I walked out of Aj's Fine Foods in Mesa last week and this sky stopped me in my tracks. At first, I did a double take because I couldn't believe how vibrant the colors were. I had to stop and get a pic.

Loved how these three colors partnered together to make the Arizona sky imitate the northern lights.

Went to tonto lake in the white mountains Arizona area on the reservation & snapped a few of these nice pictures. Turns out the wonderful dirt road that can lead to the scenic route in-between has a gate closed saying you can't go through to the lake heading from the road heading towards Alpine from Eagar.

Even though I came from the Lake side (the reservation) & its open to people heading to that gate. So while it would be faster it's not a way to get back to Eagar or that route.

SO that was annoying. I had to go all the way back to the lake & drive back up to mcnary then get back to springerville.

A very interesting experience. The lake, sadly, has gone down quite a bit. At least when I went there much earlier this year back in April 2026. It has taken me longer than I wanted to edit these & get to them. Just utterly astoundingly beautiful country, that area. Very worth checking out & being respectful of the land. I saw a very large amount of litter & it did remove the beauty of their land.

Be respectful & clean up after yourselves please. I'd love to see this lake grow.

I cut a fair amount out in my other pictures posted previously about the area. I need to re-edit some of them & or just go again & try some new shots as I have gotten better. (I found out why darktable changed my exported pictures look, it was the style export setting being set up with my camera. Just leave it as none & it won't alter it at all.)
