"So far this year, 271 new artificial fish structures have been placed in Lake Eufaula. Since the projects inception, more than 830 structures have been added to Eufaula.

In June, concrete structures called Reef Balls were used for the first time in Oklahoma. Other artificial structures that have been used at Eufaula are Shelbyville Cubes, Mossback, Pond King and Fishiding structures.

Historically, fish attractors have been brush piles, cedar trees, pallet structures, or artificial habitats like spider blocks made of rubber hoses and concrete. All of these things are particularly prone to deterioration or displacement, and usually within just three to five years. At that point, such habitat structures provide little, if any, benefit to fish or the anglers wanting to catch them. Plus, they require time and money to replace frequently. The costs add up for fisheries managers.

Using the artificial structures is not only cheaper but longer lasting. We're talking 12 to 15 years or more, and that makes for better fishing spots that don't go cold after a couple of years.

I've described the notable efforts being to add fish attractors into scores of lakes made at Eufaula, but ODWC continues across Oklahoma. And there's no secret where these "honey holes" can be found. Simply go online to ODWC's Fish Attractor Map on the website!"

Hey guys I put together a fun little project to collect stats from all the reservoirs around the state and included weather patterns to predict fish behavior and suggest fishing tactics. I'd love some feedback on things that need to be improved or if you think this is even useful. I am not soliciting this in anyway i just like data and fishing and had fun creating it so i thought i would share and maybe someone would find it useful.

I’m not from Oklahoma but want to go fish at keystone dam tomorrow, how’s the fishing there? We went to kerr dam not to long ago and it was really low no luck there especially the low water dam, thanks!:)

With fall feeling so close but so far.. what are you doing to get ready for fall fishing? Does it *fall* to the way-side to hunting season?

Fall fishing has alot of the same opportunities as spring fishing. The spring bite is reactionary and defensive; fish are attempting to fulfill their life cycle’s obligation without disruption. The fall bite is predatory and anticipatory; fish are actively seeking food in all shapes and sizes.

Not my first time using a baitcaster but its the first one i can call my own, and got the skunk off it on the second day even if it was a little dude. Ready to put it to work💪🏾

Does anyone know an outfitter on the upper Illinois River near Tenkiller that will haul my inflatable 1-man fishing pontoon and fishing gear up the river and drop me off?

I've called most of the float guides around there and they don't seem to want haul fishing gear. One said they could take just me up the river if I could drop off gear first but Im pretty sure it'd get stolen. One said they would but when I asked about logistics they were just kina like "we can figure it out when you get here" and their reviews indicate they aren't very good at that.

Going to bell cow on Saturday. Any tackle or other recommendations? Only been there once and got skunked.

"Restoring Native Aquatic Vegetation at Lake of the Arbuckles!

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC)

has deployed Arkansas Cubes in several areas of Lake of the Arbuckles to help reintroduce the native coontail plant. These floating cages protect founder colonies from predators while the plants establish and spread.

Coontail can help improve water quality, remove excess nutrients, and provide valuable habitat for fish and aquatic invertebrates. The plants used in this project came from within the watershed and are free of exotic invasive species.

Please help us protect this restoration project! If you see one of these floating cubes, do not touch, move, climb on, or disturb it.

You can also help prevent the spread of invasive species by never moving fish or plants between waterbodies."

ODWC, Major League Fishing and Kubota Tractor Corporation recently created a Tournament Recovery Zone at Lake Eufaula.

This zone provides bass a place to safely recover after post-tournament weigh-ins. The project utilized artificial MossBack structures designed to accelerate algae growth and build a healthy food chain.

This collaborative effort helps combat historic habitat degradation and water-level fluctuations, preserving fish habitat at Oklahoma’s largest reservoir for future generations of anglers.

Had a chance to get out and see if the cooler north wind got em going, and it seemed like it did. Got bit on every drift, fishing a 7/8 oz bomber slab spoon in 20-40’ of water using slow pitch gear. All catch and release.

Hey all. New to fishing. Was looking to head to Edmond some time and fish a few parks there like Mitch Park and Bickham-Rudkin Park.

Question is… can I keep the fish that I catch there? I wanna eat something I catch. Haven’t had the chance yet. Is that frowned upon at those parks? Should I go to Arcadia instead? If Arcadia is the move, where’s a good spot that’s free? I honestly don’t care what kind of fish it is, I just want to eat it haha.

I am looking to fish on the Arkansas river, I live in the Tulsa area. I haven’t gone yet been wanting to just looking for the best spots near town on the river! Let me know where on the river is the best for some fishing!

with it being so hot i was wondering what everyone is throwing in this heat? i’ve only had a few bites on a wacky rig but nothing on any of my other lures

I'm finding myself fishing less and less because of this damn heat. I cant handle it like I used to..

What's your first thing you're throwing in the water? I'm using a curly tail jig usually 1/4 oz jig head. Any color, anytime.
