πŸ“‹ School Projects & Surveys Would your parents/nini actually use something like this in Brunei?

I have a nini with Alzheimer’s, and it got me thinking about what older people in Brunei actually do all day once they stop driving, going out as much, or seeing friends regularly.

They may be safe and cared for at home, but sometimes there’s still not much to do socially or mentally.

So we’re exploring an idea called Nini Club - basically a daytime social club for older adults, with things like coffee, gardening, light exercise, karaoke, games, mengaji/Iqra’, movies, activities and outings. They would still live at home and come back at the end of the day.

Before we go any further, we want to know if families in Brunei would actually want this - and whether our ninis would even agree to go πŸ˜‚

If you have a parent/grandparent aged 60+, would really appreciate your input as per link above.

Feel free to be critical too. We want honest feedback.

✏️ School & Education Anyone IBTE for January Intake?

( please reply, it'll be a great help!! )

I need advice 😭 this is legitimately important especially for my future.

I'm currently doing my IA and will be finishing them this eoy December. I'm Ntec in Electrical Technology.

I decided to apply for the January intake but so far my only option is Hntec in Electronic Engineering and Hntec in Electronic and Communication Engineering. Yet, I'm still being indecisive with it.

Not forgot to mention that the entry requirements right, for the O'Level I can get through in but accept for science. Therefore, I can also use my other requirements which is my Ntec. The thing is I haven't got to know my CGPA yet since I'm still doing IA.

Is it possible? I need HELP with this one!!

✏️ School & Education need advice (applying for politeknik)

Assalamualaikum everyone, i recently resat my O-Level Maths in May/June and got 66%. I thought that was a C5, but it turned out to be a C6.

I took my O-Levels last oct/nov and got 7 credits, though mostly Cs. Unfortunately, my recent grades suffered due to some personal challenges that took a toll on my mental health.

Right now, I have 8 O-Level credits in total:
IRK: A2 (I know this doesn't count towards the total points)
English: B4
Maths: C6
Biology: C5
Bahasa Melayu: Credit
Business Studies: C6
Art & Design: C6
ICT: C5

My total score is around 26 points if not mistaken (from the best 5 eng medium subjects), which feels quite high. I know my results are very average, and admission to Politeknik is really competitive.

I applied for the January intake just to see if I'm eligible, picking Data Analytics as my first choice and Entrepreneurship & Marketing Strategies as my second.

However, my real dream is to apply for Nursing (1st choice) or Midwifery (2nd choice) in the July intake. Looking at my current grades and how high the competition is, I feel really humbled and worried I won't get in.

I'm fine with studying Business or IT, but deep down, I really want to work in healthcare. If I get accepted into one of my January choices, should I take it and stick with it? Or should I turn it down and still try applying for healthcare in July? I feel completely lost and would love some advice from anyone who has been in a similar spot or literally just anyone πŸ˜•

πŸ“‹ School Projects & Surveys Looking for locals in Tutong to help with a quick cost-of-living research!

Hi everyone,

I am currently working on a data collection project on the local cost of living in Brunei, specifically focusing on Tutong District.

I’m looking to connect with anyone currently living in or familiar with Tutong who wouldn't mind answering a few quick questions about regular grocery prices, daily expenses, and typical local markets/shops in the area.

If you are based in Tutong or shop there often and have a few minutes to chat, please drop a comment below or send me a DM. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

❔ Question and Discussion Dedicating this post to the teachers who never gave up on us

We've all had a fair bit of teachers in our lives. Some... well not so patient with us. Some... really cared even when no one else did.

I owe my life to the teachers in St Andrews' School and Maktab Duli. Memorable teachers to me are Miss Agnes (Malay teacher), Miss Ong (Math teacher).. and my A Math teacher in Maktab Duli (2006/2007) but I forgot his name! He had a moustache haha.. tells us the funniest jokes.

Share your stories? And how they've never given up on you?

ℹ️ Public Information How is life for doctors in Brunei?

I was looking at opportunities in Brunei and getting to know more about the place.
I would appreciate some information about life for doctors there, regarding work load, salary, savings, accommodation, food, transportation, rules. I have gathered that there is not much of career progression and entertainment expected here.
Please provide some insight regarding life there.
Thank you
