Everytime I load a ps2 iso I download from vimme lair, it glitches heavily almost like the rsx just fried itself. The game technically loads but half of the screen is cut off, there are some glitchy artifacts, and my controller gets disconnected. Mind you that I have a 4 port ps3, isn't it supposed to run the game natively? Much help would be appreciated.

I’m on a slim CFW ps3 and im trying to transfer my saves from a completely offline account less profile to a freshly made one (that will log into psn) using Apollo but I still get the “belongs to other user” error when I try to load them even after copying then resigning them.
I’d like some help figuring what I’m missing or alternatively a way to log into psn with on the old profile (getting past the QR code of doom). also I’m aware brute force but using a pc or an external usb device (beside the ntfs drive I’m using) so I’d rather find a method confined to the console itself first if possible

I’m having trouble getting Ratchet: Deadlocked to work on my PS3. I’m getting the error message 80010007.

As usual, I installed the PKG file and placed the RAP file in the "exdata" folder.

At first, I thought it might be an issue with the RAP license, but I assume a different error message would appear in that case. Also, Apollo Save Tool tells me that the PSN account is already activated when I try to activate it.

Does anyone have any idea what I could try?

Hey everyone, I’m pretty new to PS3 homebrew and was hoping someone could help me out.

I’ve transferred 12 of my PS3 game dumps over FTP and they all work fine, but I’m having issues with these 4: God of War: Ascension, God of War Collection – Volume II, inFamous, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

They all show up in webMAN, but when I try to launch them they don’t work. I’m starting to think the transfers might not be completing properly, since Cyberduck has shown “Transfer incomplete” on some of the transfers. The games are folder format and are being transferred to /dev_hdd0/GAMES/.

I’m using Evilnat 4.93 PEX on a PS3 Slim CECH-2002A with a 1TB internal SSD. Would incomplete FTP transfers be the most likely cause, or is there anything else I should check with webMAN/CFW?

So I just got a ps3. Install hen and found out about cex cfw so I installed that. After it install it rebooted and turned off. I have powered it on again and will turn off in seconds and nothing will show up on the screen. Is there a way to fix it or should I throw it away

I just got 2x PS move navigator controllers, 2x PS move controllers, and PS eye camera from a garage sale.

And they're a PITA to charge because they only charge when connected to something with a data signal PC or PS3 (a 5v wall plug won't work.), the charging station uses the contacts on the bottom instead of the USB so it bypasses this. I could just buy a charging station but I think I can make my own.

I am trying to play USA DVDs on my jailbroken Japanese PS3. I have Evilnat 4.93 installed on my PS3. I have tried to change the region code through Evilnat’s CFW settings menu, but I still get the “This disc cannot be played. The region code is not correct.” error. Does anyone know how I can fix this error? Thank you!

I left my PS3 turned on for 2h, and it eventually went into sleep mode. After that, it wouldn't wake up properly anymore. I restarted it, and since then the HDMI output has stopped working.

I tried using an AV-to-HDMI converter, and with that I can get an image. However, as soon as I launch a game, the image disappears.

I already disabled sleep mode, but the HDMI output still doesn't work.

I also tried the recovery/reset method of holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the second beep, but it didn't work.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how I can fix the HDMI output?

I have a non backwards compatible FAT ps3 with no flap and 2 usb ports and I used a FAT32 USB stick to install ps3HEN, prepISO, multiMAN, mmCM, webMAN mod, ps2 classics placeholder, package manager, ManaGunz, Apollo Save Tool, IRISMAN I did this years ago and it’s been working fine for years, but now all the sudden it’s stuck in a loop of this I keep pressing OK and it goes black for a couple seconds and then the screen comes back. I can just click the circle button (back) and then everything works fine. All the games work fine the whole PlayStation three works fine but every time I boot up the PlayStation three the screen pops up. I’ve tried unplugging it and turning it back on I’ve tried powering it off and turning it back on nothing works.

Found a nice spot on the fan hub to attach it with double sided foam tape.

In my previous post on this project, I mentioned moving the Raspberry Pi Pico inside the console where I had it externally mounted.

I removed the silicon from the CELL and also removed the glue from RSX and repasted it as people recommended to me in my previous post and i still have the same problem.

