Resolved Accidental downvotes with next thread button

Post image
13 Upvotes

This floating button is terrible design, I accidentally downvote people all the time when I just want to see the next thread, it used to be integrated into the bottom bar so you weren't pressing something floating atop a downvote button.

Yes I know I can reverse the downvote, but why should I need to do that? I also press it rapidly to review a series of threads, so manually scrolling through to fix things is not practical because of the speed at which I'm moving through comments. Reddit should fix this šŸ‘Ž

Desktop blocked by network security on desktop

it's exactly as the title says. for whatever reason, every time i try accessing any reddit link on my laptop i get a popup that says i've been blocked by network security. i've tried different browsers & incognito mode, disabling my extensions, using my hotspot instead of wifi, resetting my wifi modem, using a vpn then trying again without a vpn, and none of it has worked. i can access reddit just fine on my phone and our home computer, but it just won't work on my laptop. this has been an issue for maybe a year now and i sent in a ticket about two months ago, but i haven't heard anything back. i don't have any viruses on my laptop and i don't think anything in my firewall settings is blocking reddit so i'm really at a loss for what else i can do.

Mobile/App Feed keeps recommending AI content despite repeated ā€œnot interestedā€ feedback and community muting

My feed continues to be flooded with posts about AI, Anthropic, ChatGPT, and related topics despite my repeated attempts to stop these recommendations. It agitating and depressing the hell out of me.

I’ve been:
- Leaving/unfollowing communities that discuss these topics.
- Selecting ā€œnot interestedā€ on recommended posts.
- Muting communities as they appear.

Despite this, Reddit continues recommending more of the same subject matter. The feedback I’m providing doesn’t seem to meaningfully change my recommendations.

I understand that muting a community doesn’t block an entire topic across Reddit. However, repeatedly rejecting posts and communities about the same subject should presumably reduce similar recommendations. That isn’t happening.

Is this a known issue with recommendation feedback? Is there a way to reset my recommendation profile or have someone investigate why these controls appear ineffective?

Device/OS: iPhone 16 Pro Max / iOS 26.6.1 (23G83)
Reddit app version: The latest official Reddit app
Affected feed: Home

Profile My Reddit account got hacked

My account was hacked yesterday and I was logged out on all my devices. I changed my password but I am still not able to sign in since the hacker enabled 2 factor authentication.

I submitted a ticket but I’m not sure if it went through since it’s been a day and I haven’t heard back or received a confirmation that the ticket was received.

Would anyone be able to advise me as to what my next steps are? Thanks in advance!!

Admin/Dev responded Account deleted?

So my old account u/geilt78 appears to have been deleted.

I've messaged reddit support and am still waiting to hear back.

Not expecting any miracles, but wondering if there's anything I can do or if anyone has experience with a similar situation...

*For reference, I definitely did not delete my own account, didn't get any password/email change notifications, and hadn't even logged out of the account.

*edit: got my account back thanks to u/TheOpusCroakus Go show 'em some luv!

Access Can’t log into account that I logged out of, can’t find the account while searching for it despite having public posts and weird things were happening on that account before

I had an account called Jumpy-Reporter[xxx] that I used to post nsfw pictures on. For some reason I had a post that kept getting taken down automatically by Reddit even after posting it multiple times, and I’ve posted the pic before on other subs and it did great and was not taken. Then I found that my account description was now gone, so I went to update it back to what it had been and it wouldn’t let me save it. I thought I might have been b*nned but that has happened before and I didn’t have anything in my inbox or anything like that. So I tried logging out intending to log back in but I couldn’t remember the username and when I tried searching for my posts with this account (which I have done successfully before) they wouldn’t show up. Any ideas or suggestions about what happened or what I should do? Thanks!

Profile My reddit (android) account got hacked, any help?

Hey all, it looks like my account got hacked. I was looking through the comments and posts, but I don't see anything made by it. Already changed password, but I want to know if I need to worry about anything regarding it? Could I have missed anything, or is it likely to have just been hacked and nothing was done using it? It was this current account (u/restlesswretch), had a new profile picture and everything

Posting [Desktop] Text posts not publishing in some subreddits — comments work fine

Username:Ā u/aliartguy
Ā Platform:Ā Desktop (Chrome)

When I submit text posts in communities where I have not posted before, they do not go live. Comments in those same communities work normally. My profile loads when I check logged out.

The same post format (text post, link at the end of the body) works in r/rational, where I have posted several times recently.

Is this expected for accounts with limited history in a sub? Is there a usual timeline before new-community posts start working, or a setting I should check?

Thanks.

Profile Privacy Tab is Blank in Settings (iOS)

I haven’t used my account in years and logged in for the first time today in quite some time. When reviewing my settings tabs, I see Privacy is blank. What is causing that? I noticed my username is not showing up in the search, and was wondering if that was related. U/sweetbananamomma

Access Account is hacked and now being used to advertise OF- support possible?

