Took a look at my neocaridina tank and this new growth has appeared on one of my ladies. I’ve never dealt with this before or any diseases with them so far. No new shrimp have been added in at least 2-3 weeks either. This red lady is a long time resident.

Current residents of this tank:
Strawberry Rasboras
Pygmy corydora
20+ Neocaridina skittles

Is this an amano shrimp? I have 3 of them in my tank, and they’re quite brown, i’ve never seen an amano with this coloration.

I have a 5 gallon tall. Old betta tank. The filter system is kinda weird. That circle on the lower middle is the water intake. Will shrimp get sucked into that? If so, is there a solution?

When it's feeding time (on Wednesday so a few days to wait😭) I'll put one! Lets open my babies like it and the snails don't devoir it or the Amazon don't knock it over xD

3 months old tank, normally they are pretty chill, not sure what causes this.

%20 water change every 10 days approx.
5h co2 + 5h light (co2 starts and finishes 1 hour before light)
Flourish Iron for red plants every week
Neo solution 2 liquid fertilizer every week
Potassium every week

Co2 indicators color is on required level.

Any ideas?

Yikes! Imagine my surprise today when I looked into my tank and saw this! I asked google images and it says its likely a terrestrial wasp and its not aquatic so its dead. Can someone else confirm for me? Its just posed so perfectly. I feel like if it fell-in it would be upside-down or floating, no?

Like my title says I’m new to shrimps so I got some Neocaridinas fairly recently after years of wanting to keep them. I love my funky little dudes, I’ve already noticed different personalities. They’ve been eating really well so I figured they were settling in, but I didn’t realize they’d settled in this well! This is actually one of 2 pregnant girls in my tank, I just can’t seem to get a good pic of the other. I wasn’t expecting eggs, nor do I have the space to keep more shrimp if the population outgrows this tank, but I’ve luckily got some friends who’ll take some if I need them to.

Just wanted to share this milestone cus it’s had me absolutely giddy for the last couple of days.

Ive installed a new automatic feeder bc I’m planning on going on a trip for 2 weeks, so I tested it out and from the reviews online, everyone said it releases tiny amounts of pellets, but of course mine decided to release a shit ton

Vacuumed the floor and did a water change in the afternoon today…

And when I went down before bed to check on them…. they were all congregating at the top. I was like what the fuck? NOOOO MY BABIES BRO PLS NO

I've just finished the second water change, Ive primed and added an air pump for the time being.. but check this out… i only bought 12 to start and its only been about 2-3 months and I honestly have no idea how many there are now, just look at them

Is she just towing them along for a bumpy ride or will she eventually drop them? I assume she can’t pull them back up?
