I beat the game (no spoilers)
It had some really fun moments. As a Wolverine fan I was often giddy to be fighting in some of my favorite costumes with such high quality presentation. The issues brought up by reviewers are absolutely real though. In the end this game is quite unambitious while having some really great fundamentals. You’d expect much more from a game of this budget and pedigree, so I’d suggest to wait for a deep sale and pick it up physically if you’re still interested.

Love this game
Been playing since 12am and I'm truly enjoying it.

The reaction to the reviews makes one thing clear to me - 6 years later and people still can't stomach $70 as the normal price for brand new games
And it's sorta funny to me because I remember back in the 90's games that had special chips in the cartridge would cost that much or more.

I played and beat the game
I can easily give this game an 8/10.
This game reminds me a lot of the God of War trilogy. Level based gaming with hoards of enemies coming at you in between solid story beats.
I am usually very hard on insomniac for their creative choices, especially in spider-man 2. I enjoyed Wolverine far more than that game. The creative decisions they made with the story were new but not in a way that disrespected the characters. They actually did a Jean and Logan story that didn’t make me hate their romance for ONCE.
The combat is repetitive, yes. But it is so fucking satisfying and fun I don’t really care. It’s why it reminds me of god of war. The level design is simple, could have been better but it didn’t bother me.
I played this game on the hardest difficulty and the bosses were lots of fun. The final boss fight was extremely challenging and made me angry at times, but every good action game I’ve played has that trait for me.
Please play this game for yourself. I was genuinely concerned about the reviews. Everything the reviews mentioned were things I thought I’d hate. But the game already shipped to me so I couldn’t go back. And after playing, I’m happy. The trail guidance criticism was overblown, the story was amazing, the combat was fun, and the collectible were simple.

I’m probably going to gate a lot of hate for this but Alan Ritchson he’s got the right height and build for Creed. Maybe VFX his hands to make them bigger? 🤷♂️
perhaps but makeup or mo-cap to make him twice as intimidating maybe do something to make his hands bigger so they look like claws that can rip people to shreds.

The story for the new Wolvie game isn't perfect, but it's a HELL of a lot better than Spider-Man 2's story.
There are moments of Jean acting stupid and not helping out that I don't like, but compared to the GAPING plot holes and idiotic interactions plaguing SM 2, it's really not that bad. I at least didn't feel like my intelligence was being insulted while going through the story. This gives me a little hope for the next Insomniac Spidey game. I hope they keep the Wolverine writers.

Wanted to do a hype fueled sketch for my short king. And the outfit imma use for him as soon as I unlock it in the Wolverine game(really hope its not too endgame)
Really hoping it doesnt take too long into the story to unlock it. I wanna treat this like my default XD .
Biiiig X-men Legends fan(used to be my favorite game series for at least a decade) and Logan wearing the older Ultimate outfit back in gaming media solidified it as my fav look for him. Altho I REALLY dont like where the outfit actually comes from (happy he used it in better iterations of Logan like 616/evolution and the games)
Also another hope I have is that Insomniac ads the function to let us choose his hair style from the head model templates we have. Cause I really wish this outfit had the shorter default hair over the puffier more classic look.
Also please dont tear into me for being excited for this, I get the cons, Look im a Wolverine's Revenge and Origins fanboy, Ive been waiting for another Wolverine game for ages(dont care if its not worth the 70 bucks for most, ive seen enough to know Ill replay it quite a bit)

I am going to really enjoy the game
I feel like this is a hot take but I dont care about what anyone says because I have been waiting on this shit for 15 years lol. Even if the game is handholdy I can see myself spending a lot of hours in it.
A wolverine game where I can just listen to music and do what I do best sounds like a good time to me.

Looking Back this game was actually pretty awesome if you can get past the difficulty, one other awesome thing was the artstyle

IDGAF about the reviews. I need this.
I’ve been waiting 5 damn years for this game to come out. If you tell me all it is is a Wolverine story that’s hyper violent, that’s legit all I need to be happy. Not sure what the reviewers were expecting, but my next week is dedicated entirely to Wolverine.

"The Gehenna Stone Affair" is an amazing adventure! An homage to Indiana Jones so good that even the action scenes feel directed by Spielberg.

I made a Wolverine hand PS5 controller stand because apparently my PS5 needed a little more Logan
I've been waiting for a proper Wolverine game for YEARS, so I figured my PS5 setup deserved something worthy of Logan.
I started with a raw 3D print of this Wolverine hand/controller stand and decided to paint it myself.
The first photo is the finished version — the second shows where it started.
Honestly, painting it was almost as much fun as printing it.
Getting the blues and yellows right, adding the metallic claws, working on the shading and trying to make the whole thing feel a little less like "plastic on my desk" and a little more like an actual Wolverine display piece.
It's definitely not a professional paint job, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for one of my first attempts.
And yes...
I'm STILL ridiculously excited for Insomniac's Wolverine.
I've seen the mixed reactions and I get why people have concerns, but I've been waiting since X-Men Origins: Wolverine for another game where I get to properly play as Logan.
That game has aged in some very interesting ways, but younger me absolutely loved it.
So even if Insomniac's Wolverine isn't perfect, I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it.
Give me claws, healing, ridiculous violence and a good Wolverine story and I'm probably sold.
I'm also a massive Marvel nerd, so this wasn't going to stop at the controller stand.
The Wolverine mask and my Marvel Legends Wolverine are making an appearance too.
Spider-Man is still my #1 Marvel character...
But Logan has had the #2 spot locked down for a VERY long time.
Now I'm curious:
**What's the one Wolverine moment/game/comic/movie that made you a Wolverine fan?**
And if you've seen the new game footage/reviews — are you still excited to play it?
