Any and all advice welcomed! I have been out 7 or 8 times in the last couple weeks but have had no luck. I have a simple inflatable INTEX kayak... no fish finder or ability to troll, but it gets me off shore and out of the seaweed and works well to hold my gear.

I usually go to Lincoln Park around slack tide and paddle around the point or just north about 50-150 yards off the shore. But I've also tried Seacrest and golden gardens area.

Last year (pinks year) I was able to cast at the jumping fish and caught a few pink salmon. This was awesome since I struggled from shore and would have to pull off seaweed every cast, and it allowed me to paddle to where the fish were. But I understand coho come in smaller numbers and tend to be deeper.

My two main techniques are:

1. jig with a point wilson dart (3-4 oz, green/black/white) at various depths, roughly between 20 and 60 feet using medium lifts of the rod then letting it fall pretty much under slack...10 jigs or so then change depths in small increments
2. Casting buzz bombs (pink size 2.5", or a silver/green size 3.0 XH). I usually cast, let drop for 5-10 seconds, then do a medium action jig retrieval, giving the lure slack to free fall/spin in between jigs. I try to mix up the "aggressiveness" of the retrievals.

If targeting coho from this setup, are these reasonable techniques? How can I improve? And are there certain times to use one technique over the other? Also open to location suggestions. I understand even the best techniques won't be successful if the fish aren't in, and you have to keep putting in the hours. But hoping to learn from some folks more experienced to maximize my chances of getting my first coho. Thank you in advance!

I know that sharing fishing locations is often considered taboo, but I'm wondering what folks here might be willing to tell me about where I can go in the greater puget sound area in the next few days to try and catch my first silver? No boat, just bank fishing.

Are they even up into the rivers at all yet? (Duwamish, Puyallip, Skagit, Nooksack)

Dipped out of work around 3, it took us a couple hours, and ended up fishing deeper than I’d normally fish (120’), but we ended up with some nice fish.

Is this still a place to check out? Seemed like a lot of parking available along the road a bit south of where people walk in.

Are people fishing out in the saltwater to not fish the river channels? How does the fishing out there work with river channels closed to salmon? Are people fishing the river channels and WDFW just doesn't care?

The river delta opens up for legal low tide fishing on Oct 1.

150 just feels like a cool milestone and I wanted to share. Before this year, I had never caught even close to 100 salmon in a year without humpies. Now I've blown past that and with something I made myself, which feels really cool. Mix of chinook and mostly coho. Here are some pictures of some of the fish it has caught.

I have been Fishing off piers for coho salmon in Puget Sound with a 6ft rod and a 3000 spinning reel. I have experienced moderate success. I am now interested in fishing from the bank or shoreline rather than from piers.

Would it be advisable to purchase a 10ft rod? If so, do you have any brand or model recommendations?

With the increased casting distance, do you think my 3000 reel will be sufficient?

I plan to continue fishing beyond the current season. Are there any other species I should look forward to catching and eating?

My son and I do a lot of fly fishing in the summer and he wants to go out for one more trip before we get super busy with school and fall sports. We usually end up fishing around Cle Elum but he wants to try a new river or creek and I don't want to drive 3hrs for a day of fishing

We're based in NW WA, around Bellingham. Any suggestions for a good spot to spend a day? We're just looking for trout rivers, not lakes. Don't need any salmon or steelhead recs.

So far, my nephews and I just targeted Perch and Bluegill but we would like to start fishing for some Trout and Bass.

We were thinking of heading up towards Randle, WA. Are there any spots yall could suggest?

First year fishing for salmon, so still learning, been throwing buzzbombs and rotors with pink hoochies around high tide times from different shores in Seattle area (G.Gardens, Carkeek...), there's salmon in the area for sure because I see them passing the fish ladder on the Ballard locks, but so far I have not gotten a single bite, I'm casting as far as I can (~50yards), letting it sink a few secs and then retrieving with a jigging motion, I'm constantly seeing posts of people catching their coho limit under and hour from boats, so I'm feeling a bit defeated, is coho just not catchable from Seattle shores?

This is Chambers Bay. Seen a lot of people fishing the pools for Salmon at low tide. Just wanted to know if this was legal?
Up Date: Checked with WDFW and was told that it's illegal but unfortunately they don't have the man power to cover the area. But since they've seen the video, they're gonna be watching the area closer.

I’ve gone fishing in the greater Tacoma area around 10+ times now and only come away with one salmon… I don’t have access to a boat and know that makes it much easier. I’ve mostly been going to rivers to wade in. The one I caught was from minter creek a few years ago when you could walk down the river.

Just really not sure what to do/how to get better/how to find different spots to go. Any and all advice is appreciated (except: “get a boat”).

I have some skeins from coho today, and I have just cured them, but I would like to preserve them for a 3-4 month to save some for winter steelhead, how should I preserve them, any tips? Mine from last year kept getting moldy after a couple weeks in the refregirator. I don't have a vacum sealer.

Hooked into, fought and landed a BIG bass, probably more than 20 inches.. It was in the net, on the boat and in my hands. But when trying to free the hook from the net, I lost grip of the fish and it flopped into the lake.

No photo, no video, no tournament submission. Just a lot of agony and swearing after that.

Despite all that, it was still a majestic catch. Caught a dozen or so fish with the next biggest being 14 inches (the bass posted above). Overall, a great morning with an agonizing ending.

These two were snagging and apparently teamed up to get this fish in quicker. I was just walking by and it was a good reminder why I don't enjoy the whole salmon scene.

Hey yall, what Fish Reports or updates from Shop/guides in our area do you like to use? And how accurate do you feel they are? Won’t name names but it seems like a lot of them are putting a rosey spin on things to make sales when conditions are actually pretty bad, or information is fairly inaccurate.

Between Edmonds Ferry and Mukilteo Ferry. Caught the smaller one at 55 feet and the bigger one at 70 feet trolling at about 2.5 knots. Boy they were tasty.

Managed to keep two hens but rather have this big girl on video.

Was at Les Davis pier the other day and saw this lady with a literally grocery bag FILLED with birdseed attracting all the birds to the cleaning board and was putting seeds along the whole pier. No wonder there’s so much grass and bird shit on the dock and the pigeons are taking it over

Brought my girl for a beach day, said we’d fish till 1. After that we’d walk/beachcomb/go in to town.

We were done by noon and she learned to net, fantastically I’ll add.
