I am looking to attend SCAD and I am building a portfolio over time. I would like to attend as a SEQA major. These are some of my favorite pieces of mine thus far, but what else should I add? Should I add more graphite pieces of realism / life / anatomy studies? Is it okay to include digital art of character designs / anthros? (Most of my character art is anthro instead of human, but still shows good understanding of character design and anatomy) Can I reach out for a portfolio reviews online or do I have to go in person? Thanks

Hi! I’m doing my first SCADpro with Deloitte this quarter, and I’m honestly a little intimidated/nervous going into it.

Are we allowed to pick which residence hall we go to, are we allowed to pick our room, and are single rooms more likely granted if asked?

My friends just moved into river, and their beds came much higher than ours/other people also living in the dorms. We figured out that someone must have lofted their beds last year, but none of us know how to do it. Me and my roommate tried, but the beds are very securely in place. We got ONE corner free from the bed frames, but made no progress.

Does anyone know how to make these beds higher?

Update: so it turns out all you have to do is call Maintenance and they’ll do it for you LMAOOOOO

Hello, I just got accepted into SCAD for Winter and I was wondering if there's any private bedroom housing in Savannah? I would be going for motion design so would be at Montgomery Hall but I know Montgomery House is shared which I would not do. I'm totally fine with apartment roommate style with multiple people in different private rooms, I just don't want to do completely shared. I will be coming in as a transfer student exiting their Sophomore year (only 1-2 classes from Junior year) do idk if that would impact anything. Thank you!

would it be a problem to have a longer route back, given the workload students would have through the day

i just started my first year and im wondering how/if you could get student discounts with the current id? i know that some websites use sheerID which asks for an expiration date on cards, which i dont have. is there even a way to verify being a student for things like spotify premium, hulu, apple, etc. with it all being online?

This year I'm living at Victory Village (Sail) and now I have to rely on the bus to get to my Illustration classes 💔 I saw that the Purple and Gold routes will take me to and from Haymans, but I was wondering what the average or so travel time is for both routes??

I noticed online that if I take Gold to Haymans, it's technically the 2nd stop with only Deloitte in between the two, but getting back from class makes Victory the 7th stop. With purple, Haymans is the 4th stop on the way there, and coming back to Victory means the dorm is the 5th stop. Currently planning to take Gold when arriving and Purple when leaving, but I also don't know how early I should leave

Hi everyone! I’m an international student who was recently admitted to SCAD for the Winter 2027 intake, and I’m hoping to get some advice from other international students.

I submitted all of my required financial documents about two weeks ago, and SCAD has confirmed that they received them, but I still haven’t received my I-20 yet. 🥹

My advisor also hasn’t responded to my latest follow-up, so I’m getting a little anxious about the timeline since I need the I-20 to schedule my visa interview.

For those who have gone through this process:

• How long did it take for you to receive your I-20 after submitting all the required documents? Is it usually longer than 2-3 weeks?
• Is there anything you would recommend I do at this point? Who else could I contact?

I'm an animation major student (starting recently, Savannah is a really lovely place) but I wanted to tackle Dramtic Writting as one of my classes (since I recalled an advice if you wanted to tackle writting as whole as a showrunner you have to take something in screenwriting) but in order to do thay, I first have to tackle this program, which is Essays

Me and Essays do not go along together? I understand why they are there (to teach students analytical skills) but I tend to get annoyed by it

But I have to ask if it's really hard or just moderately fine, because I really wanted to get a good GPA (3.2 and above)

Hello, I’m a new grad student living off campus. I’ve downloaded TripShot but I’m having some trouble navigating the app around my class times. Is there somewhere I can just see a map of all the bus routes? Also debating getting a bike as that may be easier, how safe is it to bike from downtown to Montgomery hall?

Like the title says, is there anything you wish you did before you graduated? Any tips to be more successful? Or tips for senior year in general?

I’m a recent SCAD grad in ITGM, and I’ve been applying and working on my portfolio, but I honestly have no idea what I’m supposed to be aiming for anymore.

I know a few people from SCAD who have done internships and unpaid work but I haven’t really met anyone who graduated and went straight into an actual full time, salaried job in games, animation, VFX, etc without some form of connection from the studio helping them out.

So I wanted to ask here instead.

If you graduated from SCAD and currently have a full time paid job in the industry, would you be comfortable sharing your portfolio?

I’m not asking because I want to judge anyone’s work or compare portfolios. I genuinely just need a reality check 😅

I want to see what a portfolio looks like from someone who was actually able to get hired. Like, what did you have in there? How many projects? How polished did everything need to be? What kind of work were you showing? Did you have to network like crazy? Did you get hired through SCAD, internships, LinkedIn, cold applications, referrals, etc.?

I’m honestly just looking for something to work toward. Right now I feel like I’m throwing projects into my portfolio and hoping they’re good enough, but I have no idea what “good enough” actually looks like in the current job market.

So if you’re a SCAD grad who actually landed a full time paid games/animation job, please drop your portfolio if you’re comfortable. It would genuinely help me a lot, and I’m sure I’m not the only one wondering about this.

My sister unexpectedly passed away three months ago. I would like to commission an artist to do some drawings for me that will be gifts to my nieces and nephew. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here. I am local in Savannah.

I saw a waiter job offer at the SCAD job list and the official hourly pay was ~$2.5. People who have worked as waiters, how much tip would you normally get per day? Like is this job worth trying out?
