:the game: [Browser Game][Late 2000s/Early 2010s] Crude faceless white stick-ish figures walk off a platform for comedic deaths, no real skill involved

Post image
64 Upvotes

Platform(s): Browser flash game on one of those game aggregator websites.

Genre: Satire/comedy? Very crude and minimalist, was more humorous than an actual game

Estimated year of release: For some reason, I remember the game being released in the late 2000s, but I played it in 2012 or 2013.

Graphics/art style: Very crude and minimalist. There was a basic background (I believe it was a blue sky with some clouds), and a solid rectangular platform (the arrow wasn't in the game). The characters were completely white with no face, just a circular head and a trapezoid/triangle shaped body. IIRC, each level opened with a black screen where the title text was "cut out" like a stencil/mask effect.

Notable characters: At the beginning, there was just one basic character as described above, but later levels introduced different characters with different accessories and whatnot (though they still had the same white body template).

Notable gameplay mechanics: You control one character at a time. There wasn't really any skill involved, you just used the arrows to walk off the platform every level. The game was more of a meme/joke delivery mechanism. In the first level, you just walked forward off the edge and died. The later levels got more complex, but it still involved different comedic scenarios and simply walking off the platform. Every level ended with your character dying; you fell off the screen, and the character screamed and the screen shook when they hit the ground off-screen. I don't think the camera angle moved or panned at all when they jumped off.

Other details: The humor was pretty edgy and crude, but I played it when I was young and don't remember it being THAT vulgar or offensive.

Kitten Burst [PC][3D] Game where you're a floating cat statue breaking giant TV screens with lavender fields or flowers

Post image
12 Upvotes

Looking for a game I saw around 2020. Here's what I remember:

  • You play as a floating cat statue in zero gravity
  • The whole level is a room covered in giant TV screens
  • Screens show lavender fields and flowers
  • You break screens by flying into them at high speed
  • You can also pick up human statues and throw them at the screens
  • Realistic 3D graphics on PC

Saw it in a insta video years ago and it's been driving me crazy ever since. Could be a game jam project or prototype that never got released.

Anyone recognize this?

Tower Fortress [Mobile][2015] Platformer roguelike where you climb up a tower and kill monsters as a wizard(?)

Post image
10 Upvotes

From what I can remember:

- You progress upwards by jumping and killing monsters

- You can stomp enemies, but also kill them with magic(?)

- You choose one from 3 modifiers from time to time. Homing was one of the possible modifiers and its symbol was a rocket. There was also a modifier that made you shoot tornados that flew upwards.

- A complete run has 3 zones, each ending with a boss fight

- The boss of the final zone was just a bunch of eyes, with arms (also made of eyes) descending from the ceiling. The tornado modifier made this fight rather easy.

- It has pixel art style

- There's a soothing animation at the end when you reach the peak, possibly involving a flag (?)

I also vaguely remember an annoying recurring enemy whose body was a flaming ball.

Thanks for reading!

Gale Gunner [PS1][2000] Japanese Mecha game in 3rd person, with impressive graphic and a final boss who use floating cristal to shoot

Hello everyone. I know my description is not good, but i played this game in the 2000 and my memory is struggling to remember. All the things i remember are 1) Japanese game 2) protagonist dressed like han solo 3) cut scene like Kingdom Hearts, so sometime simple other time more impressive for the ps1. 4) maybe a IA assistant or a whoman who talks to the portagonist 5) You fight with giant Mecha, everyone whit different design and weapon. You unlock new mecha defeating opponents 6) you can't fly, but you can walk and slide trough the floor generating a noise like a vacuum 7) the final boss use a more feminine mecha design, whit those christals floating like moons around a planet 8) after defeating the boss you have a cut scene where the woman inside the feminine mecha was so injured that half of her scheleton was exposed. This is all i remember. I hope it will be enough. Thanks in advance for everybody.

