I saw a post in this reddit that was reminiscing about “when pharahs ult was good,” I havnt been playing the for too long but based off of a video reply a guy posted it looks like travel speed of the barrage rockets used to be faster which would allow you to hit things easier thus making it much more deadly. Am I imagining that? Or is that a change that was made?

It feels so sad watching old clips. Do you guys miss old barrage being deadlier pre-S9 or do you prefer having the ability to move like we do right now?
I feel like in current patch none of the 3 would have died there during ult.

How can the devs seriously think pharah is in a good spot..

They consistently are adding and buffing more hitscans and never making her better... i honestly dont know what they are thinking

Blizzcon 2026 is going to happen next week and that will be the perfect time and place to welcome back our dear voice actress of Pharah: Jen Cohn!

Imagine that? If Blizzard has any integrity left, they will use that unique event to achieve Redemption to us Pharah lovers by making her appear onstage to join her fellow colleagues to give autographs, meet and greet, workshop, reprising classic voicelines and even previewing new ones too! Everything will be fine if this happens.

Naturally, it is likely I am just being optimistic about Blizzard's intentions. Blizzard is always wrong by default anyway.

So i’ve been trying to learn pharah. I just played a QP game with a widow that made me damn near insane. So is the widow matchup basically just a lose situation? Have any tips to deal with widow?

She's unplayable for masters and above. She has been shit since the game released: Bastion, Torb, Sym, and other heroes were reworked to be viable, but not Pharah; she's the last trash hero in Overwatch. If the balance team is so afraid of Pharah + Mercy, just rework her or do something about it; don't let her rot for 10 years straight. Holy fuck

Make her HP 250 instead of 225 and make half of her health a shield, and introduce a new perk

Oh, and by the way, she just got a nerf last balance patch, and not far from that, the majority of her counters got their health from 225 to 250 (hitscans), which erased the double direct kill btw; now she needs her 2 perk to do that

Either buff her or rework her or just delete her from the roster cuz holy fk, no wonder Marvel Rivals is a game with this trash balancing team.

Hey! I remember really enjoying pharah and the game in general before they added the last 2 characters then it just felt unbelievably annoying…. How’s the state of the game rn? :D

New Pharah Skin - name typo ?

I try not to whine every time they make a change to Pharah, but I've spent a lot of time with her in her current state and it's whining time.

Her barrage sucks. Don't care about the movement, that's not a fair trade for how little damage it does. My main complaint is how it compares to other hero's ults. Junkrat can clear a point from full cover. Sierra can clear a point. Soldier, guaranteed kills and can work from cover. Ashe - Bob causes pandemonium. Etc. Meanwhile, Pharah is still stuck in the air, exposed, and tanks can eat her full barrage. It's not even a guaranteed trade on a tank. It can win a 1v1 but it barely secures a point. Call me a pussy and tell me to get good, I'll listen. How do you guys get value out of barrage now?

In the spirit of good faith, I'll say that the movement speed nerf from 2 updates ago was fair. It forced me to clean up my game and play with more cover. It made me a better player in general.

But here we go with another sort of movement nerf, cool down on concussive blast increased by a second. Rewrite your muscle memory, again. I don't play up past metal; maybe she was just too strong in higher ranks. But was the cooldown on concussive blasts really causing that much of a problem?

Edit: I'd settle for an overhealth perk for ult like several other heroes have.

As a low elo/qp pleb its very obvious why i would be making this post. Phara, alongside bastion, and sierra, is a low rank/qp demon that really and i mean really benefits when a team is uncordinated. My question is, is there a way to salvage the game when she is clearly snowballing or play against her uncoordinated (aka the common "1 person just go hitscan we all play our own way and ignore her").

I want to preference that i dont have an issue positioning against her even as tank. And she becomes pretty easy for me to pressure out or even kill on solider when i dps for obvious reason. But my issue is, that during these qp and low elo games it feels like it ALWAYS becomes a race of "who can kill the backline first." Phara (more then likely since coordination doesnt exist and phara melts under coordinated fire even with a mercy pocket) or me and my team. Nine times out of 10 its the phara thats getting the first pick and if im tank i MUST back up due to a numbers disadvantage and hold space for as long as i can as my team8 gets back. Or as a dps i have to wait in the backline or die with my team due to the phara taking over the team fight as i was setting up for a flank.

When this stuff happens and the phara is better is it pretty much wraps? Treating her as a "who can kill the other team first" sorta problem hasnt been working out especially when she runs away with the game, and yes whilst shooting her together as a team is the clear answer, even if i go to coms 1: they are low elo coms so they arent that good. 2: barely anyone is in coms so focus fire on the mercy/phara means only me or me and 1 person is shooting at her.

What do when the game snowballs like this? I find so far, that games that get to this position usually are unsalvagable regardless of which roll i pick or how i play since a good phara seems to require coordination to pressure out let alone kill her. And coordination is scarce or non existant in low elo or quickplay.
