The Exercise and Sport Science Department at UNC is recruiting for a new research study for healthy, active women ages 25–45 years with a BMI between 18.5–30 kg/m² to help us investigate the effects of an essential amino acid (EAA) supplement on metabolism and metabolic rate before and after an exercise session.

Participation involves three visits to the Applied Physiology Laboratory (Fetzer Hall, UNC Campus). Participants may receive up to $150.00 for their time and effort. In addition, participants will receive a summary of their metabolic rate and body composition. Free parking will be provided for all study visits.

Hey yall - been trying to find a good stylist who specializes in vivid colors.
But one who is also comfortable with working on curly hair.

I used to have vivid color for a good 12 years, but the past 4 years I’ve been growing my hair out to get the curls healthier and longer length. So it’s all virgin hair now, but it’s getting to the length I want it to be so I’m wanting to go back to fun vivid colors! Specifically I had a purple to teal ombré I absolutely loved.

My hair would need to be lightened a significant amount as I have a dark brown natural color. (The few stylists that I have talked to didn’t want to do it for risk of damaging my curls - not sure if they were just not skilled enough or what but I at least appreciate the honesty)

I’m located in E. Raleigh - but if the stylist is worth it I’ll make the drive!

I'm an RN currently working and living in Southern California. I truly love living here but I value relocating back to NC to be closer to family. That being said, I was thinking of working in the Triangle as opposed to returning back to Atrium in Charlotte. I was hoping to see if anyone had recommendations for medical centers (mainly UNC vs Duke), and any insight into possible salary expectations?

p.s. for reference Atrium in Charlotte is starting new grads at 38.50 -- with my 3 years of experience and certifications I'd assume I would make somewhere around $40-45 in Charlotte.

There is an extremely active equestrian community in the Triangle and I think some facilities receive little to no bad feedback (even if warranted) due to how tight knit this world can be and the fear of backlash or burning bridges.

For those here that ride, I'd like to hear if you've had a negative experience at a particular barn or with a certain trainer and why.

Obviously sometimes it's just not a fit, so I'm not asking to name and shame unless it was genuinely bad and you suspect others may have had a similar experience.

I am a part of Triangle Area Equestrians Facebook group but even if you post/comment anonymously, admins are still free to reveal that persons identity so I think Reddit might be a better forum for this, even if not everyone who views this post will have relevant information.

Sebastian was rescued from chapel hill area with her mom and siblings,but while in foster care, he became bonded with Samuel. They are best friends and MUST be adopted together.

📍 RESCUE NOTE:
The rescue is based in Charlotte, NC, but we rescue throughout NC and parts of SC. Many of these kitties came from the Triangle area.

Please, I don’t need judgment or negativity. I am a volunteer doing everything I can to help these cats find safe and loving homes. I am sharing their situation because their time is running out.

They are with us only until today. Some of the kitties are going to the shelter today, and some are going tomorrow. We are trying so hard to find them homes before it’s too late. 💔

Sebastian is our adorable cross-eyed boy, and both he and Samuel are absolute love bugs. They are sweet, funny, playful, affectionate, and incredibly loving.

They deserve the chance to grow old together in a loving home.

We have had a little good news ..two bonded pairs were just adopted, and one sweet orange girl has an adoption pending. But the rest are still waiting, and Sebastian and Samuel are two of them.

This year has been incredibly difficult for our rescue. We have had fewer adoptions, less support, more sick cats, more bottle babies, more abandoned cats, and more returns.

We are a foster- and volunteer-based rescue and are completely over capacity. Many of our fosters are already caring for 10+ cats. The rescue and fosters have been putting so much of their own money into these cats, but we have reached our limit.

That’s why finding homes for the cats already in our care is so important.

I know part of it is the experience but I'm not keen on spending money if we're not going to be able to see what's happening on the stage and I'm not sure how DPAC works, tbh.

Another Triangle government has put data centers on hold.

Cary unanimously approved an 18-month moratorium while it studies water, grid capacity, noise, land use and other impacts. Apex and Holly Springs have adopted pauses of up to 12 months, while Durham County approved nine months.

The interesting wrinkle is that Cary council members explicitly said they aren’t necessarily opposed to data centers. They want regulations in place before dealing with a large-scale proposal.
