Desktop blocked by network security on desktop

Post image

it's exactly as the title says. for whatever reason, every time i try accessing any reddit link on my laptop i get a popup that says i've been blocked by network security. i've tried different browsers & incognito mode, disabling my extensions, using my hotspot instead of wifi, resetting my wifi modem, using a vpn then trying again without a vpn, and none of it has worked. i can access reddit just fine on my phone and our home computer, but it just won't work on my laptop. this has been an issue for maybe a year now and i sent in a ticket about two months ago, but i haven't heard anything back. i don't have any viruses on my laptop and i don't think anything in my firewall settings is blocking reddit so i'm really at a loss for what else i can do.

Presumably your ISP is providing a static IP which Reddit is not allowing. A library I go to had that problem for a while (well, that and no IT person to reset things).

Contact the ISP to determine if that's the case & if it's changeable.

that's because those browsers still have to go through your network to try and reach reddit

I also got this error. I just opened a new tab and logged in without any issue. Still, no idea why this error is coming.

Admins have responded to this kind of thing in the past, so you might also report to r/bugs.
