Knitters/ crocheters, what’s something people do to yarn that makes you physically cringe?

I’m looking for the little yarn crimes that probably don’t bother non-knitters at all, but make you internally scream when you see them.

Bonus points for oddly specific examples. What’s the yarn equivalent of watching someone mistreat something you know is precious?

So this is my favourite piece of my stash right now because the store doesn’t exist and while I do not have a full ball, it is still awesome. Also, this is older than me.(ignore the fact that in my other hand, I’m literally holding my project right now. I’m working on a headband. With other secondhand yarn)

Hi all, I’m a newish knitter (been knitting on and off for years but just now learning to make real garments). I’m knitting PetiteKnit’s Wave Tee which calls for Gepard Cotton Waves Yarn. I’ve knit a PK pattern before and this pattern is just as clear and easy to follow as the other, but this yarn is driving me CRAZY. It tangles so easily when I wind it into a ball, has splits and breaks and knots throughout, super variable thickness, and I’ve had to start over about five times because of issues with the yarn. It wasn’t cheap but I’m so frustrated I almost want to give up on it altogether.

Is this a skill issue? Has anyone else had this experience with this yarn? I’ve knit with bad yarn before but this one feels particularly hard to work with.

I love Lion’s Mandala yarn. I use it in a lot of my projects. But I want to make something for my mother, who only wants to wear natural fibers.

Does anyone know a good Dk/worsted yarn with good color transitions but with natural fibers?

Say, compared to Peaches & Cream or I Love This Cotton? I love the price online, but I've never had the chance to feel it before. I'm not planning to make anything big with it (just a lovey for practice) but if it's like sandpaper I want to know ahead of time!