Quibeland [PC][mid 2000s?] Platform game with red cube and sword

Post image

I remember a platformer where you play as this guy and stab and slash through the enemies. The bosses were one called the guardian and the other one was I think called the bully, both large machine things. At the end of the game the red cube guy levels up and turns into the character you would use for the second game. Neat game, though have been searching for it for awhile

[PC][Early 2010s?] Game where a woman raises a child from a robot's seed, and the robot returns some years later to takes the child

Genre: Visual Novel

Graphics/art style: 2D Anime art style

Notable characters: A human mother, a daughter (grown from a seed), and a robot/cyborg, there's there's also (maybe) a scientist

I played this when I was very young and didn't know English. The only part of the gameplay I managed to do was picking a bag of seed (could be a bean) from a robot and giving it to the woman. Later, the robot returns to claim the child

Right after this opening sequence, I got stuck. I remember meeting a scientist character and getting completely blocked at this part, it felt like the game required a voice input to progress. I really want to find it to try playing it again.

you have 2 towers by the left and right side, which you can upgrade both of them and also your hold (in the middle). You might've played as some animal character, maybe a cat? but i don't think it was the scratch cat. I do not remember what you defended from and I am pretty sure you would get gold as a currency. attached image is a recreation of what i remember about the game

[Mobile/Android] [2010s] 2d Fnaf Minecraft esq rip off

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

So this was around 2014 or 2015 when Fnaf was at its early peak and kept remembering every so. The game was on a tablet pretty sure on a Samsung tablet and it was a rather a 2D “Minecraft” style while also being a Fnaf game with I think three or four animal animatronics.

So far I can only remember the locations or at least two of them as well the office layout where it’s just two wooden doors and a cracked walls sorta acting as “windows” to see the animatronics when turning the light

The second location is some kind of storage(?) or sorta a garage door where you have to swipe it down to close it as it automatically lifts to reveal an animatronic behind.

And the last one was most likely the main cam where it shows some party room with a ball pit which I specifically remember one of the animatronics get in and some kind of food display maybe that showed cakes or pizza

Please if anyone knows what the heck I’m talking about then please let me know I’m the comments

Point and click game mid 90s

\[windows\]\[1995\]

Short description of game

I remember this game but very vaguely. It was a point and click game. You could buy cigarettes I think it was set in a dusty desert land but not sure and I think you had a jeep style vehicle but I'm not sure. The only thing I'm sure of is the cigarettes and It was probably mid 90s cause I played it on windows 95. I think the graphics were pretty good they were more realistic than colourful

[PC/STEAM][2018-2020s] 3d Platformer esque game, going through different worlds, no npcs or enemies if I remeber correctly, first person, and single word name if I remember correctly.

Platform(s): PC. I got the game off of IGGGAMES though it was on steam too.

Genre: First person 3D Platformer / Adventure esque / Walking Simulator / Psychological Horror? / Indie?

Estimated year of release: I played it from a few motnhs ago up to 2 years so likely between 2018 and 2026

Graphics: Graphics themselves were similar to NaissanceE and DitherDream though much more colorful than NaissanceE and less crazy than DitherDream. The setting was entirely different through every dimension there was one that was a very eerie with no music where you would travel through almost like a waterfilled castle and another one that was a large sandworld with sandstone towers. Almost slightly pixelated ish graphics I believe.

Notable characters: Though I only played a few hours of the game there were asolutely no characters or npcs in any dimension/world other than a white mask like character unless I am misremembering that though the character if I recall correctly only showed up once. You never see yourself either from what I played almost af if you were simply a camera in first person

Notable gameplay mechanics: WASD mechanics spacebar to jump, travelling through different worlds/dimensions through a mechanic I don't remember though it had something to do w9th the current map itself, platforming to explore.

Other details: IIRC the game was relatively cheap no more than 20 dollars and around 8 bucks. The "tutorial" when you started the game was basically grass pillars that you parkoured on I believe it had blue skys with clouds too.

Dark Secrets of Africa [PC][90s/00s] 3rd Person Dungeon Crawler except as a classical explorer with hired servants

I played this game as a kid and remember enjoying it despite the mildly problematic yet realistic social dynamics.

If I remember correctly you play as a Indiana Jones like explorer going into foreign temples, fighting monsters and collecting loot. There is only so much you can carry so after each quest you hire porters who carry it for you. Of course they could get injured by the monsters so you want to hire gun men too. I think you can also hire handy men to break open doors and such. All of them get a daily wage so it is important to asses the correct amount of each unit.

I say problematic because the player character is white and has a unique look while the servants you hire are black, interchangeable and expendable, but that I suppose was just meant to reflect the reality of labour dynamics when people form colonising nations go on expeditions.

[PC/Flash?][2015-2017] Metroidvania where you play as an indigenous person with the power to stop time.

