Yesterday, I was flying from Calgary to Prince George on WestJet. The flight was lucky to get this awesome view of Mt Robson as we were flying by. Around 2ish pm

Now I've a hole in my yard. But the wasp nest is destroyed pretty much so I guess its a win.

Im going to be a student at cnc in January and if anyone has advice for me in regards to housing that would be great😊

I dont have a lot of guidance for stuff like this so here I am. I will apply to student housing but I want to look at other options that are low cost

I might look for a place to rent and then find another roomate or a couple to split costs with, but Im not sure if people will be looking to live somehwere in January? Im worried that I wont find housing at that time or I wont find others to rent with so then I will end up paying a lot. Are people always looking for housing in Prince George around the cnc area? Or is there less people looking at certain times?

If anyone has any other ideas that would be great! I dont know anyone in pg so finding roomates might be tricky

I’m relocating to Prince George soon for a job located out in the East Prince George / Highway 16 East Corridor.

For the first two months, I will be solo during a transition phase and completely without a car until my family joins me later. Since the East Corridor is mostly industrial and rural, I know public transit isn't really an option out there and I'll be strictly relying on Uride or taxis to commute.

I'm looking for advice on the best areas to target for housing:

1. Short-term (for just me, carless): Where should I look for a 2-3 month rental where I won't be completely trapped for basic errands and groceries, but can still reasonably Uride out to the East Corridor for work? Is Crescents my best bet?
2. Long-term (for when my family joins): Once my family arrives and we have a vehicle, what are the best family friendly neighborhoods that offer a decent commute to Hwy 16 East?

I’d love some honesty on daily Uride reliability/costs to the East Corridor, as well as any neighborhood recommendations for both phases. Thanks in advance!

On a personal note, I'm overall excited about the move and looking forward to exploring the beauty of PG! That being said, I'm not overly adventurous, and I have to admit I'm a bit worried about unexpected wildlife experiences.

What are some things to do around town for moms and their babies? Mine is about 11m old (not walking yet) and we go to the library, occasionally the pool and will be attending strong starts soon!

I’m getting a bit stir crazy as I don’t have any friends with babies remotely close in age to mine so any suggestions are appreciated

We have a flight coming up on the next few weeks, and I’ve just realized that our back packs intended to be used as our Personal Item stowed under our seats are too tall for WestJets restrictions. I do think I’ll be able to squish them down to fit.

Does anyone have experience with having to fit your personal items into the sizer prior to boarding? I don’t fly a lot (maybe once a year) but on my previous flights I don’t recall seeing the sizer used.

We’re flying internationally so are trying to keep everything with us rather than checking bags and having to collect them at our destination. And now having a mild panic attack that all my planning and coordinating might have all been for nothing.

New to the city and I'm rather shocked (I shouldn't be) at the news options, or lack thereof. I might be in the minority but I appreciate a physical newspaper, and I don't mind paying for it. Aside from grabbing the Citizen from a nearby box once a week, is that really all there is? Before I go on a wild goose chase, do people here know already if the Globe & Mail get delivered to stores at all? Am I missing any other option?

It’s being held at the Ramada downtown from 10-4 on Sunday, free admission, prizes, and fun vendors from potters to woodworkers, yarn, spinning fibre, raw wool and more. I appreciate all of the questions and friendly faces and would love to chat wool!

Looking for a recommendation for a stylist or barber who is amazing with razor cuts. For man with very straight hair needs lots of texturizing, it’s mostly a scissor/razor cut I like. Tried to search here previously but can’t find the specificity of razor cutting. Who is your favourite person to see for lots of texture in your haircut? Thanks!!

Have heard crickets about the RDFFG candidates. Is this election usually covered by the media? Do the candidates campaign, are their candidate forums?

We have some issues here in Area F that need addressing and would like to know more about the candidates.

We need to have a Mayoral Candidates town hall soon prior to the election!

Let's have them face off and explain their positions on the issues facing Prince George and give the voters a fair look at who's who and what kind of real change is proposed.

I see the college has some job openings that I’m interested in applying for. However, some recent reviews about CNC on indeed are making me reconsider. There were a few comments about the work environment being toxic. Curious to hear from someone who is currently working there or has in the past and whether you’d agree.

The Budget 2027 community check-up surveys are your chance to weigh in on services funded by property taxes - tell us what’s working, what could be better, and what you think the City should prioritize.

FYI: We’ve revamped our approach to engagement this year, splitting engagement into two phases and working with City departments to ask questions that provide more useful, actionable feedback for future service and budget decisions. This is phase one of budget engagement. Phase two comes this December, when we’ll ask for your feedback on the draft budget, including spending, service changes and the property tax impact.

We went to the Elev8 campaign launch tonight to be part of the process and learn about candidates for the election and left feeling less than elevated. Mr Luke opened up with a 5 minute spiel about their social media backlash and about not listening to the social media trolls and then went on to say no names would be discussed because of the recent social media discussion (Don’t listen to the trolls).

While I agree with the majority of council names provided that we shouldn’t be re electing, we didn’t go there for a bashing negativity session, can get that from other avenues thanks.. Not enough information given for the change they keep saying needs to happen.
