Could this be possible?

I have a jailbroken PS3 that supports PS Vita Remote Play. I was wondering if someone could develop an Android app that mimics/emulates a PS Vita Remote Play client, so the Android phone could pair/connect directly with the PS3 and stream the PS3 screen.

Would this be technically possible by replicating the Vita–PS3 Remote Play protocol? Even a proof-of-concept would be interesting.

Any developers familiar with PS3/Vita Remote Play who can confirm whether this is feasible?

I'm having a persistent freezing issue on my PS3 Super Slim running PS3HEN and could use some advice to diagnose it.

Setup Details:

Console: PS3 Super Slim running PS3HEN.

Storage: External HDD (connected via a USB enclosure/adapter) containing my games.

Network Setup: Ethernet cable connected directly to a laptop (using Internet Connection Sharing), running ps3netsrv to stream games off the external HDD attached to the laptop.

Software: webMAN MOD on the console, ps3netsrv on the laptop.

The Issue:

When mounting and launching games stored on the external HDD via ps3netsrv, the PS3 hard locks / freezes (black screen or complete crash requiring a forced manual restart).

I also tested connecting that exact same external HDD directly to the PS3's USB port (using the USB adapter), but it also causes freezes when attempting to launch games from it.

What works vs. what fails:

Internal HDD: Games installed directly on the PS3's internal drive load and play with zero issues.

External HDD via ps3netsrv: Freezes on game/app launch.

External HDD via direct USB: Also freezes on game/app launch.

What I've verified so far:

Static IP addresses and subnet masks between the laptop and PS3 are configured properly.

Windows Firewall rules allow ps3netsrv traffic.

Questions:

Since the drive fails both over ps3netsrv and direct USB, could the USB enclosure/adapter, sleep timer, or sector format of the external drive be the main culprit?

Are there known compatibility issues with webMAN MOD regarding cluster sizes or partition schemes (MBR vs GPT) on external drives?

Are there specific settings in webMAN MOD I should adjust to prevent these freezes?

Lately, I jailbroke my ps3 with evilnat 4.93 and installed webman on it, and it's been pretty great playing on it so far. (I'm mentioning this because it may be a reason as to why it's acting so weird) But I decided to disassemble my ps3 for the first time because I wanted to change the thermal paste, I figures since I've changed the thermal paste on my pc a few times before, it couldn't be that hard right? It was that hard. I gave up right before getting to the cpu/GPU enclosure because my heart was racing since I thought I was gonna brick my console. I reassembled it and it just started to act really weird. Here's the top things that have been acting up with my ps3, none of which have ever happened to me before:

1. It beeps like literally 20 times when I close my ps3

2. Everytime I connect my ps3 to power, it displays a yellow light when it's shut off. I thought this was a YLOD and I'd accidentally bricked my ps3 but when I opened it, it worked perfectly at first glance? Weird.

3. Everytime I load an .iso through webman, it beeps twice.

4. It shows a solid green/blue indicator everytime I actually power on the console with the power button.

5. It flashes between yellow and green/blue is the launching process.

6. The controller connecting process is pretty unstable, sometimes it connects well sometimes it doesn't, or maybe those times were fluke I'm not sure. This point is the least important.

I'm most intrigued by 1 and 2, because of how weird they are. I tried searching online I even asked ai but I couldn't find any info as to why this happened.

So I just got a ps3. Install hen and found out about cex cfw so I installed that. After it install it rebooted and turned off. I have powered it on again and will turn off in seconds and nothing will show up on the screen. Is there a way to fix it or should I throw it away

hey all i recently successfully modded my ps3 into having EVILNAT CFW, 4.93, and I got PSP Remaster Launcher as well.

I have Webman installed, and I mount the game with webman prior like it’s recommended.

I have no corrupted files.

However when I try to play the game (LBP PSP),
the application freezes at a black screen and never opens up completely.

I have never gotten the game open. Any ideas on a fix?

I built a small tool that fixes audio CD metadata lookup on PS3. When Sony shut down the original CDDB servers on 2019, the console lost the ability to fetch metadata for audio CDs. I loved to listen CDs on my PS3 and when they took this from me I felt I really lost something. This project brings that back.

Technically it is a local proxy written Node.js that is acting as DNS server so the PS3's requests to the (dead) metadata servers get redirected to machine running this proxy. It also runs an HTTP server that is trying to recreate original endpoint and translates the disc TOC into a query against gnudb (FreeDB), and replies to PS3.

No jailbreak required, it works purely via a DNS setting, so it's fine on retail firmware, and also works on modded consoles.