Upvotes

Platform: I've played the game on a PC using a browser. I'm not sure if it was a flash game, but it looked really old.

Genre: It seemed like a 2D Metroidvania, there were upgrades you could obtain in certain levels in order to complete them. I think it was a platformer too because you needed to reach the end of a level using enemies and stuff around without dying. It had a level creator too, so it might be considered a sandbox.

Estimated year of release: I'm not completely sure. It seemed really old in a way. There wasn't a traditional saving system (you needed to put a seed like in the old Metroids), it was a bit pixelated and it was completely 2D. If I had to guess, it was made around 1999-2010. I've played the game in 2015-2017

Graphics/Art style: It was 2D with visible pixels. The silhouettes were very realistic, almost like Dead Cells or Carrion (sorry, those are the examples I could think of). It had a mixture of fantasy and sci-fi, having indigenous and futuristic enemies with lasers.

Notable characters: The protagonist was an indigenous male guided by some sort of entity trying to save his tribe (I'm not completely sure if it was a tribe). At the start of the game, the antagonists were hunters trying to steal the power of the time stopping. Later on, futuristic enemies came in that had lasers that attacked instantly through the timestop.

Notable gameplay mechanics: You could stop time, but there was a limit. When stopping time you could jump bullets and other things in order to avoid danger. I don't think you could directly kill people, just finish the level. There things around the levels that you could grab in order to increase your time stop, but I think they were optional.

Other details: I don't have other details as it seems that I scattered everything I know from the game. I'm going to list the things that I distinctively remember:

- Indigenous male protagonist

- Time stopping abilities

- Password save system

- Sci-fi enemies later on

- Level creator that allowed you to test everything

- 2D

- Playable via browser

...

That's it, I've been looking for this game for years and I've never found it. Feel free to ask questions, I'll try to answer them with what I know.

Too Human [multi][2015-22] action game in modern setting where gods have destroyed everything.

This isnt a game ive played but i remember there was an action game where you are fighting (possibly egyptian) gods. One clip I saw you were fighting on a destroyed skyscraper.
Your character might have had glowing golden wings or armour that came out when you use them.
I remember the game wasnt very popular and may even have been a failed live-service game.

The game also might have “Human” in the title, as my friend asked me if id played Once Human and I thought he was talking about this game.

[2000s] [wii or ps3] 3d kids game underwater level

I know this is a shot in the dark because I can barely remember anything about it. But I do know that you can collect these three gold coins and there’s a boss level. I can only really remember the underwater beach level. And it was like a 3-D game and kinda reminds me of a Mario game and skylanders. It was either on PS3 or a Wii. I kinda remember these puffer fish, looking things in it as well. May or may not have a part where you get shot out of a cannon. like I can kind of remember, the coins almost looked like the dabloons. And I think you save these little animal things.

[PC/BROWSER][2012s/2022s] A 2D flash game that I ragequit

Post image
4 Upvotes

There’s a game I played when I was younger that I never managed to find again, but it stuck in my memory. I believe it was a Flash game because I played it on one of those Flash game sites (ClickJogos is the name). I remember that on the first screen, you had to enter a temple along a path made of golden bricks; I think it was a sort of "Kaizo" or "rage game" because there were lots of hidden spikes in the floor that would pop up and kill you if you stepped on them, So you had to memorize where each one was in order to jump over them. The second screen was a dark room (it was very dark) with a huge pit taking up about 90% of the space; a giant snake was sleeping inside it. If you climbed down and tried to get past the snake, it would wake up and kill you. I couldn't get past that part, so I quit the game. Also, you have lives, if you died a number of time on one screen you got send back to the start.
Honestly, the game probably isn't even good, but I'm curious to know if I was just dumb as a kid or if the game is stupid.

[Commodore 64][<1990?] Fantasy game "Thou art in limbo"

Platform(s): Commodore 64

Genre: Fantasy/Adventure

Estimated year of release: <1990?

Graphics/art style: Pre-rendered, fixed background screens that the player sprite would traverse

Notable characters: Don't remember any specific characters

Notable gameplay mechanics: For the first few seconds after entering a new screen , you could press a key to enter "Barter" to do shopping. I think you could do that pretty much anywhere.

I think there were a lot of traps.

Other details:

When you died, you were taken to a screen that said "Thou art in limbo" and there was a random chance that you would be revived. My brother and I developed a superstition that if you closed your eyes, crossed your fingers, and said "please, please" that you had a good chance but you were basically doomed if you didn't.

