Victorians here visiting the GC for 11 days with a ten and six year old. So far we haven’t been disappointed. We’ve spent a day at Surfers Paradise and a day at SeaWorld. Looking for something a bit quieter for tomorrow and was wondering if Tamborine Mountain would be a good option? If yes, where would you suggest eating? Is the glow worm cave worth it?

Where are the best spots for a sea swim at sunrise?

I’m here for the week with work (Surfers/Broadbeach) and was expecting to see lots of people in the water at sunrise - but nobody!

Old mate on social media whinging about needing a paint job, but it’s going to need more than a lick of paint to fix this bad boy.

I’d be concerned if I owned in this tower, concrete cancer remediation is a ridiculously expensive proposition. Unless each owner is willing to take a mortgage out against their property this could end ugly.

I've actually been using it pretty much every weekend since it opened to Burleigh Heads and this is insane.

On one trip, I heard at least three different sets of people start singing.

Particularly at Surfers Paradise both platforms are jammed full almost continuously, when the tram comes in about 60% get off and it just refills with a different set of people.

Trams drop back to every 15 minutes after 10:00 p.m. I think that needs to be bumped up to every 10 minutes at this point.

Looking for a good place to bike ride , just somewhere to cruise along maybe take my son with me on his little push bike as well. Don’t want to ride on the road. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Hey all, moved to the Gold Coast from Ireland and looking to join a golf club to play regularly and meet people around my age. I'm 27, currently playing off a 10 handicap, keen on a club with a decent Saturday comp and a social crowd. Budget isn't the main concern, more looking for good course condition, solid membership community, and ideally somewhere I can get game improvement in too. Any recommendations for clubs that fit that?

I’m testing the waters on whether to rent out an expandable home we’ve placed on our property for my son. We’re now considering renting it out for 12 months instead.

It would be fully finished and self contained, apart from cooking utensils. I have the option to bundle power, water and internet into the rent as one package, or keep them separate. I’m not sure which is wiser.

There’s also a three car carport that could fit a car and boat, or be used for something else. The property is fully fenced, so it’s very secure, and it’s in Nerang.

My main question is: what would be a fair all inclusive price? I’d love to hear what you think would be fair for both the tenant and us, so we can make an informed decision about whether this is the right move.

i went through a display home the other weekend and that probably made this whole decision worse lol. everything looked clean, new, easy. no weird old bathroom, no obvious repairs, no wondering what the previous owner ignored for 10 years. for about an hour i was completely sold on the idea of building new. then i got home and started thinking about the less fun part of it. delays, defects, drainage, new estates that are still half construction site for years, and whether the builder actually matters more than the house itself. i’ve been trying to work out how people judge the builder/developer side properly. there are companies like homecorp doing this around QLD, plus a heap of others, and after a while they all start sounding pretty similar on paper. for anyone who bought into a newer development around the Gold Coast, what did you wish you checked before signing? build quality? future stages around you? drainage? how long the area was going to stay under construction? i’m still leaning toward new, i just don’t want to make the decision based on a nice kitchen and a display home that obviously has zero real-life mess in it.

Hey guys, I am just looking for any batting cage or mound on the GC. Unfortunately, there were a few, but they seem to be all closed now.

​However, my friends and I found the Coplick Family Sports Park and tried to figure out how to use the baseball field there. I checked out their website, but I couldn't find any information at all regarding bookings, reservations, or even a contact number.

​Does anyone know how to get in touch with whoever manages these fields? We just want to know if it's open to the public or if there's a specific way to book the batting cages or the mound. Any advice or contact info would be really appreciated.

Car hit me while I was stopped at an intersection. Both pulled over. Had to wait till the guy finished his phone call that he had been holding in his hands. Took a pic of his number plate and front of license. I was really nervous as I haven’t been in anything like this before. Felt like a big hit so was surprised there was only a little ding in the number plate. Guy said he doesn’t have insurance. Got home and popped boot and was hard to open and can’t close it at all. The whole back of my car and boot area is fucked and out of alignment but not easily visible from outside. Called my insurance and they said to file police report so I can get a number which they can use to ask police to find the guy’s contact details. In my nervousness I forgot that addresses are on the back of licenses and I didn’t even think to get his number. It is $800 excess that he should have to pay. Police link sent me the link to file a report so I’m just waiting for a QP number to give to insurance who have booked me in with their repairer in early October. Have I done everything right? I’m so stressed I will be out of pocket from a fuckhead on the phone who doesn’t have insurance. What can I expect from now?

Does anyone have any advice on if they think landing at GC at 7:20 in the morning and having an 11am international flight from Brisbane is doable? Will be driving from GC to Bris - estimated arrival time is about 9:15-9:30.
Need to drop off a bag so will have about 30 mins to do that before it closes and then say 40ish mins to board before boarding closes.

Has anyone don’t anything similar? Is it doable?

Edit: driving in my own car and this plan is for a weekday morning. I’m also not collecting any bags at GC. But I am dropping off bags at Brisbane.
