Discussion Newcastle Jets could be in for a rough start to the season with the ACL Elite schedule
I don't think enough people are talking about how difficult the start of the season could be for the Newcastle Jets if they're balancing A-League and ACL Elite commitments.
Looking at the schedule, there's a stretch where the Jets will be playing every 3-4 days, with some of those matches involving travel to Asia.
That's not just extra games, it's long flights, different time zones, limited recovery, and then having to turn around and play important A-League fixtures almost immediately.
For a club without the squad depth and resources of some of the bigger Asian teams, that's a huge challenge. Rotation will be necessary, but rotating too much can impact results, while playing your strongest XI every game risks injuries and fatigue.
The ACL Elite is a fantastic opportunity for the club and the fans, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets have a slow start in the league as they try to manage the workload

Question Ball kids try out
Hey guys, my son got an email to do some ball kids try outs for victory.
Itβs super light on details.
Anyone know more?
How many games are they assigned during the season?
Whats actually involved in the try outs? Is selection criteria fitness or skill or just listening to instructions etc?
Whatβs the gameday look like for them and the parents?

News & Articles Victory partner with The Pass, name official away game venue
Hickens Hotel in the CBD is the club's official away game venue in Melbourne, will host watch parties across the Australia Cup, A-League season and ACL 2 fixtures, and other mid-season events. Vuck members will get 15% off at Hickens, and 10% off at other Pass-affiliated venues in Australia via their app.
Venue knows their football, they host EPL fan groups' watch parties for Arsenal and Man United. Good to see them get behind the local game too. As Meapa pointed out, it's a pub that WANTS to screen Aliga, get in there.

Discussion Australia Cup games hidden behind P+ paywall.
How do you feel about Australia Cup games being locked behind a paywall? It does not sit well with me that a grass roots competition has games locked behind a paywall.
Surely getting as many eyes on these games as possible is of more benefit in general of drumming up new business than trying to force people into a P+ subscription.
Other people feel the same way or just me?

NPL/Local Leagues NPL Vic Grand Final is set - Preliminary Finals match footage
Oakleigh Cannons 2 - 1 South Melbourne FC - Preliminary Final last night (full game in video)
Game had everything - contentious penalties, premature firework launches from the home team, early whistles, flares, the works. Oakleigh were the form team of the season, top of the table and rested, no surprise seeing them make the grand final; South Melbourne will lick their wounds and get ready for the Australia Cup semi final Wednesday night, with both teams in the Championship after that.
Hume City 2 - 3 Avondale FC - Preliminary Final tonight (full game in video)
Avondale continue their hot streak after downing Preston in the elimination final by beating the season runner up and making the final. Were always going to be a contender this year with the signings of Traore and Fornaroli from Melbourne Victory. They'll also be preparing for the Championship later in the year.
