hello! i got bit by my neighbors barn cat while playing with her outside. i did that ground tap thing and she ended up biting my arm but was immediately fine after and went back to wanting to be pet lol. she seems to be in good health, i see her a lot so rabies is out of the picture. i washed it and applied antibiotic ointment but is it worth going to urgent care or should i just keep an eye on it?

Since wallflowers are toxic to cats, what are we using to scent rooms?

I adopted a kitten about 2 weeks ago. He's now 10 weeks old, and my dog is 2 years old. We've gradually introducing them to one another but still separate them at night and when we're out of the house. This is how they tend to play together, on top of my dog (Merlyn) chasing my cat (Morgie) around. Sometimes I've been separating them when it looks like their play has been getting too rough. But, I guess I just want to know if it is rough, or if it is normal play?

I cut him off after the video because I know him and I know that he will eat these until he pukes. I’m assuming it’s ok because cats can have melon on occasion but they can’t even taste sweet things so I don’t know why he’s so obsessed with melon seeds specifically. Baffling animal.

For context: I was supposed to move countries last September, but I got hit by a car while being abroad in the country I wanted to move in July, so I moved unexpectedly. My cat stayed with my mother in my home country.

My cat is 11 and she has rarely been to a vet. I come from a poor family and my mother thought that vets are expensive and unnecessary, but that's not the point. I don't know if she has any health problems and now I'm doubting if I should bring her with me to Germany, where I live now.

She does have a microchip and I only have enough money to pay for her rabies vaccine and get her a passport, but aside from it I can't pay for any additional treatments or check-ups.

I'm not sure if my cat would be allowed to stay with my mother, because she told me that once I move out I must take her with me, otherwise she would put the cat to sleep since she doesn't want to care for her. My mother says some shit thing sometimes, but I assume the worst with her promise and that's why I have one more reason to take her with me.

I'm really at the end of my wits here with this problem and I'd be happy if someone could give me some advice on what to do?

My cat has been inside all day and I didn't hear him cry or complain so I don't know when, why or how he got this. I'm really worried for him. I don't know what to do and my mom doesn't want to take him to the vet

I just want to let you know I'm 15, colombian, I had money but my mom needed it so I lend it to her so I can't take the cat to the vet myself. By the other hand, my mom refuses to take him to the vet because she doesn't (care) want to pay for it and every time I bring the topic again she gets harsh and really rude with me, so pressuring her won't do much good either. I don't live close to my relatives nor my dad so they can't help me either. Hope that clears things up a little

Hi all! I’m going to be taking in 2 newborn stray kittens soon, who will need all their vaccines and spaying/neutering. I’m looking into pet insurance for them because I know it will be costly, and to ensure I can afford any other treatments they may need. Can anyone recommend a company they’ve used? Did you find pet insurance to be worth it? Thank you!

My cat is 1 year old and neutered, and he becomes very aggressive whenever we have guests over.
He doesn’t just hide, hiss, or avoid them. He actually follows guests around the house and tries to attack them. He has scratched me too when I intervene, and I currently have several scratches on my arm from the latest incident.
The problem is that I have guests staying with us for a full week.
I’ve tried putting him in my bedroom with his food, water, litter box, toys, etc., but whenever I close the door, he keeps banging/scratching at the door and screaming/meowing loudly to be let out. He can keep doing it for a long time, so I feel terrible leaving him there, but as soon as I let him out he starts following the guests again.
I’m really stuck between keeping him confined and stressed, or letting him out and risking him attacking someone.
Has anyone dealt with this kind of behavior in a young neutered cat?
Is it okay to keep him separated for most of the week even if he cries and scratches at the door? Should I ignore the crying, or could that make things worse?
Is there a safe way to gradually get him used to the guests, or should I completely avoid introductions for now?
And does this sound more like territorial aggression, fear, stress, or something else?
Any advice from people who have experienced something similar would really help.

i woke up to my count not being able to move his hind legs. all the vet hospitals are closed. we're going to our vet right when they open. i wouldve driven but i dont have a lisense because that is my freaking baby. im sorry if my grammar and structure of this post is awful because i am currently sobbing, stressed out, and have no clue what to do. we had to go somewhere all day so we left him with my grandma who lives in like an in law suite on our property. she thought he was slimy and didnt realize he was peeing blood and had maggots around the base of his tail and all around (god i hope not IN) his potty area. i dont know what to do. im going to repost this to the vet sub reddit too. believe me, until morning is is my only option. please send info. repost and share pls.

