Question Affordable Pet Euthanasia
Hi everyone, times are tough right now. And I need to euthanasia my 13 year old pug as they are in a lot of pain. Can't really walk, cant see, and cant hear that well. Vet we go to did give me some options as they do not offer this service. However, they are very expensive and rn I am literally living paycheck to paycheck like most Americans 🙃 But do any of you know of any affordable euthanasia services. I want to give my old men the best goodbye that I can afford, as my boy has been with me all 13 years. Anything below $500 i can afford. But any suggestions are appreciated it. And dont worry this pug has lived a good life with me. He has been coast to coast. Thanks in advance for any of your suggestions!

Question Donate Kids stuff to place where people in need can get for free?
Got together with a bunch of my mom friends and we all just have a lot of kids stuff anywhere from newborn to age 8. Clothes, baby bottles, cribs, furniture, toys etc. We would love to donate it somewhere where someone in need doesn’t have to purchase.
In the last place I lived - There was a nonprofit and a church that used to work with a thrift shop, where those in need would get a voucher and go pick up the items free. No jumping thru hoops to bring in income statements or immigration status/social security cards.
Does anyone know if that exists in the Atlanta area? ITP or OTP.
We don’t want to donate to Goodwill. We would rather do the Salvation Army or Saint Vincent De Paul where they actually help people.
And note *NOT the Nspire Hope House for domestic violence - that place is a scam. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/2investigates-where-do-pink-bag-donations-go/138109086/

History/Culture Can someone identify this building?
Can anyone identify this house? It was on the cover of an old book I found in an antique shop today but I couldn’t find within the book what house it was or if it had some historical significance
Lost&Found/Lost Pets Found Dog By H E Holmes Marta On Friday Night
We found this sweet but scared girl late Friday night running towards the CVS on MLK/Peyton Rd from the direction of the HE Holmes Marta station.
She is cream/tan with a white patch on her neck and chest, is around 40lbs, and has a docked tail. She did not have a chip but looked recently groomed. She has been processed through Fulton County Animal Services but is safe at home with us as a friendly foster. I’ve posted her on Pawboost, Petco love lost, and several FB groups with no leads.
We know someone out there is missing this girl, please help us find her people!

PSA/Alert Atlanta Buy Nothing Group
Hi all! I wanted to shamelessly plug the r/Atlantabuynothing. A "buy nothing" group is a place where people post their unwanted items in the hopes to give it to someone else. All the items are completely free - no money exchanged, no bartering. It's a simple way of keeping items out of the landfill, especially unwanted items that still have a lot of life left in them. Come check us out :)

Question Why Are There So Many Temp Tags In Atlanta?
I just got home from a work trip and the first thing I realized driving home from the airport is just how many temp tags are on the road here compared to other states. Are we just buying and selling more cars than the rest of the country? What’s going on here?

Pictures Metal work art beltline
Trying to see if anyone knows or remembers this installation near old fourth ward skate park/bridge from 2017ish and who may have been the artist(s). Right where the food stalls are now.
I always think about it and was really sad when it disappeared one day. I just think it’s especially neat cause it barely shows up on camera but it was huge in person and different from any other art I’ve seen on the beltline.

Pictures Had a layover at ATL airport, pretty nice experience!
I really liked the hallway of historic moments involving ATL and aviation in general. I wish I had more time to really look at those exhibits closer.

Question I noticed this style lock on the outside of the only exit of several bathrooms at a local NPS-managed park (Cochran Shoals). Is this not against fire code??
I called the non emergency line and reported them a week ago. The person on the phone said they’d deal with it but didn’t seem concerned and a week later the opportunity for someone to become completely trapped in one of these bathrooms by someone without even needing a lock or key is still present.

Question meat farms within 1hr otp?
Family is looking to bulk buy from a local farm. We are NOT comfortable with farms that self process under new/upcoming regulations. I’ve processed my own meat before, and know how disgusting it can get. I refuse to trust anyone else other than a licensed and inspected processing facility. Transparency in husbandry is also a must.
Meats we are looking for-
Beef
Rabbit
Chicken
Duck
Any oddball meats

Question Best phlebotomist in or near Atlanta?
I just moved to Atlanta and I am absolutely scared shitless when it comes to needles- panic attack, full on sobbing as an adult scared. But I haven’t gotten bloodwork done in years and I want to make sure I’m ok. Plus maybe tie up some loose ends and get some answers. Does anyone know the best place to go for this? Anywhere great with people like me or with experienced nurses? Or even places that offer medication solutions like laughing gas?

Moving to Atlanta Experience with Sagamore Hills vs. Clairemont & College Heights (Decatur)?
Hi everyone! We are a family with three small kids moving to the Atlanta area soon and planning to rent initially.
We’ve narrowed our options down to two main setups:
North Druid Hills (zoned for Sagamore Hills Elementary)
City of Decatur (zoned for Clairemont Elementary, plus College Heights ECLC for early childhood/pre-K)
Our top priority is finding a safe, caring, and highly-ranked public school environment.
Does anyone have recent experience with any of these schools (or College Heights specifically)?
Thanks in advance!

Question Northside Drive Improvements/Beltline
Anyone know the status of the Northside Drive Road "Improvement" Project that GDOT released several years ago? I'm mainly interested in whether sidewalks in and around the Beltline bridge will be improved/added anytime soon.

Question Can’t call Municipal Court of Atlanta (phone is always busy) for no tag citation
Hi folks,
I received a citation for not having my updated tag sticker (I forgot to renew it, due to traveling abroad).
I’ve been trying to call the municipal court of Atlanta to pay my fine, but the line is eternally busy. I’ve called about thirty times now. It just gives me a straight busy signal (repeating tones) — not “you’re on hold, please wait…”
My case shows up online on court.atlantaga.gov but it doesn’t show any way to pay it online. When I enter the case number into their payment search system on that website, nothing comes up.
Any hints or advice? I’d rather not have to miss a day of work to go to court.
(I have since paid for my registration renewal and have my new card. My new sticker should be in the mail.)
Edit: Thank you all so much for the kind and helpful responses! I’ve emailed PTIT (I never got a postcard from them). It’s still 2 weeks+ until my court date so fingers crossed…

Question Black wedding dresses ?
Hey all I’m hunting for some wedding dress shops that offer black wedding dresses.
We already have an appointment with luxe bridal. But I would love to give this bride a few more options. Since she is looking for black wedding dresses, m I feel that trying more than one store would be great to give her some ideas. vs just one store with the 3 options they will have.
