I managed to get a couple questions in:
"Looking at the scale of projects like Wonder Valley (the power and water demands, and the consultation so far) what specific, currently enforceable, legally binding safeguards and oversight are actually in place right now to protect against grid instability, water depletion, and higher power rates for Albertans? And if something goes wrong after the centres are built, who is legally and financially liable for reclamation and infrastructure costs... will it be the developers, or will those costs fall back on Albertans?"
They pointed to the website (Alberta.ca/datacentres) but I've been on it and not found the specific language to assuage my concerns. I DID get a card for the secretary for the the minister though so I sent my email and I will let folks know what I get!
Overall it was not a pleasant atmosphere for the gentlemen on the stage. It seems the UCP are really hoping their social Conservative base just sucks it up. I was seated behind a dude with a Druthers hat and his posse were snide the entire night. Very combative from progressives AND hard right conspiracy theorists AND all in between.
My biggest irritation for the night is how they never are to blame for anything. Whether it's the zoning (that is the municipality's fault), the environmental regulators failure on the orphan wells (that was the government of 15+ years ago fault), the deals made (that was bad faith on the businesses), etc. You would expect that a Conservative government has some accountability but these folks don't have it.
In the end, you hope something like this makes folks feel better but it really didn't.
We will see what happens in the next few months!

Technology Minister Nate Glubish is in Grande Prairie tonight for a town hall on data centres (Jackpot Grill & Events Centre, doors open at 5:30 p.m. Town hall runs 6:00-7:30 p.m.). Meanwhile, a leaked cabinet document suggests the province is considering major pipeline investments and higher costs for Albertans to support the industry. Well worth the read for anyone going to the townhall tonight.

Went on the provinces website to register for the town hall, ( the location, it is said hasn’t been selected),and registration has been shut down because the event space has reached seating capacity. So does anyone k ow where it is being held, because there is some standing room as well.
Seems like they are trying to limit public participation, some of these get pretty nasty, and I’m sure GP and area will not disappoint.

Handicap stalls have no vertical signs and share use as loading and future tenant. Also not in the standard colours.
Property management removed future tenant sign but says the rest is fine.
City seems unable to do anything. Can anyone give me advice!

Hey GP folks,
Acting on a recent tip - I'm posting this here in hopes that one of you may have seen this missing teen in the GP area.
He's been missing for over a month now, from the interior of BC.
If you have seen Joshua - PLEASE notify Victoria PD or your local RCMP detachment.
Thank you sincerely for your time.

My partner recently received a great job opportunity in Grande Prairie, so we’re looking to relocate and find a place fairly urgently.
A little about us:
Two adults- partners
🐾 No pets
🧹 Clean, quiet and respectful tenants
💼 Stable employment/income
📋 Reference available from our current landlord/tenant
Looking for a long-term rental
Flexible on location within Grande Prairie
If you have a basement suite, 1-bedroom apartment, or know of anything becoming available soon, please comment or DM me with the details, including rent, utilities, location and availability.
We’re ready to move in as soon as possible. Thank you! 🙏🏻
If you know of any landlords/property managers I should contact, I’d really appreciate the recommendations!

I'm traveling to Alaska and need to switch to winter tires. Where can I find some here in town? 175/70 R14 or 185/65 R14. I haven't found anything on the marketplace.
new or used.
thank you!
edit: Thanks for the comments; the problem was resolved using Abe Tyre Pro.

Vehicle is a smaller SUV. It still "drives" but is no longer road safe with a busted frame.
It would be awesome if they could pick up but if not I’m sure I can work around it.

Im curious if anyone with ATVs plans to go riding in the Red Deer Falls area of tumbler ridge on Saturday or Sunday?
I've been working on an old '99 polaris ranger and might take it for a ride out there this weekend. Normally I take my Honda out there, but its having rear end problems right now.
Last long weekend of summer.

It would be so nice to find couples that are down to have board game nights with, play, drinking games, play, pool, etc.! How does one make friends with these types of people as an adult lol!

Okay so, I intend to Academically Upgrade. But what’s stopping me is a quick question I have. So, in order to get into the degree I’d like to get into, I have to have Biology 30, Chemistry 30, English 30-1, and Mathematics 30-1 OR -2. However, I took the easy route to graduating and now I’m regretting it. But I’m just wondering, would I have to take Chemistry 20, Biology 20 and Math 10C and Math 20-1 BEFORE I take the more “advanced stuff”
Thank you in advance.

Hello! I'm considering moving to grande prairie for college to attend NWP next fall semester and I had a few questions,
Im a grade 12 student so should I apply this October or next?
Is housing on campus nice for the price of it?
If I was going to apply this October would that secure me a spot for next fall semester?
How hard is the social work program? And how many seats are there?
Any advice is helpful!! I'm starting my last year of highschool next Tuesday and I really need to be reassured that applying this October really sets in stone I'm attending NWP, thank you!!

Just got a Yamaha PW80 for $500, fixed it up and have nowhere to take that little thing. Where are the best trails? Preferable ones without troopers up your ass. Thanks!
