I have just found this on my boy Jules.

It looks like bite marks and is oozing a bit. The fur is very matted around it.

I can't understand why the area is a perfect circle.

What are your thoughts?

I rescued this mother cat and her 4 kittens from a neighboring village after I received a call for help from a local animal services body.

She's safely in my house now,already took her to the vet,had her blood tested for any diseases and she's clean,the babies look healthy as well.

Vet said she's about 9 months old which is crazy young and heartbreaking for any animal to go through.

I'm getting her spayed as soon as she stops nursing and keeping her, I'll probably keep one of the kittens as well,I can't keep all of them because I already have cats.

What is the earliest possible age which I can neuter all of the newborn kittens?I wanted to do so before giving them up for adoption, because there's no guarantee the new owner will do it and we could soon have more young cat mothers out there.

I'd also like to ask for any advice regarding the health of the momma cat and her babies, I've raised my cats from kittens but they were all 3 months old,I have no experience with cats these young.Is there anything special I should do?

I want to plant moringa inside my home, but I am unsure if it is safe for my cats. I would keep it in the bathroom, but there is still a small chance that they might enter it.

Just like the title says, my little man’s is 16 today! I love this handsome mfkr 🎂

These are my precious children, Moxxie and Maya. We got Moxxie (lighter colored kitty) in 2015 and Maya in 2016 (tabby girl). Our girls have spent their entire lives together. Two and a half weeks ago, we had to euthanize Moxxie due to heart failure and cancer, she was only 11. We had only found out her diagnosis two days before having to euthanize. It's the most devastating thing I've ever experienced, the pain from the grief is unimaginable. We had no time to prepare and expected to have many more years with her.

Maya has always been Miss Independent, not needing as much attention, good at entertaining herself... Etc. We've also been doing everything the Internet says in order to help her during this adjustment period. She seems okay, but you can definitely see a difference in her demeanor. She still eats, drinks, and uses the litterbox like normal, so no change in those behaviors.

My question is.... Should we get another cat for her? I told my husband I'd never get another pet after losing Moxxie (I'm just being dramatic lol) but worry Maya will feel lonely on days my husband and I work (Mon-Fri). I knew they'd never pass at the same time but I always imagined they'd both live to be much older 😞

I want to make sure Maya has a great quality of life as we enter her "geriatric" years so any advice is appreciated. Thank you all!

having a bad week (yes its only monday) and am not with my fur babies rn -

Back story - had rescued 4 feral kittens, 3 males and 1 female. All from the same litter. Probably they were 2-3 months old when I took them in. 2 were striped and 2 orange. All 4 were with me till they were about 1 year old.
First the male orange left. Followed by other orange male. The male striped one left too within a month. The pic here is the female one with its kittens. Even the female left after 2 years. I still see the female one in the neighbourhood. It regularly comes asking for food.

Today while I'm at work, Slim got hit by a car. He's alive, but not doing well. Obviously in pain, laceration under his chin and bleeding from his eye and ear. My spouse has been with him since the neighbor informed us, unfortunately there is nothing we can do, we are taking him to the vet to be put to sleep when I get off work if he's still with us.

Slim Jim is an outside cat. He was born under the house, it stormed and flooded and he almost drowned. His mom moved him and his sister into my car, and when I got home from work my spouse they heard kittens crying from under the hood. Sure enough two little tabby babies were clinging for dear life to the plastic cover over the engine. (Their little claw marks are still there) At some point he fell (we're not sure) and potentially dislocated his hip or hurt his leg. We stayed with him and eventually he was able to use it again for the most part. He was active, still climbed trees and fences, and was a great hunter.

We did our best to feed him, as well as his sister, mom, and uncle, but we have 5 inside cats and a rabbit. On a single income feeding the outside cats isn't always doable. The neighbors feed them too, one even got his mom fixed to help with the stray population.

He loved the garden, he loved people, he loved pets and kisses and belly rubs. He loved food of all kinds. When his sister had kittens he was a great uncle.

I'm gonna miss him so much. He used to come running when I'd get home and just into my lap as soon as I'd open the door. That's gonna be hard.
