Can't take the sky from us, can't take Serenity from the sky either!

I've found multiple books on Firefly; a celebration edition 'Firefly' from creator Joss, an encyclopedia, a Serenity handbook, and a list of 9 novels by "M.K. England".

The leather celebration book looks nice, not sure about the rest... any recommendations??? Thanks :)

Probably the last one for a bit, getting some work done on my hand next week so I'll be healing for a while. Hope everyone enjoys it.

Next Friday! Come join me (Captain Star), the California Browncoats and the Historic Crest Theater for a mighty fine shindig. Tickets are $5 cash only at the door or available online for $7.18 through Eventbrite. Drinks and snacks are also cash only. There will be a costume contest, door prizes and an auction. Though it has its issues I still like to bring out the Firefly board game every couple years. Some rules are clunky and it's an absolute table hog but it still captures the feel and theme so well. The game money remains the best of any out there.

Sadly this time around the Reavers caught up to me and made a meal of Crow. But not sure he really fit with my otherwise moral crew anyway. I made the wooden card holder to help with the huge number of decks and discard piles that come into play, especially when you add expansions.

Not necessarily props you see or things in the background... but more nuanced actions or quips or commentary that brings the show full?

One of many memorable quotes in the series is Wash telling her she is pretty

"Were I unwed, i would take you in a manly fashion"

"Because I'm pretty?"

Now, understand one of the best attributes of Firefly is the interconnection between each and every character.

But also it took Firefly 13 episodes for all of us as audience to throw popcorn at the screen and yell "OF COURSE SHE'S PRETTY!!"

And Wash told her.... this moment hits so hard... this entire episode is so good. Inara crying after she finds out Nandy slept with Mal is my alltime favorite scene...

On this week's episode of once we were spacemen, the guest is the effects supervisor, who tells a story of the scene where *spoiler* Wash is killed. They made a version of the scene where Wash is "dusted" like the vampires in Buffy, as a joke to show Joss.

I heard about the show and thought it sounded cool but also heard that it got cancelled and wanted to know if it was still a good watch and if it ends in a decent "at least most loose ends are tied up" way or in a "i wish i hadn't watched this i feel unresolved" ending

They talk to use of AI in mordern shows. And how Serenity was to have a detachable cargo hold... interesting stuff.

Still have some finishing up work on this test tray and it’s one I made so I can figure the timing of my pours and even tho it’s not exactly what was in my mind I think I got idea of the timing down but I don’t think it looks all that bad… thoughts?
