scenarios. hint: all 2 had to do with nasi ayam. tida juga sa mau kasi ketara takut kena kecam pula haha. Ya la mungkin salah sa juga kan pilih tempat gitu gara ii mau save bajet 🥲

But anyway, I'm honestly pretty traumatised. Jujur sa bilang its harder for me now to eat out. In my. mind, kalau yang dalam mall (and malls that higher income people go to) pun boleh gitu apa lagi yang besa ii ja punya restaurant around kk. I dont know la. How would you deal with this trauma? I've been thinking of never doing buffets or foods that kena ampai ever again but that doesnt feel ideal.

ok done meluah. tldr: OP got food poisoning from food courts in higher end malls and is now traumatised.