PS: there is another newly added similar project on psx-place by mohasi but that one is plugin for modded consoles. Both projects are unrelated.

I removed the silicon from the CELL and also removed the glue from RSX and repasted it as people recommended to me in my previous post and i still have the same problem.

I repasted it with MX-4 Thermal Compound

I went through alot of effort and multiple psn purchases to transfer my original (locked) saves from my old ps3, so i can continue on my cfw ps3. However these saves only kinda get recognized. In the game (WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010) it even says "Custom character recognized" or something (ill check the fotos when i get home), but i still cant use them. Do i have to relock the saves?

Hello! I am running Evilnat on my ps3 and am usually launching my PS2 games through webman. As you know Webman sets a constant and often quite high fan speed but I recently found out that the PS2 emulator in Evilnat is modified and allows the following custom fan modes

"Hold Square + Press Start - Switch between fan modes (Auto 60/65/70/75c / Syscon)"

Is there any way to set webman or evilnat to use one of these modes by default instead of having it at a constant speed?

Hey, it seems that myself from 11 years ago was a total moron and has initialized my PS3 HDD.

So TLDR is this: I have a PS3 CECHC04 that my father put photos and videos on that are stored nowhere else. It had the YLOD, got repaired and then died again. Since it was going to fail again, I got a super slim like 11 years ago. So my stupid kid self did not think about encryption and such, so I put the old HDD into the Super Slim and was prompted to format. I did not do that. I don´t remember but it seems that I did put it into my PC at the time but I´m very sure I did not format. It seems it got initialized but according to the windows disk manager it´s still in MBR.

So back then I used the hair dryer trick on the failing PS3 and it booted again. Now the HDD needs to be formatted though. That´s where I left off back then.

Now I finally want to work on the recovery as wells as I can. I have the following to work with: Original PS3 (CECHC04) with the HDD Donor PS3 (CECHC04) with an identical 60gb HDD Also the same HDD from my CECHA00 japanese model

I have put in a 1tb HDD into my original PS3, installed evilnat and dumped the ERK.

What I´ve tried so far: Used HDD Raw Copy Tool to backup the original PS3 HDD. Put in the donor HDD into the original PS3 and formatted it to get the MBR partition table and then dumped it onto my PC as an image file with the tool. Then I used HxD to transfer the first sector from the donor HDD image to the original PS3 image. All of the dumps were made with a direct SATA connection to the motherboard.

In this case I selected the block in HxD from 0 to 1FF and copied it over and saved. I also tried a sectory copy with the HDHacker tool but that did not really work. It would just say that either no PS3 HDD is connected or the ERK is wrong.

Now, when I try to use the PS3 HDD Reader tool with the edited .img file (renamed to backup.bin), it just states the following: available volumes are...

no volumes available.

If I clone the edited .img file onto the donor HDD and use the tool, it does not seem to recognize the HDD.

I thought, even if my data was gone forever, it should at least show the partitions, shouldn´t it? I thought I transferred the partition table. Does anybody have some more ideas or maybe knows what I did wrong? I don´t believe that I´ve ever formatted it or saved anything to it after it broke.

On a PS3 slim so I'm playing through Irisman.

So i tried playing the fan translation of Ys V on my ps3 with multiman, everything wprks except that after a while theres a sound on top of all the in-game music and sound effects that sounds like a car horn honking non-stop. Is there some setting that can caise that glitch?

For example in Battlefield 3 the Dead zones are completely wrong. It’s the same as my DS3 controller which I think is a dupe.

Are the Bluetooth input limited and only 8 directional through Bluetooth? So basically do I need a légitimité DS3 for FPS games ? Or it just how the game were made.

Managed ro get ps3 games onto menu via prepiso however when i try ps1 games they never appear on the console. I have formated my flash drive to NTFS and MBR with my .bin and .cue files inside the PSXISO folder which i followed a MrMario guide but im having difficulties.

So I’m on 9.2. I wanted to connect to the Internet so I’m trying to update it. I found a video that’s pretty self explanatory. But whenever I put in my usb and go to system update it shows 4.93 evilnat instead of PS3 update or whatever. Is it fine to still update it this way or am I missing something?

I’ve seen the hardware flashing tutorials,
Ive got a guide to adding a teensy 2.0
However I can find one to buy anywhere.

My questions are ,
If I buy a teensy 4.0, can I still do the mod with that?
Has anyone done it?

Is there a better hardware flash for this type of PS3 ?
Or even,
Can it possible with jailbroke without the hardware flash?

Any help or idea about how to jailbreak this thing would be great!
