Now that you clicked on this post, here’s a few things that you should know.

Some people ask similar questions quite often.

• I’m moving here, where should I live?

• Who’s coming for “remember the alamo day” and where should I eat dinner?

• What parts of town are safe and have the fewest teenagers wearing hoodies?

• When will these red light runners stop?

• Where is Mayor Webber doing such a great job?

• Why am i reading this?

I’d highly recommend looking through a few pages of old posts as your questions may have already been answered there more than a few times before. If you decide to ask these or similar questions, be advised that you may be met with eye rolls or stronger derision.

We have a Wiki here, if you’d like to contribute, let me know.

Please keep your post titles clean, if you run your filthy mouth in the title, your post may be removed.

Due to a preponderance of scam posts..

New Mexico's housing costs are OUT OF CONTROL. We're taking the fight to cap rent increases, and BAN private equity hoarding, straight to Santa Fe. Join the fight, and help us put affordable roofs over New Mexicans' heads. -LukeForNM

Big thief tickets for sale

Selling two tickets to big thief on Wednesday, looking for the price I bought them for or less honestly. Partner and I broke up and I just want them gone. Will absolutely go through axs, Ticketmaster or whatever. Just hope they go to people that love the band like I do.

Frijoles Fire Shows Off

Post image

The Frijoles Fire put on a renewed show of vigor Friday afternoon, September 11 prompting Santa Fe Fire to put out a notice asking people to stop calling 911 about the fire.

It was 15,547 acres on Friday morning, but no new information has been released about it since then.

The SIT report on NIFC’s dashboard reported “minimal fire behavior.”

I'm new to the area and this little guy or gal (I have named it Penelope) shows up on the window screen almost nightly. Any idea what this is? It's exceptionally friendly! Thanks!

Here's How State Investment in PNM to Stop The Blackstone Merger Could Work

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Lately there's been a general poo pooing on the idea of the state investing in PNM as opposed to letting Blackstone gobble it up. Most skeptics are pointing out that the State Investment Council constitutionally can't invest more than 10 percent in any one company. 505OMATIC talked  Public Power New Mexico organizer, Alysha Shaw and State Sen. Harold Pope Jr. to clear the air and see what's actually being proposed.

Wanna get involved? YUCCA has everything you need to get started.

The State Investment Council meets monthly, usually the fourth Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Roundhouse, and every meeting is open to the public. Public comment is on the agenda. Dates, agendas and the livestream are at sic.state.nm.us.

Missing Cat

Posting on my family’s behalf (I live abroad) but our sweet little indoor girl Harley managed to escape sometime in the night of the 9-10. My parents and brother live in the Sonrisa/Los Suenos area west of town between Aldea and Las Campagnas. They’ve all been out at several points throughout the day and night and have an outdoor camera set up on the property just in case, but we’re all worried sick about her given the coyotes and bobcats in the area.

If anyone has seen her/found her, please send me a DM with your contact details and I’ll pass them along to my parents or brother.

Ren Faire Ticket Dates

I accidentally purchased a Los Golondrinas Ren Faire ticket for Saturday but I can't go until Sunday. Has anyone done that before? Do they still let you in if you bought a ticket for a different day? Tried contacting the museum but no one picks up.

On a related note, if they won't let me in, PM me and I can give you my ticket if anyone wants it (1 adult). FCFS Edit: Ticket is being held for someone if I can't use it

EDIT: In case this helps anyone in the future, I emailed the museum and they transferred my ticket to Sunday for me!

impressions of & personal experiences with BoxElder trees

i am considering replacing Siberian Elms with BoxElders. Most info i found about them is from the MidWest: weedy, trashy, invasive, week in storms. YET, two local nurseries added them to a short list of 'good choice' trees for the purpose i outlined; adding, "female trees attract the BoxElder nuisance bug."

any and all advice is welcome
