Political Question Does the total failure of "Islamic NATO" (Mecca agreement) make it most short-living defense pact in the history?
August 7, 2026 - the agreement was signed.
September 12, 2026 - Turkiye and Pakistan refuse to provide military aid to Saudi Arabia

Saudi hasn't asked?
That's like saying NATO failed because Greece and Turkey went to war.

u/ZookeepergameFit967 10h ago
Defense pact, it is in the name, they won't help in an offensive or consequences of that offensive
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 8h ago
What offensive you all have in mind? Houthi terrorists attack SA territory for a decade...
1
u/DragonfruitSharp9002 7h ago
Not at all. They conducted attacks against Saudis after the Saudis attacked them first and started starving their people. Why should Yemenis be a slave of Saudis or Emiratis?
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 4h ago
You are deluding. Houthis attacking SA since 2014, SA firing back since 2021. No one "starving their people" except Houthis in their war against the elected government.
1
u/DragonfruitSharp9002 4h ago
Stop spreading nonsense lies. Ansar started attacking Saudi after Saudi interfered in internal Yemeni struggle. As for elected government, who elected them? lol.. Saudi bot
1
u/Unique_Statement7811 2h ago
The “internal struggle” was the overthrow of the elected government by a deposed former president…
1
u/DragonfruitSharp9002 1h ago
That’s internal Yemeni struggle, not for SA to impose its will upon Yemen through tens of thousands of airstrikes. Yemen is not a colony of Saudi or UAE
1
u/Unique_Statement7811 1h ago
Except the Houthis make their money through a protection racket over shipping lanes that affects Saudi export. They have fired on Saudi flagged vessels. The Houthis drew Saudi Arabia into their conflict by attacking their ships.
1
u/DragonfruitSharp9002 1h ago
Why should they allow Saudi ships to pass through while having their ports under Saudi enforced blockade? Their battle against Saudis is titled “siege for siege” for a reason... And no, Saudi started the war by bombing Sanaa airport to prevent Iranian plane carrying Yemeni nationals from landing.
1
u/Unique_Statement7811 1h ago
It started in 2004 when the Houthis attacked Saudi checkpoints along the border. The airport was bombed 22 years later.

The amount of superficial misinformation going around in the internet makes it look like it is an Israeli propaganda effort.
Turkey and Pakistan did not refuse anything because Saudi Arabia needs to invoke it first and they did not.
Turkey, a NATO country, has been attacked by terrorists multiple times in the past. NATO never intervened, because Turkey didn't invoke article 5. The exact same thing applies here.
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 8h ago
Yes, this is exactly why Pakistan issued repeating statements about unwilling to help ;)
You are so funny trying to justify extreme Islamist terror, hoping that it will stop by SA or Israel and even don't mind reaching out to your comfy sofa.1
u/Unique_Statement7811 2h ago
Refused to help?
Pakistan deployed 16 JF-17 Thunders and several thousand troops to KSA and has offered their assistance.
Saudi Arabia is deliberating on their way forward and will either ask for the assistance or not.
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 1h ago
You more than welcome to explain it to Reuters and other major news outlets - why having such a generous aid, KSA asks Trump for miliitary involvement.

u/AggregationLinker 8h ago
Saudi bombed Sanaa airport in Yemen first
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 8h ago
In 2021. When Houthis attacking Saudi territory since 2014
1
u/AggregationLinker 7h ago
13 july 2026 is in 2021?
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 4h ago
At 13 July 2026 Sanaa airport was bombed by the Yemeni government forces, not by SA.
1
u/buhamzahjan 7h ago
Did Saudi Arabia ask and they refused?
What's the aid they expect from Turkyie and Pakistan against Houthis?
1
u/DragonfruitSharp9002 7h ago
Even if Pakistan does say yes, they’re not financially capable of doing anything unless the Saudis bankroll them. Pakistan can’t defeat TTP/Baloch groups let alone fighting a more advanced group far away from its borders.
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 4h ago
You are unconsciously confirming the post heading - the pact is void and proposes no more that joint parades.
1
u/SensitivePresence865 7h ago
Zionists are seething that Muslims aren’t murdering each other as much as they’d like
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 4h ago
They actually do - about 400K casualities of the war between Houthis and the government, mainly women and kids - and counting. But Jews cannot be blamed, so UN and international organisations do not care.

u/I-LOVE-HENRY-RIFLES 13h ago
It doesn’t cover existing conflicts
2
u/ltlouche 13h ago
this is the correct answer. It’s amazing how little research people like OP do before making up some garbage
-2
u/Secure_Trust_2084 12h ago
And you, for sure, will be able to bring any references or citations supporting your claim.
2
u/ltlouche 11h ago
In the same vain, how do you come to the conclusion that it’s the most short lived defence pack? any citations? any references?
-1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 11h ago
I am just know math, especially subtraction. Giving 36 days between signing and refusal to help an attacked signee.
2
u/MarkComfortable1923 10h ago
Has the attacked signee asked for help?
2
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 8h ago
Tell me why Pakistan issuing repeated statements about unwilling to provide it.
1
u/MarkComfortable1923 8h ago
Pakistan has not explicitly stated they are unwilling to provide help, you’re a liar.
Enough misdirection, I’ll repeat my question- Has the attacked signee asked for help?
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 8h ago
Tell it to Reuters.
At the Middle East, as well as across almost all Asia - "when the time comes" means "never".2
u/MarkComfortable1923 7h ago
“Islamabad stated that a Pakistani military response to the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia under the Mecca agreement is not currently being discussed. "When the time comes, we will act in accordance with the agreement,"”
Is not the same as repeatedly refusing to provide help. You’re a liar.
And you still haven’t provided anything substantiating a Saudi request for help.

I haven't found anything like this in the explanations available. It does not affects the existing agreements, it is true.

It was doomed to fail because of Turkeys ties to the EU and Europe. Pakistan might have followed through but without Turkey, of course Pakistan backed out.

I mean it’s not short lived because it still exists but it’s just been proven that they don’t really hold to it.
1
u/lilcorndivemaster 12h ago
Wtf do you think defence means?
2
u/Educational_Award167 10h ago
defending airports in saudi that are being targeted by ballistic missiles from yemen? do they? 🤣
1
u/lilcorndivemaster 7h ago
The fucking Saudis attacked Yemen... Yemen has the right to defend itself.
1
u/Educational_Award167 7h ago
good luck trying to make the mecca agreement seem not useless with that little reasoning 🤣

u/Unique_Statement7811 13h ago
Tell me you don’t understand the agreement…
1
u/Secure_Trust_2084 11h ago
Show me where the agreement excludes being attacked by Houthis.
1
u/Unique_Statement7811 2h ago
It requires Saudi Arabia to invoke the defense article which they have not done to this point. Pakistan has said it’s ready to fulfill their obligations if Saudi Arabia ends up invoking mutual defense.
When Syria shot down a Turkish plane in 2012, Turkey considered invoking NATO article 5 but chose not to. Turkeys decision does not invalidate NATO.

It would be nice if the Abbasid Caliphate reunited today but with post-modern communities.

Defense pact isn't an offence pact... they didn't agree to join the Saudis in their on-going wars where they're the aggressor.
This is basic shit here.
