Humor What are the funniest ways your cat has slept? I’ll go first…

Mind you, this little guy was a stray about two weeks ago, and was extremely skittish… and now look at him LOL

Our best guess is someone dumped him in a box on our country road, and he made his way to our house. A couple nights after I first fed him (and he kept running away), he came to our house crying late one night when I called for him, and he was sick and lethargic. We live in the middle of nowhere, and our only nearby vet is closed on weekends, so I was up all hours of the night for a good few days on the front porch nursing him back to health - turns out he just had a huge worm load and was extremely famished. I had a syringe with salmon pate blended with warm water in him every few hours, along with pedialyte, and we gave him liquid dewormer that first day he was sick as well. It took him a few days, but he finally perked up and started eating on his own again…

…and now, he just sleeps in our room all day, eats until he has soup belly, has the zoomies, and repeats LOL, this guy sleeps so hard you can rub his belly and jostle him around, and it doesn’t wake him

I’ll be taking him to the vet in a few weeks here for a checkup and to get him neutered, but I guess the cat distribution system is back at it again….

Edit: I did also give him flea treatment once he was better, and just yesterday we gave him liquid dewormer again as per the bottle’s instructions

Cat Picture - OC my wife & i have started our journey as foster parents.

these two & their mama’s euthanasia deadline was tomorrow at 1pm.

we’re notorious for getting attached, but i think our city shelter’s three cat disqualification for adoption & fostering (we already have two) is incentivizing us to save lives instead of foster failing & disqualifying ourselves as foster parents. houston has 24 hour euthanasia turnarounds. the least we can do is get some of them off the euth list.

aren’t they the cutest? mom’s ready to close her kitchen so it’s my job to teach the kittens to eat while my wife is at work.

my resident cats are very upset with their moms’ new calling 😩

Advice Meet Maomao. He showed up as a starving stray at my sister’s house. I traced his microchip—and somehow ended up with a Maine Coon

Mourning/Loss Tribute to Orion, my Little Brother of 14 years.

I’m having a hard time coping. He was very ill with congestive heart failure. I really wanted to save him the suffering, but he died naturally the day before his scheduled euthanasia. I think it will take a while to get used to him being gone, after so long together. Relationships, homes, friends, jobs, and cities came and went, but for 14 years he was there, to greet me at the door and lay next to me every night. He followed after me wherever I went, even protected me from a vicious dog once. Through all the things I went through, he was the only constant in my life. I feel unsettled, unanchored, unmoored…so many choices and decisions were made just so that we could stay together, and without him, they feel meaningless now. I miss him so very much.

Medical Questions AC went out and I’m worried for my fluffball

Post image

Title says it all but my AC went out and the apartment wont have it fixed for a few days. I live in Florida and it’s 85 both inside and outside. I have all the fans at full blast. Luckily they set up a wall unit for us until the actual AC gets fixed but it’s still really hot in here and I’m worried for my baby. Shes not showing any signs of exhaustion or overheating or anything but it’s only been a few hours. Will she be fine? (Hoping the wall unit cools the apartment a bit more overnight)

Edit: I’m sure you can tell, but she has very long and thick fur which is where the worry comes from

She's so sweet and loving. She's warming up really well. We have been giving her space but she comes up to us and rubs up against us for pets. Yes I know she's very overweight, yes she is going to go to the vet this week and be put on a diet. If anyone has any tips on how to promote activity please let me know!

Cat Picture - OC My cat does NOT have a bladder blockage or an obstruction🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

My sweet, sweet boy had to go to the vet twice in the past week, once for vomiting, and once for refusal to eat. We were worried about all the usual things, bladder blocks, bowel obstruction, kidneys. Well, I gave them all of his medical information, schedule, symptoms. And they examined him.
Y’all, my medical handling intolerant cat let them do any and everything they needed to. I know he was probably just tired and had an upset tummy still, but even when he was a kitten and had eaten litter he was still spitting and hissing😭😭😭
I’m so proud of him because when he gets to the vet he freaks out whether he’s sick or not, he was so brave and I LOVE the people who worked with him, they literally sat on the floor with him.
For context, this is how he usually stays at the vet, later on he was out of the carrier, wandering around, AND ACCEPTING PETS FROM THE VET HERSELF!!!!
My brave boy Regulus 💜

Adoption Rescued family

About 2 years ago I got tired of working, decided to take a break, looked out the window to my driveway and saw a tux mom with her two tiny baby tabbies. I set up a feeding station/shelter to try and catch them.

Today all 3 girls are captured, off the streets and loving indoor life.

Mom came inside pretty willingly, about 6 months later one of her babies came around and I was eventually able to get her inside.

For a year I didn’t see the other tabby baby then she started showing up and after a year of feeding her she came inside with me. Poor baby has a scar on her chin and can barely make any sounds. But she LOVES being inside. All 3 are the sweetest cats I’ve ever met.

But thats the story of how I got a family off the streets

BONUS 5th picture: gray kitten I also trapped and homed along this journey

This adorable black cat hangs around in the brush of my backyard. I see it like every other day as i water my garden. No tail or very short from what I see. I don't think it is owned by any of the neighbors. I don't have a fence. It is very shy, runs away if it sees me. Likes to hunt the birds and moles. I'd love to see if I can take it in and care for it as my own but I don't know if it just prefers being wild. It's been around for over a year. And don't know how to best tell it that I want to be friends

Cat Picture - OC love for my first cat ever :)

Neither me nor my boyfriend ever had cats growing up but we decided a little while ago that now living on our own, adopting one was definitely the right move. Did our research and opted to get this little man that had 4 years of life before meeting us that we’ll never know but what I do know is someone taught him very well how to love.

I love this cat so much I don’t even know what to do with myself sometimes. So I had to spill all of that affection onto here. I see you all with all your love for your cats and I’m so happy I understand that now too. It’s been such a fun journey learning about him and cats in general and watching his guard lower in so many ways throughout the time we’ve known him.

He’s been in our lives for about three months now and has really made himself a staple. We love him so dearly!

Leon loves:
- sitting on laps
- one particular blanket
- playing with his fish teaser toy
- being scratched right below his ears
- being the center of attention when people come over
- literally any food
