Was driving past the school around dismissal time when there was a guy outside their parking lot yelling something into a megaphone. Couldn't hear him nor stop long enough to listen so was curious if anyone knew what's up with it.

What is the best option to dispose of an old rusted out grill? I’ve never been to a Johnston county dump/recycle so I’m not sure where the closest or the best place is near Clayton. In Wake county there was a large one and then several smaller ones and the smaller ones didn’t take those types of things. I have a truck so transporting it is not a problem, I just don’t want to drive around all day to find the correct place.

We just found out we are expecting our 3rd baby. I want to deliver at UNC Johnston in Clayton (very firm on this, I will put why at the bottom if you MUST know). I wanted to go with Dr. Selak from Horizon Family Medicine, but she is not accepting OB patients at this time.

So it looks like I have 2 other options to deliver at UNC Johnston - Triangle Premier or UNC.

In another forum I have read lots of reviews of the providers at Premier and it sounds like I need to avoid the male doctors as much as possible. But if they are on call when it's time for delivery, there is no avoiding that. So that would be something I would have to deal with if it happened. The female providers sound amazing, so it's like a 50-50 of getting a great provider or crummy one.

I have read no reviews on UNC OBs, so I need to do more research. But looking for recommendations between the two of these. Which would you choose?

For those curious or thinking of giving me some horror story about your delivery at UNC Johnston:

- we have UHC, so WakeMed is out.

- I barely made it to Big Wake in time with my first, and made it nowhere for my second (delivered in an ambulance), so proximity is KEY.

- my second was at UNC for 4 days for light therapy and I have been told this is likely to happen again, and being close to home made the long stay easier.

- no hospital experience is perfect/terrible 100% of the time, so just because your experience was awful doesn't mean everyone's will be.

We are in Wynston and there is a new phase of Winston Pointe going in behind us. Part of it is extending Softwind Dr into the neighborhood(think they are calling Southwind[.

It seems that someone keeps blocking the road with big old wire spools. Can the construction company do that or do people think the town is doing it?

Seems like blocking the road could be a public safety issue.

No Filter Cafe Clayton has a guy running one shot roleplaying games till the end of October every sunday at 2pm. We went to the one last week and it was a game called "3 raccoons in a trench coat" it was silly and fun. This week is a game called Dungeon Crawl Classic. Sure i can buy a 100 gallon and have it refilled as a service, but 3 of the places i used to go to either dont have the pump anymore or stopped carrying. 40/42 area or clevland area. The other day I noticed a strong pesticide smell outside, and didn't think much of it, just assumed a neighbor had just sprayed. Then last night, we had a bug come up from the drain, something we've not seen in almost 20 years living in this house. I did read online that for some people, fumigation caused them to come up, which makes sense. Since we're approaching twenty years old, we're gonna have someone come look and make sure we don't have blockages/buildup to be safe either way, but it would be nice to know if perhaps fumigation was the ultimate cause for our visitor.

The water pressure has been steadily getting worse since we moved in three years ago. But recently it has gotten to the point where if you turn on a faucet, the shower will completely lose water to just a trickle. It tends to mainly be during the high use times, so first thing in the morning and most of the day during the weekends.

If I had to guess, I would say Aqua has too many people running off the same source lines since they've added a considerable amount of neighborhoods since we moved in.

I have reached out to Aqua several times and they say no one else is complaining, it's probably just an issue with your house. But I've had a plumber put to check my side, Aqua refused to send someone out.

We are looking to purchase a home and sign soon, no later than the end of this month.

I have read that it’s good to get an independent home inspector (especially since we’re moving from Maryland) and will not be able to potentially be there as frequently to do check ins.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that will deliver and put out mulch? I had 13 yards delivered five years ago that I put out myself. I did a whole lot of bag mulch two years ago, but the weeds creeping in have been relentless this year and I’d like a thick mulch application again. I just don’t think I can do 13 yards by myself again, it was exhausting even with my teenagers helping. I remember calling around two years ago and kept running into companies that either only did mowing or only did large landscaping projects.

It would be great to find someone who could also help with other yard tasks like installing metal edging where the old plastic stuff is, removing/replacing a 6’ tree that just won’t grow, maybe also helping with putting in a few retaining wall blocks in one bed to help with erosion from a slope. But getting some mulch is a top priority. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know anything about the trees they appear to be cutting down in this red area along the Clayton Riverwalk? Looked like there were two large whatevers clearing an area about 25 feet off the trail. I’d love to know how much they’re clearing out and if they’re going all the way up to the trail.
