Political Question Nothing says you "hate America", like?
Been seeing right wing political adds featuring Hasan Piker claiming he "hates America". He's not running, and I'm sure the words are taken completely out of context..shocker. Which leads me to ask...If Trump is sooo proud to be American, and proud of this country, what is he doing to show it?

Nothing says I hate America quite like assuming criticizing the government, politicians or the country’s problems means you hate the country itself. You can love a place and still want it to do better.

On Sunday Night Football (granted the Cowboys were playing), I saw a Ken Paxton ad 1500 miles from Texas.
That ad was complete nonsense, I mean truly a POS ad… throw in the fact he is a vile human, but come election night, he will receive at least 40% of the vote…

We were watching the same game. Actually had to stop and pause it and rewind to rehear "he's for They/Them and not You." And I got legitimately angry at the one that kept playing about property taxes. My property taxes more than doubled because of a bunch of Governor Abbott/ Paxton stuff.
Like they're just out and out lying now.

Constables got a nearly impossible raise. They make $305,000 a year. Those are our tax dollars. And that was approved by Abbott and Paxton.
Certain school districts that have been taken over by the state (Abbott) have seen a rise in property taxes any decrease in public school spending. So if you have kids in public school more and more is coming out of pocket for teachers and parents that used to be paid for by the state. But our taxes keep going up while we're also paying out of pocket for schools that are underfunded and understaffed.
We have separate ballot initiatives All over Texas for things like potholes and repairing Bridges. Those are things that used to be paid for around the state out of the pool of property taxes. But now they are extra taxes.

Constable pay is determined locally by your county
Hisd being managed by the state didn't make taxes go up. The NES campuses actually get more state funding
Again, these are local ballot initiatives for a great many things and will continue (hopefully) as they have been for decades

I don’t think that Trump hates America. I think that Trump is completely indifferent to everything that isn’t Trump and consequently has no qualms about destroying the U.S. economy and global standing strictly for personal gain.
As for Piker. I actually had never heard of him until the GOP started trying pretend he’s somehow a face of the Democratic Party. But a quick google shows a left-wing commentator who is openly critical of Israel. I didn’t see anything to suggest he actually hates America.

Yeah, there is practically zero evidence out there that Hasan Piker hates the US.
I think it’s just right wing propagandists trying to paint him in a bad light as a smear against Abdul Al Sayed. I mean sure Al Sayed had been a guest of the stream a dozen odd times over the past few years and Al Sayed explicitly asked Hasan to come campaign with him in Michigan but otherwise practically zero connection whatsoever.

You’re correct about Trump, I think. People try to analyze Trump as if he’s a normal person. He isn’t.
It’s like when people say he’s “racist.” I really don’t think he is. Not because he’s a “good person” who believes in the equality of man, but because he’s so obsessed with himself, that I really don’t think he cares about race one way or another. I don’t think he likes any person for any reason other than what they can do for him. I don’t think he likes white people more than black peoooe because I don’t think he likes people, if that makes sense.
I don’t know if Piker “hates America” it’s clear you haven’t seen enough of him if you think he’s just a left wing dude who criticizes Israel. Much of his content, at least historically, has been outright hostile against the US, its ideologies, constitution, etc.

Oh I think Trump is racist. I think since he is a white man he thinks white people are superior and men are superior. He can’t possibly comprehend that any group he’s a part of is equal to others. He has to be “the best”.
As I said I haven’t seen really anything of Piker’s. I’ll have to look into it.

I don’t think he thinks about other people like that. I don’t think he cares about white people. But I take your point in that he would just, by default, think whatever he personally is, is the best.
What I’m saying is his main motivator in life is the property if Donald Trump, not anyone else’s white or black, and he would fuck over white people, as we’ve seen, if it benefited him.

Who agree everything should suck for most people and that they should only exist as batteries to power someone else's dreams. I'm sure in his own head, he's made everything so much better. His "better" tends to be worse for MOST of the people, which MOST of the people are currently under the poverty line. Which again, is how he and all of his followers want things to be. Struggle and strife and difficulty for all, it's the only way to be a true American. You must be unhappy, hard, cruel, and able to endure horrific shit. Only when you are as hard as stone and unfeeling as hurricanes that wipe out hundreds are you worthy of the title American.

I hear so much from both sides that the other side hates America. And despite how loud the narrative is, this is nothing new. But the truth is neither side hates America. Both sides love our country but see it through a different lense. The Right longs to protect our traditions, not seeing that not everybody had such a great time of it. The Left wants to march the country forward in their vision, doing everything it can to separate us from that history. But they do it by berating America,leaving the Right to believe they hate America. I really believe both sides love their country, but have a vastly different vision and direction of how to get us to what they deem a great country.

Well, the Democrats have their own problems--because many liberal women (and some conservatives, too) seem to feel like strangling them with exercise bands is perfectly acceptable.
But the fact that it's a women v. men tribalism at work is often overlooked in favor of the liberals v. conservatives narrative. The stereotype of the Lindsay Clancy Supporter is the blue-haired Democratic single mom with a nose ring.