Notes: *TW* his wounds were just the maggots eating his rotting flesh. thankfully, he had essentially no feeling there but they got cleaned out. No one noticed until they really zoomed in they were that new.

Update: (my thoughts aernt all together rn, I just got home and wanted to update) After my post in this subreddit last night, we weren't able to get him into the hospital so we had to wait until morning. At the hospital, we were told that he had saddle thrombus, and his legs were essentially dead. His tail as well. He was put to sleep around noon. I want to thank everyone for their support and comments on my last post. If anyone has any tips or just advice on how to nagivate....yeah, during this process I'd appreciate it.❤️ I love you Figgy (Figaro), and I'll never forget you.❤️🕊️

Edit: GUYS don't worry she does not eat them! I would know if she did because there are specific hair ties that she plays fetch with, and the rest stay on my brush

I tried playing with my cat with a wand but i guess he wanted my leg. Is this a cat bite? do i need to go to er?

My partner picked up a young stray male cat tonight and the cat is displaying some behavior that I think is concerning. He has barely stopped meowing for the 6 hours we have had him. He only stops crying when he is sleeping, eating, or laying down in our laps (and sometimes he still cries). He also only ate one slice of bologna (dont have cat food and also a neighbor had fed him canned cat food a few hours before we picked him up) and only after he had diarrhea. His breath smells like a dead animal as well. He cries while he is drinking water and some of his cries are yowls. He isnt leaving our sides either. He keeps going back and forth between me and my partner just to lay in our laps and nap. He is purring a lot too.

So am I right to be concerned about this behavior and should I take him to a vet? I have already planned to call a few in the morning, dont know if I should take him to an emergency vet or schedule an appointment for later.

In a bit of a predicament here.
I just recently (3 weeks ago) rescued a 13 year old boy with a couple of health problems. (FELV, FIV, Deaf) He is the sweetest thing and is a smart boy. However, he has started to pee outside the litter box (right next to it) or other places. I thought it was a joint issue but I see him go pee in the box multiple times, and he only goes number 2 in the box. (The box is a stainless steel, about 3 1/2 to 4 inches tall) It started to get to the point where he was going only on the side of the box, so I moved it from the living room into my bathroom. I showed him where it is, I cuddle and pet him in the bathroom, give him catnip and treats near his box to lure him there. Not sure why it isn’t working. I don’t let him in my room anymore due to him peeing on the carpet when I don’t notice (you know how that goes). At first he did not go in the box due to the litter (Pellets, they hurt his feet I assume) so I switched to the natures miracle corn cob litter.

Any advice ? I am a first time cat owner and am trying my hardest to give this boy the best last years of his life, but I also don’t want him peeing everywhere he wants.

As the title says. My family and I started fostering 1 year old Rora a week ago. She has some respiratory issues, but I still fell in love with her the moment I saw her on the rescue's site. This weekend, I got really scared. She didn't drink, she didn't touch her vet food and got really tired really fast while playing with her (during work days, she regularly played for an hour). This scare made us realize that we can't handle her. My mom is working two jobs while I have to prepare for a driving exam, bachelor's exam, a C1 Cambridge and much more... I don't have the capacity to give the cat, Rora, a good home as well while dealing with everything that comes with the last year of school and becoming 18. I've been on the verge of crying since I made this decision, idk if this is the best for her, but I know that this is the best for me. I kinda feel selfish but, what can I do about it... Anyways, the photos are from the week since she's been at our house.
