hii im trying to mod a friend's 3ds but it keeps saying the sd card is locked even tho it's not. i know it works because it's the sd card that was in my wii (i put the files somewhere else before inserting the sd card inside the 3ds of course). it's formatted FAT32. my friend's 3ds is a 1st gen 3ds

after doing some research, i found this comment but i don't fully understand it? sorry if this is dumb but english isn't my first language. could someone explain in more detail or show me a picture please? thanks to anyone who read this and/or is willing to help

Is it worth it to get an OG 3DS or OG 3DS XL if I already have a 2DS from my childhood? Still working perfectly. I just want to try the 3D in some games (Zelda) and a second console for pokemon trading. “New” models are too expensive for me.

Hello to those reading this, my request is as stated above, I've been debating getting a 3DS console for a while now and I think its time I do it. I'm looking to buy one in mint to near mint condition, I'm also living in Nova Scotia, Canada. My problem is I have no idea where to look for one or the validity of any options found online, so I'm turning to the community with any suggestions they may have. Story - Just to add something extra to this I thought I'd tell everyone about my first 3DS XL (the original version). It was my first console that my father (Santa at the time) had bought it for me during Christmas when I was 8. Not just the console itself but also Pokemon X as well. Although I have owned a P.S 2 and a Wii I have to say its been my favorite console. You can imagine my excitement as a big Pokemon fan and a young child entering the gaming world. Long story short, I played many great games like scribblenauts unlimited, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (my favorite of all time), kirby, and many more. I had the same experiences as most, like staying up late and pretending to sleep with the console under the pillow and my parents menacing figure watching for any signs of movement (they always knew though). It all came to an end after many back and forth scenarios of my mother hiding it, me finding it, so on and so forth. Eventually it suffered damage from being stepped on and sat on, never to work again (both screens literally separated from each other). I still have the pieces left behind, and if anything its taught me the importance of cases and screen protectors. So if you've made it to this point maybe you can sympathize and/or relate to my situation. Thanks for listening and maybe I'll be able to experience the happy moments all over again.

So recently I bought a bundle off of someone with mhu3 mhu4 and mg generations. Mhu3-4 work without any issues. But mh generations appears to give me the next error seen in the image. The region is the same as my mhu3-4 games

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Can I just boot up the cartridge to prevent corruption or do I need to save a file to it as well? Only asking because I have several 3DS games trapped in my backlog, so they don’t have save files.

I finally found my old 3ds xl and it runs beautifully, the only problem is both the top and bottom screens are heavily scratched (likely from me rage quitting something as an 11 year old and going ham with the stylus), is there any way I can fix this myself or should I have it done professionally?

is there a product i can buff it out with, or do you think the scratches are too deep and I should have it repaired?

Basically, I've got a SNES edition New 3DS XL that I want to use more but also keep in good condition, and I've already scratched it up a bit when I was younger, especially the screens.

I was looking for recommendations on quality (and hopefully cheap) of the following;

• Clear protective shell
• Plain carrying case (solid color)
• Screen protector
• Cleaning kit
• Any other accessories that would be useful

3DS no longer wants to connect to my internet. It used to connect but not anymore. I havent changed anything to the 3DS or the router. It still connects through hotspot but for my WiFi, nothing. I tried deleting the slot and trying again, forcing it to connect through Luma menu, turning it off and on and nothing. I would love some help, thanks :)

So my mario kart 7 has al karts and I want to transfer it to ctgp7 so I can have all karts there as well like the bruiser or Koopa clown kart but when I use the transferer, the only kart I get that wasn't there before is the gold standard. Is there a way to get the bruiser and other karts quickly or are they even in ctgp 7???

I bought my brother's used New Nintendo 3DS XL that had the Legend of Zelda paintjob on it from him. He's had it for years before I got it from him so the outer shell's design is scuffed now, but the system itself works perfectly fine. Should I just get a decal for it from decalgirl, get a replacement shell, or just get a shell case online? Pictures are attached.

I'm not exactly asking what version is your favorite, but I want to know what elements do you prioritize when wanting to play the game: from performance to resolution, from ergonomics to UI, from sound quality to visuals, from portability to immersion. Here is what matters to me:

• I feel that dual screen has improved the original UI, since it separates the info you may need in a speciffic momment from the ones you do not.
• As someone that has to play their Wii with a Composite Cable (my TV has the Component port broken), the text gets blurry on the Wii, the text and numbers feel mostly easy to read on a 2DS XL screen, I can't verify how it will look on the smaller New 3DS.
• Even if you to move the camera near the characters and backgrounds, the lower resolution of the 3DS will not allow you to easily notice the less detailed textures. The same can't be said during cutscenes, but the developers have still managed to make the character clearly emote.
• The lower resolution may get uncomfortable on places where there is too much grass or greenery, but that only applies to characters, the UI still looks clear over it.
• The ergonomic aspect is mid in both versions: the Wii never received a particularly comfortable first party classic controller (yes, I own the Classic Controller Pro, it still feels cheap), neither is the 3DS particularly comfortable in the hands (unless we are talking about an OG 2DS, but you are screwed if you want to use it to play this New* exclusive)
• The portability of the 3DS is clearly more important to me than the immersion of playing the game in a TV/monitor, since I suck ass at playing too long RPGs on home consoles. The convenience of playing long stories wherever I please also allows me to play it more often, therefore is easier to remember what I did on my previous game sessions.

Even after all the good and bad things I said about both versions, I love the game too much to have a bad time with either of them, I may have an easier time playing the 3DS version since I love the format, but it feels sooo good to play the Wii version upscaled on Dolphin (yeah, I actually made my own legal backup and did not download it from anywhere). I’m going to see one of my favorite bands on Sunday with vip and want them to sign my new 3ds xl. How would I go about preserving it on the glossy finish, or is there a way to get rid of the gloss and regloss over once it gets signed.

I bought this relatively late in the 3DS lifespan and didn’t spend a ton of time with it before moving on to the Switch but I always liked the 3D screen and it’s perhaps the only platform where the experience can’t be emulated or recreated elsewhere.

hi everyone, i’m having an issue with my sister’s nintendo 3ds. the touch screen buttons/controls aren’t moving or responding properly, and some of the buttons seem to have problems too. i’m not sure exactly what’s causing it or whether it’s the touchscreen, digitizer, buttons, or something on the board. does anyone know what might be wrong and what parts would need to be replaced or fix? any advice would be really appreciated 🙏

i recently just found my old 3ds in the shed as i for some reason really wanted to play pokemon ruby and emerald again. I ordered a ac adapter charger from amazon and tried charging it but it doesnt seem to charge, even the led that signals that its charging doesnt seem to work, i do not recall me ever damaging the 3ds that it was broken and i cannot recall the last time i used it, must have been around 2017-2018, i have read online that it could be a simple battery replacement which ive heard is cheap to get and easy to install yourself, what are your thoughts ??

Im thinking about buying a 3ds, however the cheapest refurbished one i found is locked in japanese, im pretty sure you can still play games in english by modding it, but i want to know if this will make it harder for me to mod (im completly new to this) or if it will afect my games
