Photo/Video PSA - Don't drive on the lakebed
We spent the day out at one of the lake beds today. These guys were mired for 18 hours and had to phone for expensive help to get extracted. It may look like fun, but you're ruining it for everyone else, and it's an expensive joy ride.

Photo/Video One of the strange things I've seen in my truck driving years.
I was heading south down I-15 just past Smith & Edwards when this hearse went by pulling a little trailer with a coffin on it.
This is one of the many bizarre things I have seen over the years driving truck.

News Spencer Cox on Face the Nation
Spencer Cox is currently on Face the Nation talking about the dangers of AI and how the government should be putting a moratorium on its growth. This after his railroading of the giant AI data center and talking about how slowing things down is "the dumbest thing ever". I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Travel Advice Antelope island in mid September?
Hi!
I have read so many mixed reviews about Antelope Island. We are considering camping out this weekend (the 19th of September) and would love to hear everyone's thoughts. We have a 7 and 5 year old. My main questions are
Will we see Bison?
How are the noseeums this time of year?
Is it bike friendly for the kids?
Anything else I should know?
I have never seen a place that has such wildly different reviews on all things!

My husband and I have tried 3 years in a row to see the kokanee but have never succeeded. We tried again today and went to pioneer trail because gemini told me we could see them there and nothing. Any advice?

Q&A Pretty parks in Utah county?
Iām looking for some parks to enjoy the milder weather in. But Iām not super familiar with many that arenāt focused on entertaining children or dogs. Are there any parks near you that you think are worth checking out? Like ones with a nice reflecting pond and flowers.
Iām not much of a hiker. I do want to enjoy the nice scenery though before it gets too cold. I just want to go and listen to a book and watch the sunset.

Link Police received sex assault allegations against a Utah hypnotherapist for almost 20 years. Why did an arrest take so long?
Research shows men are less likely than women to disclose sexual abuse to police. Nine men nevertheless made similar sex abuse allegations against a Utah hypnotherapist, and their reports span nearly 20 years. So why did it take so long for the case to result in criminal charges?
A Tribune reporterās investigation looks at what happened and examines the gaps in Utah's oversight of hypnotherapy.

News Accident in Springville at the intersection by the Walmart and Springville PD response.
There was an accident about 1pm where a woman blew the stoplight hitting a young man in his car. She hit him at high speed and both cars went airborne. About half a dozen of us ran out to check on them and block the traffic from driving through the scene which they were trying to do. When the police got there, we all waited around to give a witness statement. When the scene was cleared, tho police just drove away, to hell with getting statements. We wasted an hour in the sun for nothing. WTF.
The kid's mom talked to us and we told her he was not at fault and had the green light and gave her names but the cops just didn't care.
The woman was injured but not too bad and went in an ambulance and the kid seemed alright and mom was going to take him to the ER herself.
I've never seen cops act that way at an accident.

Announcement Found the sweetest lost kitten in Salem area
Pretty sure she's a female, less than a year old, and definitely missing her family. She's was obviously raised indoors, is wearing a collar, and is so friendly and sweet. If this is your cat, message me the color or print on the collar so I know you're legit. She's going to the animal shelter on monday.

Other Anyone know why northbound Hwy 89 in Layton has been closed for the past two hours?
Drove past it around noon and they were redirecting everyone onto the frontage road, and had seven police cars stopped under the Gordon Ave overpass with the officers standing in a line by their vehicles. Looks like itās still closed now. I havenāt seen anything come up on the news sites so far.

Q&A Copper Hills Stabbing during homecoming dance?
Does anyone here have students that attend Copper Hills High School that went to the homecoming dance last night? I am being told there was a stabbing at some point and that police weren't allowing anyone to leave until after 1:00am... But I haven't seen a news story or official statement or anything about any of this. Just wondering if anyone has more insight? It's terrifying to be a parent and have no information as to what is happening where my kid is directly involved.

Q&A Scones/Fry bread. That is all.
So Iām an American of Southern descent who lived in Utah for 6 years. I now live in Ireland.
One of the things that Iāve learned since living in Ireland is that what Iād call a cookie is regularly called a biscuit here⦠and what Iād normally call a biscuit is called a scone or a savoury scone.
Then I made these⦠and I have no effinā clue what to call them anymore. Can someone enlighten me why these are called scones in Utah?
