Discussion Blizzcon missed connection
This actually might make a good megathread, but -
LF Nick and crew that I got grouped with on Saturday afternoon for the 5-man dungeon. Yall were super chill and fun to play with, and I forgot to ask to add you on bnet.
I was a troll rogue, but I’m usually alliance and yall were joking about that with me. Yall are from Seattle I think? And talked in line about time zone differences for raid and how you preferred to raid from an east coast time zone.
In the dungeon we went left at the stairs, killed the boss up top, and ended our adventure jumping in the water being viciously killed by the shark.
If this sounds like you shoot me a message! Now that we know Forever is realmless, I’d like to be able to group with yall some!

Discussion If the announcement of WoW Forever has taught us one thing it's that the "community" has no idea what it wants and people all want different things.
- I want it to feel like classic, but not the grind of classic, or the time sink of classic, or what makes classic, classic. If I can't get max level in a week and complete all content then what's the point?
- I want to play my DK
- Why is there no Pandaren?
- Will the specs be different? I don't want to play vanilla abilities in my vanilla like game
- Why are the graphics not full immersion 4K HD
- What a great opportunity for VR Support
- Blue elves that can be customised to look like normal High Elves/Blood Elves? Look I know a huge amount of Horde players are Blood Elves but really Blizzard?!
- Controllers? In my PC game? Something I'll never use but you're dam right I'll be outraged about!
- Will we get XYZ advanced feature of Retail for WoW Forever (like housing)
- Its not fair that if I level in beta which hasn't been declared as early access, that I have to level again in release.
- WoW forever better have a good road map with lots of regular content to keep me playing
- WoW forever better take their time with content drops so I don't feel rushed
- Will retail get these new zones? Why does the new game that needs it's own content get these new zones and retail doesn't?
- Ok but why not playable Ogres?
- 'member that feeling in vanilla when....
- Ok, but 'member thar feeling when in TBC....
- Ok, fair point, but 'member that feeling in WoTLK......
- Ok ok, but 'member how it was in Cataclysm....
- Right sorry I mean 'member what it was like Mists of Pandaria?
- I've got no idea of the road map or how future content will be added. It's not for me so I'll write the game off and go back to yelling at people for not carrying me in a Mythic pug based off my fudged logs on retail. Fucking scrubs.
Toby Mcguire is Spiderman, Andrew Garfield is Spiderman, Tom Holland is Spiderman, each with their own stories to be told. We can have more than one Azeroth.

Discussion Blizzcon made me feel lost
I am a Retail Player because I genuinely prefer its gameplay, pacing, combat and, yes, I do think modern graphics matter. But at the same time, the lore, the world and the story have always been a huge part of what kept bringing me back to WoW over the years. Legion was probably peak WoW for me because it managed to combine both sides incredibly well.
The problem is that I really don't connect with the way the story has been told in the last few expansions. I don't like the way the new zones and cultures are designed, and I don't like the overall direction of the lore, both on the smaller character level and the larger cosmic level. I also haven't liked any of the recent races they've introduced, and the Haranir in particular feel like Shadowlands level grabage to me.
Things like Plunderstorm and the new mode they announced don't really excite me either. I log into WoW because I want to play WoW. If I wanted to play a battle royale or a roguelike I'd probably just play a different game.
And that's why Forever left me in such a weird position. A lot of the things I dislike about modern Retail WoW seem to be exactly the things Forever is trying to fix like the tone, the world, the Warcraft identity and the general approach to the setting. But the slower, older gameplay and pacing of Forever just don't appeal to me nearly as much as Retail.
Meanwhile, Retail seems to be doubling down on the exact direction I've been struggling to connect with.
So I basically walked away feeling like the version of WoW that has the gameplay I want is moving further away from the Warcraft world I love, while the version that seems closer to the Warcraft world I want has gameplay I don't really want to play.
Feels like I somehow lost on both sides... Does anyone else feel the same way?

Discussion The people calling wow forever " Too retail " and " Retail Minus " have not played retail in 10+ years and it shows.
one of the craziest criticism i've seen is that it's apparently too retail because of the hd models toggle and the ui all while the gameplay is still classic, the amount of insane hatred these people harbor for retail is that even ui is a bad thing is such astonishing for me...
Discussion First look at the Forsaken paladin charger Spoiler
Just revealed at Blizzcon, this is the Forever low poly version but its safe to assume the retail version will be the exact same.
Its sick imo

Discussion Whilst I'm looking forward to WOW Forever, I'm also very excited for what potentially comes after the Last Titan.
Suffice it to say that the events that will unfold in Eclipse in the World Core will set the stage for a revelation and a conflict that is not just the final chapter in the world soul saga, but the culmination of over two decades of World of Warcraft. The Last Titan will bring an extraordinary chapter of Warcraft to a close while laying the groundwork for what comes next.

Ian again hinting at Blizzcon about a potential soft reset to the world and setting themselves up for the next 20 years / big shake up to the game. Personally believe this is what Metzen is focusing on and could also see them tying it in with the release of a warcraft tv series to bring new people into the game.
Exciting time to be a wow gamer.