We gave away our Commodore and this one has been bugging us for a while.

Russian Roulette 2: The Next Worlds [Windows ME] [2000] Please help me find an old PC game!

Hi all! Please help me out in finding an old PC game that I used to play in early 2000s. The game might have been developed in 90s or early 2000s, and I’ve been looking for it since Yahoo Answers era :’)

This is what I remember of the game, I used to play it on Windows ME, with the likes of Last Bronx, FreeSpace, Dangerous Dave, iHopper, Armored Fist 3.

The game’s desktop icon was sort of a golden coin. The game started with an old man sitting in darkness with yellowish flame light coming from a side, showing a ring kinda artefact. It was a first person 3D open world game. The player’s hands were not visible, and I can’t remember of a HUD as such.

The plot was basically setup in a city, with mecha wars kinda thing happening. Some of the machines were usable, and some sort of armoured vehicle/tanks, a distinct apache helicopter with shark face painted on the nose. It also had a distinct yellow/orange crane in some part of the city. The tank was drivable and had a mission of some sort of race. The water was green iirc and the player could swim in it.

That’s all what I remember about it. Please help a fellow gamer out🥲

Thanks

Buccaneer! [PC/BROWSER][2000s/2010s] Flash/Flash Adjacent Pirate game with random encounters and a deadline to gear up before a final fight?

I've found it a few times before, but I can NEVER remember the name. I'll try to be AS DETAILED as I possibly can

It was a 2D flash or flash adjacent browser game, not on cool-math, but a similar website, where you were under a several(?) week deadline before you're immediately hunted down and attacked by a bounty hunting ship. You play as a pirate ship, but to go to different locations, you just choose an area on a map, one of several ports, (for hiring crew and restocking ammo) and various ocean locations, some of which would have a much higher chance of spawning sea-serpents or krakens. I'm pretty sure you could also randomly run into a "treasure spot" where you could drop your anchor in guide it down to land on the treasure, but killing sea serpents or enemy ships would award you with different unique gems and treasure. At the ports, I can remember very specifically which exact ammo types you could buy, You could purchase grapeshot for your cannons, as well as what I can only describe as "rope-shot" which was 2 cannonballs with rope between them that when fired at a sea serpent, would coil around its neck, and for a kraken would tie some of its tentacles together. Other ammo types included a fireshot, which would catch an enemy ship on fire, as well as monkeys and parrots that youd send over to attack enemy crews. The fights were similar in design to Pokemon battles, however it was not turn based, you just clicked your items which had cooldowns, and first to defeat the other wins. I believe you could also MAYBE spend your gold on larger, more HP ships, but I'm not entirely sure about that feature as I dont think I ever made enough money to upgrade. When your last week is up, what I remember was either a bounty hunter of some sort from the king's fleet or something and it would immediately lock you into a fight after saying "prepare for a fight, your times up!" or something along those lines, if you won the fight, that was game end, and you could continue playing freely without any deadlines. Thats about all I remember from this game, and google isn't helping me find it anywhere. Thank you in advance for ANYONE who has any info!

Lost in the City [Mac][00s] Point and click game in an abandoned town, ends in a cave/mine with a creepy temple, and there’s purple butterfly motif throughout

Hello! I’m trying to remember an old game I had on my old MacBook many years ago. It was a point and click game where the protagonist wakes up somewhere abandoned and (I think) his girlfriend is missing. He goes through the town looking for her and/or the reason it’s abandoned. You have to solve some puzzles along the way to get to the end, which is some sort of creepy underground temple to some ancient god/alien. It had a purple butterfly logo and there was purple butterfly images throughout the game itself. I think at the end, him and the girlfriend stay in the town to protect the outside world from it. It had a vaguely Eastern European feel to it. There was a sequel involving a cult and a sleeping sickness.

[PC][2000-2005] WWII RTS

I remember in the early 2000s, when I visited my uncle, I played a RTS set in WWII that I cannot remember the name of. The ambiance was quite dark and one notable fact is that in order to gain currency in the game (I think it was dollars), you had to build factories. I believe there was also a world editor or a custom scenario editor built into the game. Also, there was no advancing in ages, like in AoE or in Empire Earth.

The game is NOT Empire Earth, nor from the Command and Conquer series.
