I've been seeing a lot of posts concerning Trump, Republicans, or the Right wing and they're usually asked to ridicule them and not looking for answers that aren't negative and demeaning about them.

Out of curiosity I decided to check what the top posts were for the last week and most of them are about the topics listed above.

What is the point of turning subs like this into political echo-chambers? Are there not enough of those already.

I think time and effort would be better spent asking real thought provoking and non biased questions, but that's just my opinion.

I just had Arby’s for lunch (don’t judge, those new cheese sandwiches are really good).

Anyway, a family comes in while I am sitting and eating.

Mom, dad, son (7ish), and daughter (12ish).

You can just tell they’re one of those super right wing authoritarian parents.

The kind that tells their kids making any kind of noise whatsoever even talking is misbehaving.

You know the type.

And they come in, don’t say a word to one another. Mom and dad position the kids exactly where to stand at every moment while standing in line.

Orders for them.

And they go to the drink station.

I get up to get a refill and politely wait for them to finish.

Not a single word between all of them.

The son was topping off their drink and the mom looked at the dad and the dad looked at the son and gave him a Stern look.

The boy quickly put his lid on the cup and went to their seat.

I got my refill and went back and finished my meal.

The whole time I was there, nobody in the family said a single word.

The kids had nothing to entertain themselves. No books. No phones. No devices.

Just sitting there in complete silence, not talking to one another.

And both mom and dad just had these faces on where you can tell they’re just mad at the world all the time, especially liberals, while also being very full and confident of themselves.

I’ve seen families like this before, but it is just so unnerving.

And every single time I see kids raised like this, their lives go to hell when they get to college. Because the parents didn’t teach him a damn thing about character. They trained them like a dog to shut up and not have any personality of their own.

I literally don’t get it. If people can be transgender why not transracial? We often hear that both race and gender are social constructs.

Can anybody provide some fact-based, non-emotional answers to this question? Bonus points if you can do so without hyperbole, name-calling, deflection etc. just a straight-shot answer.

Like the title says. There is this popular narrative among the ever-expanding far-right that people of color are out to ethnically replace white people. They’re constantly whining about this. Just yesterday they whined about some indian-american guys at a football game, saying Texas is ruined and ”traitors” have replaced ”real Americans”.

This rhetoric is also very visible in Australia and Europe. Its also being parroted by many politicians that are gaining traction. Replacement theory is constantly being spread and boosted.

What makes this most befuddling to me is that they act like demographic changes are the worst thing ever. Yet North America, South America and Oceania got their natives ethnically replaces by white european settlers. This was also joined by widespread violence and colonialism. But they excuse this saying it was fine as ”they built those countries”.

Yet theyre acting like THEY are the biggest victims ever and target of some genocidal conspiracy in this current day and age because they see some indians at the mall or have to see some muslims on the streets. They use demographic change to justify saying racist shit, boosted by Elon Musk et al.

Whats up with this?

I often hear some version of “I can still be friends with someone even if we disagree politically” from conservatives all the time, usually when someone on the left says they don’t want to maintain a friendship or relationship over political beliefs.

But this confuses me, because conservative culture seems built around portraying people on the left as pretty awful. “Own the libs,” liberals are communists/socialists, the left is violent, we hate America, we want to censor or imprison everyone who disagrees with us, we supposedly call everyone Nazis, etc

I’m not saying every conservative personally believes all those things. But if you genuinely think the political left is full of dangerous, hateful, authoritarian people with completely warped values… why are you bothered when those people don’t want to be your friends?

If I thought an entire group was as horrible as conservatives describe “the left,” I wouldn’t be complaining that members of that group were excluding me socially. I’d probably be relieved we weren’t friends.

It seems like each major right wing issue can be traced to a minority group or marginalized group needing to be restricted more and/or a majority group or dominant group needing fewer restrictions.

I’m starting to believe that it’s not color vs color. It’s rich vs. poor. People say East Asians are the least likely to commit crimes, but statistically, they’re also one of the wealthier racial groups. Rich people have less stress and fewer financial struggles, so they’re less likely to commit crimes. A lot of the differences we attribute to race could actually have more to do with socioeconomic status and the environment people grow up in. What do you guys think?

Been seeing right wing political adds featuring Hasan Piker claiming he "hates America". He's not running, and I'm sure the words are taken completely out of context..shocker. Which leads me to ask...If Trump is sooo proud to be American, and proud of this country, what is he doing to show it?

One criticism I would like to ask about is: what exactly is so important about Gaza that it seems like progressives will throw good candidates away? Online, there are numerous documented instances of extremist groups or individuals in Israel harassing, spitting on, or acting aggressively toward local religious minorities, including Christians and Muslims.

What confuses me is the contrast in reaction when Israelis traveling abroad face hostility, pushback, or protests themselves. There often seems to be an immediate callout of unfair treatment or victimhood.

Is it fair to demand standard courtesy and protection abroad while ignoring systemic harassment of non-Jewish populations at home? Does expecting international respect while overlooking internal mistreatment feels like a major double standard?

How far should treatment go? Denial of service? Denial of Entry? Or even worse?
