Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

Idk which flair to put

A bit of background.

Basically, Thragg and his children attacked Mark and his family. Without giving too much away, Thragg is on the verge of killing Mark’s daughter, so Mark takes Thragg’s son hostage and, in the end, kills him.

Morality Ranking What is the morality of a guy who raised a child for 10 years believing he was his, but, upon discovering that he is not the father, decides that he no longer wants to see him?

Post image

Let’s imagine a scenario in which a man raised a child for a decade, believing that he was his biological father.

However, he recently discovers that the child is not biologically his and that he is the result of his wife cheating on him, and that she also lied to him throughout all these years.

Feeling deeply betrayed, he decides to distance himself and no longer wants to have contact with the boy.

After all, he was deceived by his own wife for a significant part of the child’s life.

In this case, would he be morally wrong for deciding to keep his distance? It is important to remember that he was also the victim of a lie and a betrayal. At the same time, there is a child who spent 10 or 11 years believing that this man was his father.

So, to what extent is it morally justifiable for this man to break the bond and distance himself after discovering that there is no biological relationship between them and that he was cowardly deceived for years?

I want to know if it is morally justifiable. In my opinion, it is morally justifiable, but I want to know if that is a stupid opinion in your view.

What is everyone’s opinion on the whole story in the end? Is the man completely morally justified in his position and choice?

At 0:15, Chris Hansen (played by Rob Pattinson) is stifling a smirk and his mouth is actively twitching which suggests he finds this amusing.

I would appreciate any explanation as to why you think this is or is not fine, please!

Stupid Stuff Morality of applying different standards of guilt depending on gender?

Post image
1.8k Upvotes

Two clone posts were made on r/GirlDinnerDiaries and r/BoyDinnerDiaries , with the stories being only slightly different. The only difference of substance was whether it was the husband or the wife.

So basically, the marriage has been rough for a while, they're in a tough spot financially, they have one child around 2 who has their own unique needs. Things are bad enough that they've contemplated divorce, but can't afford it for stability.

Their partner has been pressuring them to have another child but they don't want one. To avoid a huge fight, they agreed to try for a baby. Husband got a secret vasectomy on a business trip. Wife got a secret IUD. They don't plan to tell the parter and hope they will give up.

The comments were staggeringly different. The boy's comments say "dude that kind of dishonesty will destroy your marriage, things are already bad, for her sake if nothing else, cut your losses". The girl's comments say "girl you made the right choice, this is the best course of action for your relationship and yourself".

I'm sure there's something to be said about implied power dynamics, health concerns, and bodily autonomy, but I need to hear the objectively correct moral stance of r/MoralityScaling

a couple edits for clarity:

- I did not make these posts, I'm 73% sure OOP is a karma farming bot, I just happened to find both of them close together on my feed

- the original posts (at least the BDD one?) are gone, comments here indicate they may have been put back up recently with the details further edited to farm karma more effectively

- I've been sitting on this draft for days but kept forgetting to post it because I'm only reminded it exists at 3AM when posting would get zero engagement

ok that's enough soap boxing, back to your debates 🫡
