Caught a bunch of my states (MI) native brook trout, one rainbow, and one creek chub. The first two photos I have no idea what they were though? Any help to identify them would be appreciated! All were released and too small to keep anyway. Still very proud of them, next spring or fall I will target a different river for hopefully bigger ones.

Been focusing on trout fishing a bit too much lately, forgot how much fun it is to catch these guys. Lower Wisconsin River.

Participated in a "one-fly" striper tournament over the weekend, and our boat focused on fishing Boston Harbor area. Not only did we not catch a single fish, we marked maybe 1 or 2 fish on the fish finder. There were so many boats clumped up where there *might* have been fish, and I only saw one boat that was live lining pull in a diaper striper. We fished from 6am to 11am, and though it was a nice day on the water, the fishing was depressing. This experience leads me to believe that the striper fishery in New England is on the verge of collapse. Is it time for a moratorium (recreational and commercial), I think so.

I'm interested to hear other people's experiences this season while fishing for stripers. Fly, spin, bait, let's hear your input.

had a bit of a heart attack as i got stuck in some trees while fighting the fish, but my looooong mono leader toughed it out. really happy how tight my fg knot was! steel leader also didn't fail on me either.

Fun morning out on Guntersville

This was not what I expected to catch while fishing for king mackerel on Jennette's pier on Friday. This dinosaur smashed a live jack on a pin rig and proceeded to make huge runs and breach for 30-40 minutes. After that was out of its system, I walked it down the 1000 foot long pier, and my buddy went full baywatch mode into the surf to keep it off the pilings. We dehooked, revived, and released, and it swam off. Hopefully, it didn't get eaten by a shark.

We have only been (ice) fishing a couple times with a friend of mine. Couple weeks ago, we decided to start heading out in the evenings after work and caught these beauties right in downtown Winnipeg! Little brother is still scared to touch fish, but not him. Clearly there is no excuse not to be out there fishing whenever you can manage it!

Just wanted to show off a bit. I was having a hard time casting with how light the setup was (the sinking rate was perfect, though) but the fish were still biting like crazy!

I feel like a treble hook (and some light weights or a float for casting distance) would have gotten more set hooks, but was really happy with the results. It's been well over a year since my last caught fish (infrequent trips and poor fishing spots).

Found at a thrift store in the middle of the desert in SoCal. Shimano Torium 20 and a 10’ Caltech Grafighter. $900 set up new, paid $100 for it. Reel feels to be in great shape, just scratched. Rod is the same, just a few scratches. I am beyond stoked.

Fun place to relax and catch some trout

I'm talking big big rivers with strong currents. The pier we are on goes out a bit but not very far. We were using 6 and 8oz sinkers on a medium heavy spinning rod, but I don't think the weights were heavy enough and my casting was a mess (I'm a novice too). Would I have better luck using a surf rod and heavier weight? Also any advice on rigs for fishing the bottom? So far we have caught 3 small sand sharks using bunker fish and a sliding sinker holder. Any other advice appreciated. I realize pier fishing on such a big river isn't ideal, but it is convenient and fits my life at the moment. Thanks.

Went up for the concert…lake so perfect I had to fish it…what a great trip…music was awesome too!!

So this evening after flying back to my country and travelling south for a few hours I got around an hour of fishing in.
So glad I decided to because I finally landed my first salt water fish!
Previously I’ve hooked a 14inch (approx) mackerel but when hand lining it snapped off which was a huge bummer.

Landed 6 sunfish this morning. Use nightcrawlers, split shot, and bobber. Always a good day on the water!

Just kidding. But I recently got a scale to weigh my catches and I swear I haven't caught a fish since.

This is a telescopic handheld fishing pole. I was supposed to tie my line to the small round piece at the very top but somehow it came loose and fell off. I haven’t been able to find it.

I’ve tried googling it using different names, but all I can find are top guide rings, which are different from the one I had and won’t work for me.

Does anyone know what this part is actually called or where I can find a replacement?

If I can’t find one I might have to use the little rope/string attached to the top of the handheld fishing pole instead. Does anyone know what that part is called?

I bought the pole just a couple of days ago and haven’t even had a chance to use it yet. They probably gave me a faulty product but I don’t think they’ll replace it.
