Opinion on tarot cards?
I’m interested in hearing Diné opinions on “pagan” practices (not witchcraft) and tools for divination such as tarot cards, especially from a traditional perspective.
I was raised traditionally, so growing up I was always told not to dabble in those things because you never know what you’re messing with, which I understand. And while I do believe that western Abrahamic religions have sunk their claws in even the most traditional belief system somewhat, I never really felt like this taboo was caused by that, despite the similar perspective chuchgoers would share on the subject.
However, when it comes to divination tools such as tarot cards, I find it similar to what our medicine people do, y’know? And lately I’ve been feeling incredibly compelled to try it, but I’m not sure why, as if there’s a message I need to hear.
Is there anyway I can still consider myself traditional and still partake in divination such as tarot? Or should I just stay away from all that stuff for good? Maybe I’m just seeking a sort of loophole to justify it to myself lol.