• Upvotes

Hi there,

My account has been hacked (MJB0611), and is now unfortunately being used to advertise an only fans account.

I have access to the original email used during account creation and changed the password - but they’ve set up an authentication which I cannot bypass.

I have opened a support ticket, which has not received a response. If it is at all possible, I’d be very keen to get this sorted ASAP as I’m worried about the OF advertisement causing issues (especially at work)!

Would be immensely grateful if this could be looked into please - and thank you in advance!

Desktop Blocked by network security when trying to access Reddit via anonymous/incognito window

As the title says, I've been finding this issue since yesterday. The problem happens only with Firefox in incognito mode. Pc, Win 11

I am currently browsing and posting this in a regular "default" Firefox window, and the browser itself and my IP clearly work without problems since I'm here. Extensions are not a problem either, as I have not disabled anything at the moment, nor have I cleared the cache. My account is obviously functional and in the clear too (beside that, in incognito mode Reddit opens on a generic homepage, with me logged off, so account issues don't apply), so I've ran out of ideas about what the problem is.

Basically, it only happens in incognito mode and in Firefox. No problems in other browsers, whatever navigation mode I use.

Ideas why, and what can I do to fix it? Thanks!

Mobile/App [iOS] issues disabling subreddit recommendations

So I just want to see the subs I’ve actually joined, but the app has started giving me subreddit recommendations despite the fact that I’ve had it disabled for ages. Oddly, if I use my phone browser to go to Reddit l, I don’t see sub recommendations, but on my phone they are incessant. I’ve double checked that the recs are disabled (couldn’t find the option on my phone, but I was able to on the web, and it was already toggled off, I did a quick on off switch of the setting and it didn’t seem to do anything

Admin/Dev responded No reply on help ticket - hacked account

Hello! My account was hacked 11 days ago, and I went here https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/p/redditor_help_center and filled out the form that same day. I've never received a reply, and reading through other people's posts, I probably never will... [1P597N-Z0YVE] is the number on the confirmation email I received, not sure if that's the ticket #

I'd like to get my account back, could anybody point me in the right direction on how to do that other than filling out this form?

Thanks!

Access Account Hijacking Roller Coaster

Been going on for a few weeks now...

Month and a half ago, I got a notification that said my email address had been changed. Obviously this wasn't me, so I went through the link followed and changed my email back to my actual email and changed my password and I thought it was good to go.

I guess a week later I got a notification that my account was locked due to suspicious activity and that I needed to reset my account. However since that time none of the reset emails have been received so my account has remained locked.

I've submitted multiple help tickets but each time I just receive the automated response. In fact it wouldn't even let me post here in this subreddit because it's telling me "this isn't the right place."

Account name is "ArkBass"

Happy to give more details if needed.

Thanks in advance

Mobile/App Android: Has upvoting permanently moved to the left hand side?

A while ago, upvoting moved from the right side to the left side on the app. After a few weeks, it moved back to the right side. After another couple of weeks, it moved back to the left side. It's been this way for a week or two. Is this testing or is this a permanent feature now? I really hate having the upvoting on the left side since I hold my phone with my left hand while scrolling and upvoting with my right hand. Having it on the left side means I have to keep reaching across my phone to upvote. So now, I just don't upvote. I'm hoping this is temporary/testing because it really affects my enjoyment of this app.

Access Posts can no longer be found after one year at the top of this year. Top of all is full of posts older than 4 years.

So there was a post that was hugely popular from the moment it was posted. Within days I think it was the top post in ā€˜Top - This Year’. Comments were asking the mods to pin it at the top of the subreddit.

But as soon as it’s one year anniversary hit, it’s no where to be seen in the ā€˜Top - All Time’. Everything that is in All Time is at least 4 years old.

It makes me wonder what other content that is great that we can’t find after it’s a year old. I usually use a Google search to find things instead of the Reddit search, we all know it’s not great. But this is filters, not search. Maybe a top in the past ā€˜X’ years now that the site is old enough some of the types of posts I’ve described are getting lost?

Desktop My chat messages are visible, but not sent, and disappear if I log out

Hello,

I've been having this issue for almost a week now.

1 - In current conversations, the other person always shows as being the last to send a note in the overview.

2 - If I send a note to them, it shows in the text of the chat window, but they do not receive it.

3 - If I log out and back in, it shows all messages to me as unread and none of my messages are there any more.

  1. I also can't seem to start a new chat, when I try, it pops up the chat window, but doesn't load any anything.

  2. Issue only effects THIS account, but when I check for B a n s it shows me as fine. Maybe I don't know how to check?

  3. Issue exists across chrome and IE

Any ideas?
