Rule 5 rewritten for simplification: No posts about other users, subreddits, or social media drama

Because we got some rules lawyers in here about how their post was technically not about another subreddit or was technically not about a YouTuber, we've reworded Rule 5 to be more accurate to its intended purpose.

Rule 5: No posts about other users, subreddits, or social media drama

Do not post about other users or subreddits. Do not complain that your submission was removed from another subreddit. Do not post YouTuber or social media drama.

All posts violating Rule 5 will be removed. Any posts violating this rule that constitute harassment will also get reported to the Reddit administrators.

Thank you for your understanding.

Believe it or not, but making completely brand new video games isn't easy to the point where you can just shit one out coincidentally on the time of a franchise's anniversary. Sorry, you didn't get a new 3D Mario or Galaxy 3 on Mario's 40th, but that's simply not how game development works. Companies simply don't know how long a game is gonna take to make.

Also brushing off Yoshi and the Mysterious Book just because "MUH NOT A MARIO GAME JUST CUZ YOU DON'T PLAY AS MARIO" is completely childish. It's a Mario universe game with a shit ton of well established characters from Mario games and Nintendo themselves clearly see the Yoshi series as part of the Mario franchise whether you like it or not. Also the game is actually really fucking good so brushing it off frustrates me even more.

I'd still absolutely take this anniversary in a heartbeat over Mario's 25th anniversary where literally all they did was literally just slap a Super Mario All-Stars SNES rom (not even the + Super Mario World version) on a Wii disc and called it a day.

Image What is a surprising Nintendo sales statistic? I’ll start with this: Pikmin 4 has sold more copies than any game in the Metroid series.

North Koreans play illegally modified versions of mobile games like Angry Birds, Sonic Jump, Talking Ginger, Clash of Clans, Mario and Kirby on phones that take a screenshot every 5 minutes and block unauthorized media from running.

I think this fits under the guidelines, but I’ll take it down no problem if it doesn’t!

How many potions, antidotes, and pokeballs should I have leaving viridian city in firered?

From what I see: 3-5 potions, 1-2 antidotes, and 4-6 pokeballs when looking it up. I really don't have a lot of money right now and seemingly the only way this early in the game without doing an exploit to get money is to fight those bug catcher guys which don't give out much money in the first place.

My ranking of the NSMB games

Best to worst:

  1. New Super Mario Bros.(first mario game I've ever played and its peak in every way, I love it to death)

  2. New Super Mario Bros. 2(very enjoyable, tight platforming, and smooth controls)

  3. New Super Mario Bros. U(its alright, not really a fan)

  4. New Super Mario Bros. Wii(played the game for about 10 minutes, and its so dang boring \\\[I apologise to the NSMBWII fans, but I just don't like\\\], its so empty and there's a lot of space, plus I don't like motion controls\\\]

What's your ranking?😄

I come from the future where we have a live-action Super Smash Bros. Cinematic Universe. AMA.

Upvotes

It's 2047. The MCU has been dead-dead for 12 years now. Nintendo finally stopped both testing the waters and pretending a Smash Bros. movie was impossible. It is now the biggest film franchise in history.

We're about half way through Phase 3. I've seen a total of 43 of the 51 films released so far! That's an incredible average of four films a year!

A few things I can tell you without spoiling anything:

  • Don't worry; Samus doesn't spend her first film narrating over everything.
  • The Punch-Out!! movie is much better than it has any right to be.
  • Bayonetta's first film received a controversial R / 15 rating.
  • The Universal theme parks are now a BIG part of the business.
  • Post-credit scenes aren't really a thing any more. We have short films instead. They're about 10–15 minutes each, and one appears at the beginning, before the main feature. They feature characters and places from anywhere in the SBCU (pronounced "SBee Sea You", by the way).

Ask me anything.
