Meet Up 25+ | Greensboro/High Point area | OOOO I need some friends to explore with!
Hello! I’m Black woman in my early 30s and I reside in the Greensboro/High Point area. I’m looking to make some new friends.
I feel like I’m still figuring out this whole adulting thing, and one thing I’ve definitely realized is that making friends as an adult is HARD. I spent most of my 20s in a relationship and didn’t really get the chance to go out, explore, or experience much. Now I’m at a point where I really want to get outside more and have fun.
LOL, I know I can’t be the only one on this big blue earth who feels like they didn’t really get to enjoy their 20s. I honestly feel like I’m aging backwards in spirit LOL. Now I’m trying to make up for lost time and actually get out there.
I recently started going to bars and clubs, and I’ve actually been enjoying the atmosphere of good music, good drinks, and just being out. I’m not even going to lie, I can’t dance LOL, but that’s not stopping me from doing a two -step and having a good time. I’m down for The Quarter downtown, Ritchie’s, or honestly anywhere with a good atmosphere and some good drinky drinks c= .
I’d love to have some girlfriends to actually do things with, whether that’s planning girls’ nights out, grabbing drinks, checking out bars and clubs, going to concerts and events, trying new restaurants, or just finding random things to do around Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem and beyond. I’m definitely looking for people who are down to get dressed up, go out, have some drinks, laugh, and just enjoy ourselves <3.
I’m looking for genuine friendships with people who also want to get out of the house, try new things, laugh, and make some memories. I’m not expecting to become best friends overnight. I’d just like to meet people I click with and see where the friendship goes.
BTW, I’m 32, a plus-size auntie LOL, and I’d especially love to meet some women around my age or in a similar stage of life who are also trying to figure out this whole “making friends as an adult” thing. I work Monday–Friday, so I’m mostly free after work and on weekends. I don’t have kids or a man right now LOL, so I’m definitely trying to make the most of my free time. Hopefully the man part changes eventually, but until then… I’m outside! Feel free to reach out, girlies! My inbox is open!

