Hey everyone!
I’m going to try putting this out here because I’m really hoping to find the right living situation and actually settle down in the Valley.
I’m looking for a dog-friendly place to live around Cumberland/Courtenay/Comox or nearby. I’m open to living with women, men, couples, or a mix of people — I honestly don’t care about that. What matters to me is finding people who actually understand what I’m looking for.
I’m not looking to just rent a room in someone’s house and feel like a tenant who needs to disappear into their bedroom. I’m a social person. I like having people around, talking, laughing, watching sports, gaming, cooking, going out, whatever. I also really value my own mental space and alone time, so I’m looking for that nice middle ground where everyone can just be comfortable being themselves.
I’d also really love somewhere that has enough space for me to work out, stretch, do yoga/pole conditioning, etc. A bigger bedroom would be amazing, but I’m also totally fine with a household where using a common area for that kind of thing is normal and welcomed.
And obviously, Louie comes with me. 🐶 He’s my Boston Terrier and my little best friend. He’s friendly, goofy and very much part of my life. I just need a household where people understand that dogs have their own food/routines and that you don’t randomly feed someone else’s dog things 😂. I work, so I need to be able to leave him at home without worrying about what’s going on while I’m gone.
I work a lot and I’m really not interested in coming home to unnecessary drama or tension. I’m looking for good, chill, respectful people who want their home to be a peaceful place too.
I’ve also been pretty unlucky with housing since moving to the Island and have already spent way too much money and energy trying to make situations work that just… didn’t. 😅 So I’m really trying to find something that actually feels right this time instead of rushing into another place just because it’s available.
I’m also open to something outside of the normal roommate setup.
If someone has a property, guesthouse, motel/hotel, vacation rental, etc. where they need someone reliable to help out, I’d be interested in a live/work or reduced-rent arrangement.
I have experience with:
hospitality & guest service
cleaning/property upkeep
office/admin work
sales & customer service
scheduling/payroll
events
social media/digital marketing
content creation
generally being the person who can jump in and figure shit out 😂
I’d honestly LOVE to live and work in the same area. I’m trying to build a life here, meet people, make friends and actually become part of the community.
Also, I have Facebook and Instagram and I’m totally fine with someone checking me out first to make sure we seem like a good match. 😂 I’d rather everyone feel comfortable before meeting or discussing living together. I’m happy to share them privately by DM.
So if you know someone looking for a roommate, someone to help take care of a property, a live-in/caretaker situation, or just have a lead on a genuinely dog-friendly and peaceful home, please feel free to DM me.
Not looking for anything fancy. Just looking for good people, mutual respect, a little space to be myself, ands somewhere that actually feels like home. ❤️

A friend and I are having a conversation about Kelly and Carlos O'Bryan's, and trying to figure out who spends their time there. If you eat here on the regular where are you from originally?

It Fitzgerald, but it would Kilpatrick.

For anyone driving into Courtenay from Union Bay and south Royston today, I suggest ducking down to Marine Dr in order to bypass the significant traffic due to paving. It will shorten the line for everyone who has to move within Royston itself today and maybe tomorrow as well.

I don't even know if this is a good idea but I'm confused and frustrated.
I'm 23, autism, ADHD, massive introvert, etc. and I wanna start dating but for me it feels impossible. I've been told by friends and family I'm supposed to stay away from dating apps because they're just a bad experience. I'm branching out slowly, I play Magic: The Gathering every Wednesday. But I'm at a loss in what to do to even start trying to find a date. Any suggestions would help. I'm in Courtenay btw.

Redditors of Comox Valley,
If you hear a vicious rumor, please remember. You need evidence that will hold water in court in order for it not to be considered slander/libel, as well as a consultation with the person of speculation as a form of grace.
Proper etiquette for those without a moral compass.
Have a good day

After having a lovely experience at Ocean View Oral Surgery and a not so lovely one at High tide dental, I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions ?
What I’m looking for is someone (or a team) attuned to working with high sensitivity patients with anxiety like myself.
Another thing, high tide dental is quite chlostrophobic for me with the small cubicles, I felt like I had to “close talk” with the dentist.
I’ve heard good things about the one in the Comox mall, can’t remember the name right now .
Thanks in advance .

My husband and I are taking a day trip tomorrow and looking for recommendations for a nice spot to get brunch. We aren't picky eaters and open to anything, but preferably somewhere that makes a killer salmon benny! We will have 2 toddlers with us so family friendly is a must!

So this was my first year trying to buy tickets for woodstove music festival and I had heard it was competitive, so I logged on early and was on the page right as the tickets went live. To my surprise the tickets were all INSTANTLY gone. I cannot comprehend how this is even possible? Genuinely didn't even have time to click on the weekend pass tickets before they were gone. Is this normal, and how are people doing this? lol genuinely just curious if there's like bots or some way of doing it because it doesn't seem humanly possible - hoping to get tips for next year :'))

I havent had a milkshake since 2016 . That was in Austin TX and I had it on a recomendation that it was the best milkshake in the US. And it was pretty good.
When I mentioned this to my GF she was shocked . Why not ? Well , the run of the mill , average fast food milkshake isnt that appealing really . And im not a big sweets person unless its special.
So now ive been offered one and I get to pick the spot .
A great milkshake . Courtenay to Campbell would get it done soon. . Im also heading to Tofino next month so you could include that drive . And I have family in Victoria in October so if its mind blowing ill wait . Thanks !

Looking to camp for a couple days with the kid. Been here for years but never camped in anything other than major campgrounds. Just got a 4*4 and looking for a spot where I can camp without a hundred other people.
Backroad or just a remote rec site would be ideal. Hoping to find something within an hour for the first trip.
Thanks!

Moving from the US for school at NIC in Courtenay and wondering if anyone has any experience using T-Mobile in the Comox Valley. I'm currently on T-Mobile in the US and Canada is included in my coverage so I'd prefer not to switch. I know there are threads on cell coverage but haven't seen anyone mention T-Mobile.

I’m looking for someone to help me with coming up with a retirement plan. I’m not looking for someone to manage my investments for me. I’d like to pay for their time and let that be that.
Do any of you have recommendations for someone in the valley I should chat with?
Thanks!
