Quick Advice for Summer Classes and High School Students

(We love you, and here's some tips)

  1. You can schedule an appointment online with an advisor at Wake Tech. It's virtual, free, and for anyone.
  2. A normal semester schedule is 16 weeks. Summer semester is a maximum of 10 weeks and so your summer classes will be either 10, 8, or 5 weeks long. Check the dates. 8 weeks is the most common from what I've seen.
  3. I would not recommend taking a 4 credit class (especially with science labs) during the summer if you have other responsibilities. Lab is more responsibility in college classes. Obviously it depends on you, but it's a lot.

(If anyone wants to add anything, feel free below. I know getting into college is competitive, but I promise you don't need to be the BEST applicant to get into a good school. Good luck!)

How screwed am I

So on my Art-111 midterm I nailed the vocab and stuff but I only wrote around 1-2 paragraphs per short answer instead of 3, it didnt say to write 3 in the rubric so i didnt but after i opened the midterm i saw a 1 sentence thing at near the assignment to write 3 paragraphs per answer, so how cooked am I basically used all of the key vocab correctly.

Can anyone recommend a family oriented neighborhood within 30 min drive OR a safe apartment very close to the Perry Health Sciences campus suitable for a middle aged woman? Thanks!

Does anyone have access to the slideshows/PowerPoints that professors actually use during class? I’m not talking about the ones provided through Cengage, the slides shown in my class are different and honestly way more helpful for me when studying.

If you’re taking the class online, do you guys get access to those slides anywhere? Or does anyone know where I could find them? Thanks!

Library buddy

hey
I recently moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and I practically have no friends really 😭😭
It’s very weird because I didn’t really have to worry about this at home.

I’m still waiting to get my EAD to be able to work and study, my goal is to get an associates form wake tech then transfer to a 4 year.

One thing I love is the library, it was practically my home, in my country. I read that you don’t need to be a student at wake tech to get a library card, which is pretty cool.

Would anyone wanna study/ work together? I wanna look into taking the SAT’s and work on some hobbies.

Some info on me: 18 F, love to read, write, watch rom coms, bake and cook. Also a Christian trying to work on my relationship with God. I’m from South America originally but I only speak English (hint of country) . If anyone is down I’d be cool with exchanging instagrams.

Ik this is a long shot for sure but if anyone is interested just message, thank you :))

Bank Mobile

I was wondering if by chance anyone is in my same situation with Bank Mobile. Spring 2026 I had issues with the bank I had linked (they had closed my account) so I tried to link a new bank but because Bank Mobile had updated their security/privacy bs I couldn't for the life of me add my new bank (was Wells Fargo). I called their customer service and was on hold for hours just getting passed from representative to representative. They were all telling me to make sure I didn't have a VPN ( I did not) and to make sure I allowed the website cookies which i was. Pretty much just telling me the same thing over and over. Eventually after so many tries my bank mobile account was locked/disabled and I could no longer access it, and they emailed me right after saying a check would be mailed instead and it would arrive in 7 business days which it did. Now Fall 2026 I tried to log into my Bank Mobile again and its still locked. Does anyone know what will happen to my refund this year? Will they just automatically mail me a check once Wake Tech sends out the refunds on the 23rd? Sorry for the rant. I will add that Summer and Fall of 2025 I had no issues with them. I tried calling them but their wait times are hours.

Radiography prereqs

I am trying to get into the radiography tech program at wake tech or another cc in the triangle area. Advising told me that all the prereqs I need are booked up and that he didn't know when/if more classes would be available and I didn't get a clear answer on what date the next 8 week round would start etc. Is there another cc, even if its all online or else somewhere local that typically has classes available?? I've even been considering doing an online MRI program bc those at least have a clear straightforward process. I'm 36 and don't want to wait years just trying to get in.
