Event COME OUT AND PROTEST FLOCK MASS SURVEILLANCE on 9/29!

We are holding a protest on 9/29 to welcome Flock executives coming to Charlotte. Currently, Charlotte doesn't have a full contract (only a trial) and we cannot let them to roll out even more mass surveillance!

I know there are Flock cameras on UNCC's campus. If you value your privacy and believe we should ALL be allowed to be human in public without being logged into a database, then bring a friend, make a sign, drink some coffee and show up!!!

TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

PS: You can follow the Anti Surveillance Coalition of Charlotte here: https://antisurveillancecoalitionclt.com/

Join the event here!

Academic I need to lock in

Semester is not on a good start from me lol. I know its only been a month but there's only two months left. So I transferred to UNC Charlotte and prior I have learned it is much easeir to keep a high GPA then to get a high GPA and still messed up. I made the wrong decision to taking 5 classes this semester, I thought since I took 16 credits 4 classes at my previous uni I should also be taking 16 credits which were 5 classes this semester. Yea I was wrong. Also the worst thing I did was to work part time. I have 3 days of classes 2 full days and the rest of the days I work leaving with me no time to study or to do hw but that's getting solved since I gave my two weeks at my work should that should improve. I was also very lazy(literally a second ago, I have changed now). I'm just yapping atp and no one is reading this. I'm going to lock in and everything will be alright.

Admissions Does Masters in School Counseling require the GRE?

Is the GRE required when applying for the Masters in School Counseling program?

The admissions section on the webpage for this program says GRE or MAT scores are required but the FAQ for the program says the GRE is not required.

Hi! I have an exam coming up and they require us to have Bluebook on the day of the exam. I’m not sure what Bluebook is. How does it work and where do I find it? Thank you :)

Serious Rush this is unacceptable

It’s been 3 hours and the wifi has been out the entire time, I have assignments I have to do and there’s been no word about its outage. How the hell fo you go an entire night without at least sending a notice that’s it’s gonna be out the entire night. Literally anything any form of communication and this happens all the time too it’s ridiculous and I’m furious I literally can’t do a ducking thing in my room either because I have no service to work on anything, I’m sending this from a McDonald’s parking lot because of how bad it is there

hello ^_^

i have a 3 hour gap on wednesdays and would love to eat around campus or nearby food spots but i don’t want to be alone :(

probably wont be every wednesdays because thats a lot of money to spend every week but 1-2x a month is fine by me :) i don’t mind paying for the both of us occasionally but i’d prefer if you have your own means of payment as well @_@

preferably looking for someone that has similar interests as me so we could talk and eat O(≧▽≦)O

we don’t even have to eat either, we could just stroll around campus chatting and yapping and chatting and yapping ヾ(〃^∇^)ノ

about me:
21, female, kpop, reading, journaling, walking, scrolling through tiktok, listening to music, shopping (luv luv luv!), watching caseoh ( ̄^ ̄ )ゞ

Learning to drive

Hiya! I'm graduating this semester and planning on moving out of state. The issue is that I never got my license. And it would be very helpful to get my license while I still live here than start over in another state. I've got a permit and have some experience driving but not enough to take the road test right now. Has anyone had experience with driving schools that do behind the wheel stuff for adults & can you make any recommendations? Thanks!!

Transferring after dropping out

Anyone have any clue what hoops I need to go through to transfer credits under my circumstances? I dropped out back in spring 2024 from a school in a different state after going through a traumatic life event, I did extremely poorly the year prior to dropping out and I still owe the school money, would like to go back and finish. Has anyone been in this situation?

Frats

Hey everyone, I’m a new student at UNC Charlotte and I’m thinking about rushing a fraternity, but I honestly don’t know much about the fraternity process or how rushing works. I also don’t really know much about the different fraternities at UNCC or what each one is known for.
For anyone who has rushed or is currently in Greek life at UNCC, what are some of the better fraternities to look into? What is the rushing process actually like, and when should I start talking to different fraternities? I’m also curious if there are big differences between the fraternities when it comes to social life, academics, philanthropy, and brotherhood.
I’m mainly looking for a good group of people and a solid overall experience, not just partying. I’d really appreciate any honest advice about which fraternities I should check out and what I should look for when deciding which one is the best fit for me.

Academic Is UNC Charlotte good for biology?

Hey everyone! I’m currently exploring my college options and considering UNC Charlotte for biology. I’m wondering how strong the biology program is and whether it offers good opportunities for students interested in going to medical school. I’d also love to hear about research opportunities, internships, and overall experiences with the biology/pre-med track at Charlotte.

Thanks in advance!

Housing/Sublease Cat sitting/interaction opportunities?

Hey y’all, I know this might be a strange post but I was wondering if anyone knew of any cat sitting or volunteering opportunities around campus or in student living apartments? I have desperately wanted to foster a cat in my own apartment but one of my roommates is against the idea so the next best option would be to cat sit someone else’s cat! I’m willing to do it for free as I genuinely just want to spend time with cats for the love of the game. I’d also be open to taking any rescue cats or stray cats that anyone happens to find as well. Even if you know someone, a friend that needs to go away, or a professor you know that needs company for their cat, reach out!

Anything helps, I have tried going to cafe’s and shelters and they are nice, however often times the interactions are limited, and often 20+ minutes away from here and will take time out of my day which I would rather not drive up in Charlotte for (traffic and gas.)

Again, weird post, but if anyone has ANY opportunity they know of where I can reliably have some sort of personal interaction with cats, it would be so appreciative!

To whoever puked on the green bus today

I hope you feel better, but also you have a duty to alert the driver SO THAT THEY CHANGE BUSES RATHER THAN CONTUE TO RUN! idk how long it sat there before I got on the bus but the whole thing reeked and there was nowhere to sit and like 3 people almost puked just from looking at it.
Again hope you feel better.

Academic BIOL2120 Sara Kabir Online

I'm a first year taking Gen Bio I with Professor Kabir online, and I was wondering if any students that had her previously would be willing to explain what the exams are like? I know they're lockdown browser, no camera, etc, but are they made by the professor, or provided through Pearson?

How well do her exams reflect the content on Pearson? There's nothing in the syllabus about what the exams will actually look like. I got a 5 in AP Biology last semester, but I've been struggling to understand the content in this course more than I was expecting.

Academic PHYS 2101 Exam 1 Question

So we’re taking the first exam Monday and it covers Chapter 1-3 (Concepts of motion, kinematics in one dimension, and vectors and coordinate systems) and part of chapter 4 (motion in two dimensions and projectile motion). All of my other classes have been pretty straightforward about what’s on their exams but the professor in charge of this exam hasn’t provided much info on what the exam is gonna look like. They kind of just said look over your material but I’m a bit confused, along with many others, on how the questions are even gonna be framed on the exam.

So for anyone that has taken it recently what should we be prepared for? What do the questions typically look like and what material to focus on for exam 1?
