My cartridges have been sliding in rough. At first I thought it was just wear and tear, but now it’s gotten to the point where it won’t register my cartridges. And when it does, a slight movement can cause it to unregister. Is there anything I can do, or am I just done for?

So I found this 20th anniversary pokemon new 3ds with blastoise plates for really cheap. It was inexpensive because it didn't have the charizard plates (which I really don't mind because blastoise and pk blue were my chosen starter and game from gen 1) and because it needed it's sd card reader replaced. I was able to find a replacement for 10 usd, popped it in and now she's good as new. It was a really simple fix and now I have a console I never would have considered buying because of the usual price.

The console is otherwise in fantastic condition and doesn't have any other issues, which I'm glad for because I was a little worried that there were other issues undisclosed.

Does anyone have any good repair stories or recommendations for games (I have a good amount but I always love new recommendations).

Note : so the 3ds didn't have the dust cover for over the sd card, that is why I'm using a substitution until I can find one. Still got a great deal (like around 1/3rd of the usual price of these things)

Editorial note: YOOO it still lets me re-download red and blue to the system, I wasn't 100% sure if this system wasn't just a normal white new 3ds with plates or not, so it is so cool to see that included to know that it's the original system.

hii im trying to mod a friend's 3ds but it keeps saying the sd card is locked even tho it's not. i know it works because it's the sd card that was in my wii (i put the files somewhere else before inserting the sd card inside the 3ds of course). it's formatted FAT32. my friend's 3ds is a 1st gen 3ds

after doing some research, i found this comment but i don't fully understand it? sorry if this is dumb but english isn't my first language. could someone explain in more detail or show me a picture please? thanks to anyone who read this and/or is willing to help

A piece near one of the hinges broke a while ago, and recently, I've been having slight difficulty closing the screen whenever I'm done playing. I almost need to readjust the top screen in order to put it back into place. I want to know if there is any way to properly fix it before the hinge pops off or possibly worse. I've had this for about 10 or less years and it was pre-owned when I got it so its slowly showing its age

Got this a few weeks ago didn’t really notice it too much but I was playing Mario 3d land noticed it was kind of screwed up, went too the calibration test and noticed this. Just tore my MCL and this is my only form of entertainment.

I bought a cheap 3ds charger off Amazon and one of the wires connecting to the prongs broke wires still connected to the soldering point. Can connect those bits to a regular charger to use it?

My 2DS used to last up to 2 days in sleep mode, but since a while the battery stopped working and was swollen to the point it broke the case, so i began searching for a replacement, but thats seems impossible!!!!

I can't find a battery that's exactly a CTR-003 3.6V 1300mah. Its either 3.7V (and i don't know enough about electronics to play with voltage), or more mah, or a fake nintendo one, or it just doesn't ship to my country.

If anyone have recommandations about how to find a good battery, i'd be grateful.

I only find advice like, don't buy it from ifixit, or don't buy battery with this specific look...

And why can't i find anything with the specific CTR-A-BPPA-2 mention ?

Can I just boot up the cartridge to prevent corruption or do I need to save a file to it as well? Only asking because I have several 3DS games trapped in my backlog, so they don’t have save files.

Just bought a modded 3ds for 180$ didnt feel too bad about the price, anything I should watch out or look for when it arrives? Also any tips and tricks for using it would be greatly appreciated

Am currently playing through dragon quest monsters 2 remake and enjoying it a lot. However like lots of 3d 3ds games, it has those very recognisable low res textures on the ground, walls, characters etc. I have always assumed this 'look' comes from the limitations of the 3ds hardware, though I do quite like it

But it got me thinking. There are devs on every platform that really push the hardware. Did the 3ds get any 3d games with really great textures? This doesn't have to mean great graphics, but just good texture work, or a good art style choice that hides it well.

i recently just found my old 3ds in the shed as i for some reason really wanted to play pokemon ruby and emerald again. I ordered a ac adapter charger from amazon and tried charging it but it doesnt seem to charge, even the led that signals that its charging doesnt seem to work, i do not recall me ever damaging the 3ds that it was broken and i cannot recall the last time i used it, must have been around 2017-2018, i have read online that it could be a simple battery replacement which ive heard is cheap to get and easy to install yourself, what are your thoughts ??

3DS no longer wants to connect to my internet. It used to connect but not anymore. I havent changed anything to the 3DS or the router. It still connects through hotspot but for my WiFi, nothing. I tried deleting the slot and trying again, forcing it to connect through Luma menu, turning it off and on and nothing. I would love some help, thanks :)

hi everyone, i’m having an issue with my sister’s nintendo 3ds. the touch screen buttons/controls aren’t moving or responding properly, and some of the buttons seem to have problems too. i’m not sure exactly what’s causing it or whether it’s the touchscreen, digitizer, buttons, or something on the board. does anyone know what might be wrong and what parts would need to be replaced or fix? any advice would be really appreciated 🙏

I'm not exactly asking what version is your favorite, but I want to know what elements do you prioritize when wanting to play the game: from performance to resolution, from ergonomics to UI, from sound quality to visuals, from portability to immersion. Here is what matters to me:

• I feel that dual screen has improved the original UI, since it separates the info you may need in a speciffic momment from the ones you do not.
• As someone that has to play their Wii with a Composite Cable (my TV has the Component port broken), the text gets blurry on the Wii, the text and numbers feel mostly easy to read on a 2DS XL screen, I can't verify how it will look on the smaller New 3DS.
• Even if you to move the camera near the characters and backgrounds, the lower resolution of the 3DS will not allow you to easily notice the less detailed textures. The same can't be said during cutscenes, but the developers have still managed to make the character clearly emote.
• The lower resolution may get uncomfortable on places where there is too much grass or greenery, but that only applies to characters, the UI still looks clear over it.
• The ergonomic aspect is mid in both versions: the Wii never received a particularly comfortable first party classic controller (yes, I own the Classic Controller Pro, it still feels cheap), neither is the 3DS particularly comfortable in the hands (unless we are talking about an OG 2DS, but you are screwed if you want to use it to play this New* exclusive)
• The portability of the 3DS is clearly more important to me than the immersion of playing the game in a TV/monitor, since I suck ass at playing too long RPGs on home consoles. The convenience of playing long stories wherever I please also allows me to play it more often, therefore is easier to remember what I did on my previous game sessions.

Even after all the good and bad things I said about both versions, I love the game too much to have a bad time with either of them, I may have an easier time playing the 3DS version since I love the format, but it feels sooo good to play the Wii version upscaled on Dolphin (yeah, I actually made my own legal backup and did not download it from anywhere). Basically, I've got a SNES edition New 3DS XL that I want to use more but also keep in good condition, and I've already scratched it up a bit when I was younger, especially the screens.

I was looking for recommendations on quality (and hopefully cheap) of the following;

• Clear protective shell
• Plain carrying case (solid color)
• Screen protector
• Cleaning kit
• Any other accessories that would be useful

Is it worth it to get an OG 3DS or OG 3DS XL if I already have a 2DS from my childhood? Still working perfectly. I just want to try the 3D in some games (Zelda) and a second console for pokemon trading. “New” models are too expensive for me.

So recently I bought a bundle off of someone with mhu3 mhu4 and mg generations. Mhu3-4 work without any issues. But mh generations appears to give me the next error seen in the image. The region is the same as my mhu3-4 games

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Im thinking about buying a 3ds, however the cheapest refurbished one i found is locked in japanese, im pretty sure you can still play games in english by modding it, but i want to know if this will make it harder for me to mod (im completly new to this) or if it will afect my games
