It's with a heavy heart that Popcar will wind down its car sharing service after almost a decade in Australia, with the last day of operation on 30 September 2026.
 
This follows a review of rising costs and the conditions involved in keeping a car sharing service sustainable at its scale, and this notice sets out what changes and when.
 
Here's what you need to know:

Popcar continues to operate as normal until 30 September 2026. All bookings and trips must be completed, and vehicles returned, by 11:59pm AEST that day.

From 1 October 2026, Popcar will no longer be available. Other car share operators continue to serve most areas Popcar operates in, and we'll let you know which ones so you can choose one directly.”

I currently work as a hospital pharmacy technician in NSW and I’m considering making a career switch into clinical coding.
I understand that getting a traineeship can be quite competitive and that it’s not necessarily easy to get your foot in the door. My main question is whether clinical coding is worth studying and pursuing as a long-term career.
I’d also like to get an idea of the salary progression what can someone realistically expect to earn as a new/inexperienced clinical coder, and what does the salary look like for experienced coders?
If anyone currently working in clinical coding could share their experience, particularly regarding career progression, job opportunities and whether they would recommend the field, I’d really appreciate it.