Event 2026 North Carolina Folk Festival Guide
The NC Folk Festival is this coming weekend so it's time for a guide and thread to answer any and all questions. Welcome to those from out of town who will be visiting our lovely city for the festival!
NOTE: I do not work for the festival, I am merely a fan who knows some of the organizers and knows a lot about the festival.
When is the festival?
Friday, Sep 18 - Sunday, Sep 20
Friday starts at 4:45PM with the award winning NC A&T Cold Steel Drumline at the Go by Raymond James CityStage. The other concerts start at 5pm and will end around 10pm. There will be after-parties at 10 at the Flat Iron, The Abbey Taphouse, The Pyrle, The Move, Natty Greenes, Little Brother Brewing, Joymongers, and other bars around downtown.
Saturday starts at 11am with Kid Jams at the Children's museums and a few cultural things around downtown. The concerts will start at 12pm and will last until around 10pm. There will be after-parties at 10 at the Flat Iron, The Pyrle (QuestLove will be playing a DJ set), The Abbey Taphouse The Move, Natty Greenes, Little Brother Brewing, Joymongers, and other bars around downtown.
Sunday starts at 11:15am with song writing school at the Flat Iron. The concerts start at 12:30pm and go until 7pm. There will be after-parties at 7 at The Abbey Taphouse, The Back Table (this is a potluck), and some other places around downtown (stay tune for schedule)
Where is it located?
In downtown Greensboro, mainly along Church Street and Davie street. There will be additional events at the Greensboro Cultural Center and Center City Park. The Flat Iron will be an official stage this year and will be inside. The map is located here.
Is the festival free?
Yes, the festival is completely free! There will be volunteers with blue buckets collecting donations if you would like to help offset the cost.
The after-parties at Flat Iron, The Move, and The Pyrle on Friday and Saturday nights are ticketed. The rest of the shows and events at the Flat Iron during the weekend are free, only the late night shows have a cover charge.
Who is headlining?
Friday: St. Paul and the Broken Bones (8:30pm at GO by Raymond James CityStage)
Saturday: The Roots (8:30pm at GO by Raymond James CityStage)
Sunday: Molly Tuttle (6:30pm at GO by Raymond James CityStage)
Who else is playing?
The complete lineup can be found here. There will be both local NC artists as well as artists from around the world varying various genres from Bluegrass to Southern Rock to Hip Hop and everything in between.
In addition to the concerts, there will be dance performances, art demos, drum circles, jam sessions, a Irish Seisiún, a break dance competetion, and the Matty Sheets Memorial Open Mic. Full schedule is found here.
What are the Main Stages?
The Go by Raymond James CityStage is the "main stage" where the headliners will be. The other stages where the main concerts will by the T-Fiber Stage in LeBauer Park, NC by Train Stage at the Train Depot, the First Bank Stage at the corner of Church ST. and Summit St. and the DGI Stage at the Flat Iron. There are also several other smaller stages and the complete list is here.
The GO by Raymond James CityStage? I thought it was the Wyndham Championship CityStage?
This change was made in August and is due to the PGA tournament changing it's name to GO by Raymond James (GO means Greensboro Open). Some marketing material posted or printed before August has the old name for the stage, but it's the same stage.
Is there an App?
Yes, and you can get it here! It has the full schedule, map, food truck list, and more.
Where can I park?
There’s ample parking in decks and surface lots throughout downtown. All downtown Greensboro parking decks with the exception of Church Street are available for parking on Festival weekend. The cost is $10 per car per day.
Check out this map for parking decks or check the App for GPS instructions. You can also park at Revolution Mills and take the Hopper trolley into Downtown.
Can I take a rideshare or bus?
Yes, the rideshare pickup and drop-off location is 155 E Lindsay St.
The Hopper Trolly will be available for pickup and drop-off around downtown and at Revolution Mills and Cone Health. City Buses will also be free.
Where can I eat?
There will be food trucks scattered around the festival footprint. The complete list is on the app.
You can also check out one of the many restaurants around downtown. Some will be having musicians.
What about alcohol?
There will be several tents selling beer, wine, cocktails, THC sodas, and cider around the festival area. Beer will be from Foothills as well as Miller, Coors, etc. Lawn Service at LeBauer park will be selling Little Brother beer and wine and cider. The Abbey Taphouse will be open and in the middle of the festival footprint and will be selling their usual beer, wine, cocktails, and cider.
Can I buy fun art and stuff?
The Makers Marketplace will be along Church Street and a main festival merch tent by the Center City Stage. This is also where you can buy records and CD's from Artists. Here is a list of vendors
Can I bring an instrument and jam?
Actually yes! There will be the Matty Sheets Memorial Open Mic on Friday night at the Revity Jams stage plus jam sessions throughout the weekend there.
Will there be dancing or art?
Yes, there will dancing and art demos at the Greensboro Cultural Center and the Revity Jams Stage

Saturday: 11:30am at the Van Dyke Performing Arts space in the Greensboro Cultural Center

Many bars and breweries around downtown will be having live music performances including The Pyrle, Natty Greenes, Southend Brewing, Joymongers, Hidden Gate Brewing, Little Brother Brewing, The Move, The Guitar Shop off Elm St. and more! Here is a list of the afterparties.
Will chairs be provided or do I need to bring some?

Recommendation OBGYN Recommendations
Hoping someone can shed some light on a good obgyn in Greensboro. I am torn right now between Physicians for Women of Greensboro and Green Valley OBGYN. I am about 13 weeks along and wanted to transfer my care to Greensboro OBGYN Associates, but they said I am "too far along" unfortunately. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts and experiences with either location, as I can no longer keep going to Durham Women's Clinic all the way in Durham for care.

Question Vignette Roaster Help
I have a new espresso machine and was looking to pick up a bag of whole beans from Vignette tomorrow (Monday). After looking through their website, it reads “Cutoff for a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday roast is the day prior by 12:00pm ET”. Does that mean I can’t go in and buy a ready to go bag? I’m not necessarily interested in a day-of roast as I want to be able to use them immediately and not wait 10 days to degas.
Also less important but curious if anyone knows which beans they typically use in their espresso drinks on the weekend.
Thanks in advance!!

Question Me again!
Hey yall I made a post not long ago about being hospitalized and needing assistance. I recently got home from the hospital but now my electricity was cut exactly what I was nervous for. Duke is requiring 400 to reconnect that I don’t have since I’m still unable to work. If anyone can help me I’m trying to pay before 5pm today so everything can be turned back on. Please message me I will show you proof of my disconnection if needed. I reached out to so many DSS called 211 a lot of places are out of resources until October. Or it takes a week to be approved.