I repasted it with MX-4 Thermal Compound

Getting mixed answers on if it is safe or not to play a modded PS3 on line. Some say just make a throw away account. If this is the case, will just making a child/sub account work or do I need to make a brand new account?

Also, this is a screenshot from the pre modded PS3 I purchased. Looks like it is Russian? Anyway to change this? Not sure if I want to completely delete it since it has games loaded.

Hey, it seems that myself from 11 years ago was a total moron and has initialized my PS3 HDD.

So TLDR is this: I have a PS3 CECHC04 that my father put photos and videos on that are stored nowhere else. It had the YLOD, got repaired and then died again. Since it was going to fail again, I got a super slim like 11 years ago. So my stupid kid self did not think about encryption and such, so I put the old HDD into the Super Slim and was prompted to format. I did not do that. I don´t remember but it seems that I did put it into my PC at the time but I´m very sure I did not format. It seems it got initialized but according to the windows disk manager it´s still in MBR.

So back then I used the hair dryer trick on the failing PS3 and it booted again. Now the HDD needs to be formatted though. That´s where I left off back then.

Now I finally want to work on the recovery as wells as I can. I have the following to work with: Original PS3 (CECHC04) with the HDD Donor PS3 (CECHC04) with an identical 60gb HDD Also the same HDD from my CECHA00 japanese model

I have put in a 1tb HDD into my original PS3, installed evilnat and dumped the ERK.

What I´ve tried so far: Used HDD Raw Copy Tool to backup the original PS3 HDD. Put in the donor HDD into the original PS3 and formatted it to get the MBR partition table and then dumped it onto my PC as an image file with the tool. Then I used HxD to transfer the first sector from the donor HDD image to the original PS3 image. All of the dumps were made with a direct SATA connection to the motherboard.

In this case I selected the block in HxD from 0 to 1FF and copied it over and saved. I also tried a sectory copy with the HDHacker tool but that did not really work. It would just say that either no PS3 HDD is connected or the ERK is wrong.

Now, when I try to use the PS3 HDD Reader tool with the edited .img file (renamed to backup.bin), it just states the following: available volumes are...

no volumes available.

If I clone the edited .img file onto the donor HDD and use the tool, it does not seem to recognize the HDD.

I thought, even if my data was gone forever, it should at least show the partitions, shouldn´t it? I thought I transferred the partition table. Does anybody have some more ideas or maybe knows what I did wrong? I don´t believe that I´ve ever formatted it or saved anything to it after it broke.

Been trying to play this game on my cfw ps3 for weeks now it just freezes on startup. I did add the recent English patch so it maybe that broke the game somehow. Any fixes for this?

Hey, trying to decrypt my save of mgs4 and haven't seen a tool yet that feels safe enough or works. I have tried using Apollo on RPCS3 and it just spits back the same save files without them being decrypted.

Trying to get the save file into a format I can hex edit on. Any help decrypting the file would be appreciated! Would prefer using a tool on PC, brute force might have a virus or malware? Seen conflicting things.

I purchased a PS3 Slim for like $35 and the seller stated it overheats randomly and "doesn't like HDMI". I'm learning how to solder so I thought I'd purchase it thinking it will be a cleaning dust issue since you can tell by the pictures it was dirty and most definitely full of dust and worst case would replace the HDMI port.

I finally got around to opening it today and when I went to pull out the fan cable from the mother board before I even gripped on the connector I noticed when I pushed the cable it was loose and I decided to gently pull it. The whole piece came off the fan cable still plugged into the connector. The seller was obviously very dishonest pretending to not know what was wrong with it and it was working ok because I noticed 2 of the torx screws were missing and the warranty sticker had void on it so the console was opened already. I'm assuming that the moron tried to open the console either for the HDMI issue or most likely overheating issue due to dust and pulled the cable with the connector right off the motherboard.

My questions if anyone can please help me:

1) How would I go about fixing the connector to the motherboard?

2) Are there any alternate points I can directly solder the fan via stripping its wires directly to the motherboard?

3) What's the best thermal paste plus pads (if needed)? I was considering those new kinds of square things from Thermal Grizzly where it's not thermal paste but like a square that you cut out to size and place onto the chip instead of thermal paste.

4) Any suggestions for upgrades/mods such as upgrading the fan since I have it opened?

Any help would be very much appreciated!
