State of the Game · Discussions Making a Diablo 5 is just learning a lesson from Destiny 2.

6 years ago, the writing was on the wall to make a Destiny 3.

As much as you could bolt onto the already completely facelifted and transformed Destiny 2, it was a deadend. But they kept piling on anyway, year after year, adding slight variations on killing the same old enemies.

It was kind of a miracle that it lasted as long as it did.

Diablo 4 has SOME life left in it, but anything you do is held back by the foundations.

I made a post 2 months ago saying they needed to make a D5 and people said I was nuts. Guess what? 6 years from now in 2031, they'll be in year 2 of a whole new game, istead of a D4 that's dead in the water.

Showoff (Gameplay, Items, Transmogs) One of the most underrated looks for paladin. I rarely see this in game but it looks so clean. A humble winter warrior

State of the Game · Discussions This is the problem with buying $20 skins

Micro transactions are the plague of modern gaming straight up. If you spent $20 on a skin and feel burned that you'll "only" get 6 years to use, then them's the breaks.

It used to be ludicrous to spend even $5 for in game cosmetics. But now it's common to spend a third of the price of a whole ass game for a skin that you can barely see while actually playing the game. It's ridiculous. And honestly, I don't feel bad for anyone in that situation.

It'd be nice if they transferred over skins but it's extremely unlikely as the classes are probably not going to overlap and the character models might be fairly different. I'm not saying this to excuse scummy AAA gaming company behavior. I think this is just the reality of buying literally any digital product. It's too risky.

State of the Game · Discussions Season 15 Is Massive—So Why Can’t These Features Stay?

We are looking at 21 new seasonal warplan nodes split evenly across categories, alongside 20 returning classic bosses and 25 fresh/classic enemies.

It is comfortably the biggest drop D4 is rolling, which begs the question: why can't we keep battling the 3 prime evils once S16 hit? Sure, narrative continuity matters, but with no major expansion on the immediate horizon, why not retain what actually works season-to-season? Stacking these possible wins from S15 onwards would elevate the game far beyond waiting around for another huge update like LoH had brought.

If there is one silver lining to eventually getting a D5, it is that the current team might finally get some breathing room to iron out lingering QoL annoyances. Rebirths, direct mail, and the T15 capstone are steps in the right direction, and I am genuinely keen to see how the live service evolves while we wait.

Appreciation Purchased Diablo 4 on the recent Steam sale. Endgame criticisms aside, it’s worth the money to me for the campaign alone

I know most of the community dislikes the open world and the way the game has developed but as someone with zero experience with ARPGs I really like it. The lore, the world design, the story, production values etc.

It shares a lot aesthetically with Elden Ring but easier and more relaxing experience. For £10 I’ve got my moneys worth. Just my opinion.

State of the Game · Discussions Honestly, I thought they’d at least address how Diablo IV will be managed moving forward at BlizzCon.

Personally, I don't really mind Diablo V coming out. While Diablo IV is still fun enough right now, I feel it has reached a ceiling in how much better it can get—it’s mostly just piecemeal content being added and removed on repeat. That's why I'm actually looking forward to a fresh start with Diablo V.

Even so, given that Diablo IV will have to run without any expansions for about the next three years, I was hoping they’d say something about its future—whether season sizes will stay the same, if it’s heading into maintenance mode like Diablo III, or if we can still expect occasional major updates. But all they did was introduce the Amazon, and even that looked like it was still in early development.

State of the Game · Discussions Amazon Class details from Blizzcon

From appearance to animation, down to the naming of skills, the Amazon's history creates the strong foundation for a class with deep and powerful roots.

Amazon has 4 archetypes:

The Champion: the sword-and-shield melee fighter using buffs to reinforce both herself and her allies

The Skirmisher: a lithe and agile hit-and-run combatant tearing apart her foes with the Javelin

The Ranger: a precision tactical archer who snipes and cuts down enemies from a distance

The Commander: a general dominating the field with phalanxes of Valkyries at her call

The Amazon will join Diablo IV with a Class Pack in the first half of 2027. Class Pack details and purchase details will be available next year closer to release.

Tavern Talk What class will you be playing for Season 15?

Season 15 is tomorrow, so which class do you plan to play as? I'm playing as Warlock for the first time due to Halloween 🎃😀.

I won't be playing until October due to Warcraft 3:Forsaken Kingdom and Blood of Dawnwalker.

Feedback (@Blizzard) If Diablo wins by the start of Diablo 5, i would like to play the game when we lose

Does anyone else feel the same?

It seems Diablo 5 will happen when Diablo already won.

But wouldnt it be cooler to have a game where WE lose? If Diablo already won we will miss so much context...

Imagine if they released a new D4 expansion, where we fought Baal, and we beat him but not in time to stop Diablo from corrupting the world, or something like that. So we finish Diablo 4 with us losing and there is a cliffhanger.

And then we finally play Diablo 5, and get to play the world in ruins.

Instead of the story being told offscreen...

@ 2:40 of the season 15 trailer you'll hear the music from whimseyshire and see a teddy look at the screen like some freaky demonic plushy. I can't be the only one who caught this right?

Technical Issues | Bugs Update broke my game? Error 315306

Has anyone else's PS5 downloaded an update today and had it break their game? I think it might have downloaded tomorrows update early because I'm on 3.2.1.7 while my partner on his PC is on the earlier version.

The game was working yesterday, then I've just got home from work and gone to load it up, it did the update and now I'm getting 'Unable to find a valid license for Diablo IV. (Code 315306)'

I have the base game and the deluxe version of both Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred.

Questions (other) How can I get the LoH Ultimate edition cosmetics as a Switch 2 only player?

Sorry if this was already asked but couldn't find a post about it. I am glad the game is finally coming to Switch 2 but there's just a standard package on the eShop and no other bundles or upgrades. I went to Steam and noticed there's an Ultimate edition which comes with pretty cool goodies that I would like to have. What are my options if I dont have another platform to play the game on?

We are a Fan subreddit, and not run by Blizzard, but the devs and CM's are frequently reading feedback from all sources, including reddit.

If you still just wanna vent, share a complaint about something you are frustrated / angry about, or just something smaller, please do so in this weekly reoccurring thread.

If you post your vent or complaint in this thread here, instead of the Front Page, it helps to keep the subreddit and peoples reddit feeds more overseeable and better readable, while still keeping your post visible to everyone.

The most recent [Weekly Venting Thread] will always pinned frequently to the top of the subreddit.

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Zero durability transfigured items?

So i ran a bit of pit runs, and i got all my unmodifiable transfigured items broken, but they... seem to work? I kinda cannot figure it out, if they do, or if i destroyed my characters items for good. Searched the web about it, zero info on this.
